“I had to file off to much material off of it and this made it very difficult to mount. I figured it would come ready to install i will have to buy another one and spend extra money to have it machined so it fits tight. I wish i would've known it needed to be machined to specs before hand.”
Im sorry to hear that you ran into issues when installing our mount. For the most part machining is not necessary when installing one of our mounts. We stay on the larger side of tolerances since we have no control over the the dovetail cut in the slide. We would rather have the mount be a press in fit or on the larger side than have it be too small and then there is no way to mount the dot on your gun. Due to this we always recommend having a gunsmith install our parts.
“Seems to not fit so I ruined the first one. Bought a second one and that did not fit as well. So I guess I will take it to a gunsmith to see if it was me or the mount. Pretty sure it’s the mount. The sights drift on and off just fine. But these mounts binds up real bad”
Thank you so much Alvin for taking the time to share your feedback! We're sorry that you had to go through the difficulty of trying the first gun only to find that it did not fit. We understand that this is disappointing and we apologize for what happened. We manufacture these mounts to be a press in fit so they do not come loose while shooting. Due to manufacturing tolerances and differences from slide to slide we stick to the larger side of tolerances, that way our mounts will always be a tight fit. We would prefer it that way and have you remove a bit of material to get the mount to fit rather than having it fit too loose and then there is no way to mount the dot on your gun. We recommend having a gunsmith install our mounts due to this.
“As much as I liked the item. Bushing was too big for the slide. Contacted Customer Service shortly after receiving but got no response. Was hoping was due to COVID, but tried again and still no response. Third time a charm - wrong. Still nothing so posting review”
