My quote for this coming year insurance was quoted as £1390 i noticed it included to and from work as an 85 yr old i informed them I was retired the reply was to increase the premium by another £10 but they apologised as this was the norm who says it pays to be honest my thought was it would go down a little bit not increase after all I have been with them 10 yrs

Been an Esure customer for a number of years and at renewal time called to remove a number of personal possession items. The result was my premium actually increasing - and Esure's attitude was basically take it or leave it - so I have left it. Clearly a company that places profit over any concern for the customer - not a great quality in an insurance company

Spent 4 days trying to get through and spent ages waiting for someone to help me.I’d have had more luck ringing China.when I eventually got through there was no help at all. I will be re considering whether or not to renew. They won’t be as slow taking my money!

Was considering going to Esure however based upon these reviews covering their poor claims handling service , I will pay more and use a more reputable insurer .

Esure: Well they emailed me to ask for my view so here it goes: I've been with esure for three years and renewed for a fourth. Once they quoted me for the renewal, I called to discuss removing my named driver and they charged me for the original quote and processed a partial refund for the difference without the named driver. I then got an email confirming my renewal. Four days later, I got another email saying they cancelled my policy which came as quite a shock as they took my money. I called them to find out why and they said that the lady who renewed my policy on the phone had processed my partial refund before charging me the full amount and so their system didn't pick up the fact that I paid for the renewal so they just cancelled my policy. I was told that they couldn't amend the error on the system and instead I had to create a brand new policy, pay for it (much more than my original quote) and wait for the original refund and the new refund for this new quote. As well as that, I was assured that I would keep my three years of no claims discount. This was two weeks ago and to date I have yet to receive my no claims discount or my refund which amounts to £105.88 plus a gesture credit of £30. Ideally, they wouldn't have cancelled my original policy. Furthermore, they should have corrected the error and reactivated my original policy as well as refunding me the difference in the over charge within the same week. They were fine for three years but this series of issues is a huge disappointment

Put a claim in for a small incident involving someone hitting my car, that was 4 weeks ago and all I hear when I ring up is 'the engineer' is working on your claim. It's total rubbish , there's been other excuses such as 'the engineer is sick' or 'it has been transferred to another engineer.' The guy at BMW told me they were poor but you never really know until you put in a claim.

"I purchased another car went through esure to change the insurance to my new car. Went through all the details to then be told they can't insure my car.didnt get an explanation why so had to cancel my insurance so then I got a cancellation fee. I wrote to esure asking for an explanation why? the only reply I got was a cancellation cost and no explanation why they couldn't insure my new car."

Esure we’re very good when my wife had a no fault accident but unfortunately the renewal price was ridiculously high so we cancelled auto renewal but they took the renewal price out of our account anyway and are saying we won’t get it back for 3-5 working days, no policy put in place so they effectively stole our money.

I tried to correct an error made by esure on my vehicle insurance policy with regards to the 'personal details' section. Tried phoning and after a lot of questions from an automated system to confirm who I am and then waiting to be put through to customer services, I was cut off before any contact with a human. Tried making contact online through the 'live chat' system which told me I need to 'log in' even though I was already 'logged in'. The 'live chat' system is not fit for purpose as it could not understand any of the request I was making. In fact it didn't even understand when I said 'goodbye' and wanted me to repeat what I was saying. Why cant they bring back humans to answer the phone etc. It would save them from a lot of dissatisfied customers and negative reviews.

"I am insured with esure for my car but have tried in past 2 days to obtain quote for my replacement car but after logging on I am unable to progress and keeps on prompting me to talk to chat it.\r\nNot imprecations all with my simple request for change of vehicle which is imminent so may have to try someone else more user friendly "

"Absolutely awful company. Dreadful customer service.\r\nThey use a garage network that is incompetent at even the most basics of admin and logistics. They made no inquiries at all about the availability of parts for 6 weeks, then blamed BREXIT and the war in Ukraine for delaying my repairs. The cause was the repair company doing NOTHING to enquire about parts for 6 weeks.\r\nEsure actually defend this as acceptable, with one esure employee who was handling my complaint describing 2 months waiting for car repairs as \"fantastic\". It makes me seriously wonder about the company ethos and the sort of people they employ.\r\nPlease avoid the company."

They caused an admin error which I had to pay to correct. I had been with them for a number of years and had documentation proving they had the details correct before but recent documents were incorrect. Due to time constraints, I ended up paying to correct the record.

Having been with them for a couple of years, always comprehensive. I had to make a claim, after which my car insurance with them shot up four fold. They keep trying to get me to reinsurer with them, yet their quotes are always twice the cost of any other.
