for holiday home owners with langer absences insufficient alternatives i.e "swith-on/switch-off" capability is way too expensive. Alternative would be welcomed.

Hi Paul. Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. The reconnection Fee is enforced by the satellite owner. Kind Regards, Europasat Team

No problems with Europsat at all. We once had a problem with our internet and they talked us through what could be wrong in a clear, precise way. They always let us know if our usage is going up so we can decide whether to increase it or not.

I live in a very remote rural area, where ADSL max speed is about 1.5MB in the daytime and "out of service" in the evening and through most of the weekend. I was promised by Europasat speeds of "up to 20MB", but in fact after shelling out the enormous costs of setting up and paying for several months now of service that's far dearer than what anyone pays for their internet, it has never gone above 6MB and during the evening it's no better than the ADSL. The miserly data limits are completely unsuitable for normal modern Internet usage, and mean you need to be pretty well off to be able to afford to use it like most people use their ADSL. I'm paying £44 a month for a 10GB limit (compare that to my city friends who pay under a tenner for unlimited data that's REALLY at 20+MB!) and even so it's still goodbye to kids streaming videos for homework assignments, goodbye to using iPlayer. I feel like I've gone back to 1998, when I was using 56k dial-up, paying by the minute and restricted to text-only websites. After I'd entered into the contract and it was too late to back out, I was told this is "normal" by a phoneline assistant whose tone of voice made me feel like I was purely delusional to expect anything else. On top of this, the billing is extremely confusing. You get emails saying your payment is due well before the date they tell you and when you call up to query it they say it's just for your information, you don't need to do anything. But then you get reminder emails asking for payment again. I got an email saying I'd used 87% of my data for the month only a fortnight after the refresh date - just from browsing and "indulging" in one or two Youtube videos!! I switched off the router and fell back on the ADSL as I didn't want to have extra charges from going over - but then three days later I got an email saying I was now at 101% of my data allowance!! Over all I feel bitterly disappointed. This hasn't helped to lessen the rural disadvantage at all, it's increased it as I'm now burdened with this high cost each month and I still have to have an ADSL connection anyway as a backup even though that's also useless a lot of the time, but now I can't afford to invest in the new rural 4G scheme that EE have just started. I wish I had just put up with the ADSL and not let myself be talked into this by the hard sell - if I had done that then I could now do EE's 4G scheme and be as happy as my neighbours who did just that and now have 30MB unlimited for half what I pay!

Hi Finnur Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. The speeds you are receiving could be due to the amount of people on the network at any given time as this is a shared network and for this reason, we cannot guarantee any kind of headline speeds. Kind regards The Europasat Team

The system was installed quickly and efficiently and the installers were very knowledgeable about the product and ways in which it could be used. Operating speeds are consistently good. Can't understand why this isn't in wider use throughout Europe (perhaps it is and I don't know about it?), especially for areas in blackspot pockets outside the scope of national broadband systems. Highly recommended.

Our BT broadband was so intermittent that it was really non excitant. We had our Satellite broadband installed in October, and was assured by the installer that the 'reception' was of the like of your sky satellite, thus "if you have sky you will have broadband".....not the case. Light winds - speed drops. Heavy rain/cloud - speed drops/cut off.....snow...forget it! Like everything, when it works its good, but its definitely not the fail safe solution that they suggested it would be.

Speed of broadband has slowed down considerably. Not much better than dial up. Great to start with, not great now. WHAT IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT?

Hi Judith Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. The speeds you are receiving could be due to the amount of people on the network at any given time as this is a shared network and for this reason, we cannot guarantee any kind of headline speeds. This is also why your speeds are lower during the late afternoon till late at night simply due to the amount of people using the bandwidth. Please also be aware that the services is an up-to service which means the 20MB/s is not a guaranteed speed. This is stated in our terms and conditions which can be found at: https://www.europasat.com/support/about-us/terms-conditions/. If you have particular concerns, can we ask that you call our Technical Team when you are experiencing the particularly slow speeds and they can investigate for you. Kind regards The Europasat Team

The bandwidth has become increasingly worse since I first had this system installed. My download speed rarely achieves the 20mb maximum and during the afternoon and evening it is unusable to stream video. I have frequently seen download speeds of much less than 1mb in the evenings. If there was an alternative supplier available to me, I would switch tomorrow.

This was a DIY installation of an SES satellite Broadband system. John Sidwell supplied the system, and I installed it. John gave excellent support over the phone whilst I was installing it,and a Europasat technician talked me through the settings to make on my laptop to enable dish "pointing". All in all,a good experience with ongoing running cost savings compared to Orange.

We have been customers of Tooway/Europasat for some two hand half years now and find the service is excellent. We live on Exmoor, within the National Park, and have absolutely no viable links with terrestrial broadband nor any mobile phone reception, with no likelihood of this changing in the foreseeable future, so without Europasat we would be effectively cut off from so all internet services. We shop on line frequently (although delivery drivers are pretty shell-shocked by the time they find us), so Europasat are providing an invaluable service, both to us and the suppliers that rely on the internet for business. Naturally, we now greatly rely on email and enjoy YouTube etc so many thanks to Europasat, what a astral invention!!

We had Broadband via a BT landline which gave us about 0.5 MB on a good day, but had increasingly frequent dropouts because of deterioration of an underground cable. When this failed, BT refused to sort it out as we were more than 9 km from the exchange. There is no fibre in the area so it was either Satellite, 56K modem or 3G mobile. We chose satellite. Costly to install and much higher monthly rental, but gives us 10MB down, (2MB up) and seems very reliable. We are happy.

Basically the Europasat system is good however there are certain issues that I would address that I have raised before 1)Website could do with a re think and better layout of options 2) account holders in PAYG seem to have account details placed on another server which is soooooo slooooow and the tabulation means that on laptops the data is not displayed all at once. Simple text lines as before had all the data visible in one go. Can we go back to that 3) Why can I still NOT book another volume booster via my account and every time have to phone or ask for a new debit via email. This must surely have to stop now and allow full transparency with other Europasat account options. It would be good to have a totally transportable option to allow immediate roaming throughout the Europasat coverage without the necessity to pay 30 Pounds every time one re connects ie with multiple systems on PAYG I could simple log in and out where and when I wanted. If that were so I would give up my land line broadband. 4 being a PAYG user to have vironment to roll over unused volume booster credit would really make this the perfect system for us. Having existing credit cut off after 3 months has meant we have lost a lot of revenue from unused usage, as by its very nature PAYG is an on demand option. 5) I wonder if by filling this in I am likely to get a volume booster credit for my time? If you are out of range of landline or fibre broadband, satellite is an option to consider. Installation is expensive and the monthly charge is more than the others, but if your only option is 3G mobile or 56K modem, then I think that it is worth it.
