So sloooow on the internet, my email hangs. But fast for large downloads

Hi Ian. Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. If you have particular concerns, can we ask that you call our Technical Team when you are experiencing the particularly slow speeds and they can investigate for you. Also, you have gone over your data limit which means your speeds have been throttled, if you would like to reset your data, you can for half the monthly cost and your speeds will go up to normal again. We have been extremely impressed by both the service itself and the customer support. The staff have been incredibly helpful. Our installation is in a very rural area in central Europe and compared to the fixed line service we had the satellite service is still a revelation. Speed and reliability is excellent. Without hesitation we would highly recommend Europasat.

It would be easier for us to pay for unlimited acces to the internet instead of a certain GB per month.

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. We are really pleased that you are happy with your satellite broadband system. Satellite will be more expensive that standard ADSL broadband due to the amount of funding that has been ploughed into the new Technology. However, we are hoping that this will reduce as the option becomes more 'mainstream'. We do not offer a truly unlimited data tariff. Kind Regards, Europasat Team

The service as a whole is just satisfactory. It seems as the day moves on the service suffers. It becomes unusable for anything but email/browsing in the evening. It does lend itself well to smart TV technology especially within the time constraints as mentioned above. The claims of fibre optic parity cannot be always claimed due to the ping time and subsequent latency. All in all if I knew what I knew now I would give the purchase of the system some serious thought due to the negatives I have encountered

The speeds you are receiving could be due to the amount of people on the network at any given time as this is a shared network and for this reason, we cannot guarantee any kind of headline speeds. This is also why your speeds may be lower during the late afternoon till late at night simply due to the amount of people using the bandwidth. Please also be aware that the services is an up-to service which means the 20MB/s is not a guaranteed speed. Had this installed earlier this year and have been happy with it in respect to working 24hrs a day and with no hicups from weather conditions. I use their speed control panel but do not believe it as fo me it is quite a lot slower than I am used to. I shouldn't complain though as it's better than nothing or intermittent internet, as I used to have.

Customer service is hit and miss. Guy called Francois is very good. I couldn't get their modem working with my Apple AirPort Extreme and they were unable to offer any assistance or support, therefore I have been unable to use wifi so far. No idea what the reception or speeds are yet.

After an initial problem , with the dish being slightly warped (though not visible to the naked eye) and getting no signal, John Sidwell could not have been more helpful in testing the various elements and eventually sorting out the problem by obtaining a replacement dish. The system was working well when we left France late Sept. We are currently in the uk and not using the service, We return to France in March 2015 and hope we will have a good reception when we return>

Very good internet speed but vastly over priced. As soon as fibre is available in my location I will be cancelling Europasat. The download caps are not high enough and to upgrade to the next level is far too expensive. In my opinion the service is very good but is let down by the price.

Satellite delay can mean up to 5 seconds between pages. £25 for only 10 GBs of download is extremely expensive. Poor value.

Not exactly a 'recent purchase' as it was installed a year ago! Has performed well in this remote rural location without land-line broadband. Has given down-load speeds regularly between 12 and 20 Mb/s.

I have been with Europasat (Tooway originally) for 5 and a half years now. Great company to do business with. I would recommend them to anyone. Phil was very helpful on the phone today as everyone else I have had dealings with at Europasat have been too. Great product too. No hassles in my 5+ years with them.

The support guys are polite but 100% incapable to solve any issues. They are great in finding explanation on what is wrong and blaming you or some equipment that you have for it and they will never admit that is their problem even if you have tons of evidences to the contrary. By far the worse company i ever used, but because of where i live now i am stuck with them. If you can find an alternative i strongly suggest to take it and completely ignore this company and their services.

Reception speeds can vary, especially in bad weather. Benefits from occasional resetting of the ariel alignment.

I opted to install the system myself and found the installation instructions to be easy to follow. The system worked fine from the off with no further adjustment required. It is noticeably slower at peak times but not as bad as terrestrial broadband at about 4 km from the exchange. My concerns about rain/snow shadow have so far been unfounded. The router is connected to the computer via ethernet cable - no wireless. This is the main downfall of the system. Fitting a wireless access point has partially cured it but it keeps dropping and needs re-booted regularly (although this might just be a settings issue). Overall I am satisfied with Europasat and would recommend them.
