"I purchased a car from Evans Halshaw this year only to discover the tailgate was faulty and wouldn\u2019t operate on the electrics. 5 months have passed and the car is yet to be repaired. I attended the garage for the third time today for another attempted repair, only to be told they don\u2019t have a manual courtesy car available and they offered me an automatic. Once again explained I\u2019ve no experience driving an automatic and it wouldn\u2019t be safe to drive one away from the garage in a busy area in rush hour traffic. The customer services staff proceeded to patronise me in asking how I can\u2019t drive an automatic and telling me I\u2019ll have to one day. When I refused the vehicle on safety grounds I was told there\u2019s only one manual vehicle and it might not be available for further planned repair dates. So they can\u2019t guarantee a suitable courtesy car that I can drive and I\u2019m expected to just accept what I\u2019m given if I want warranty repairs carried out. To make matters worse my car was scratched when I left it with the garage the second time they attempted the repair."

"Only giving 1 star as can\u2019t give zero.\r\nThe salesman makes it sound like the best guarantee in the world and reading it it does sound great but just try and make a claim.\r\nThe guarantee isn\u2019t worth the paper it\u2019s printed on. They say parts actually have to fail to be covered. On a service it was found the track rod end was worn to be an MOT failure but as the part itself didn\u2019t actually fail, fixed it before to keep it maintained like you have too, it\u2019s not covered. Shock absorber leaking not covered as again the part hasn\u2019t failed. Seems the only way the guarantee might pay out is if the part fails car gets written off and they can then leave it to the insurance companies, so again no need to pay out.\r\nThey rarely answer phones so faceless emails from people who basically say not my problem. Wouldn\u2019t buy a car from them again if it was the best deal on the planet.\r\nDo yourself a favour go elsewhere and avoid these cheating cowboys"

"Purchased a car from Evanshalshaw in Bury and the car broke down on our way home.\r\n\r\nMy wife was driving with our three young children and all were very distressed. We were able to continue our journey home driving very carefully, amber engine light on all the way.\r\n\r\nNext day the car wouldn\u2019t start so we called the AA who came recommending the car shouldn\u2019t be driven and presented us with a lengthy fault report.\r\n\r\nI called the Evanshalshaw sales representative to have the car returned and was not called back or assisted in offered in anyway.\r\n\r\nI have since been calling to have the car collected and am being told I will have to pay, even though the car was not drivable and of um-merchantable quality.\r\n\r\nI\u2019m am left waiting for a call back to resolve this situation."
