“Although Hull Trains offered the cheapest ticket open-ended day ticket to London from Grantham, I had no idea that I would have to leave London by 20.30 that evening. I looked up train times that morning (NB - on the Hull Trains website!!), there was no mention anywhere that the last Hull Trains train back would be at 20.30. It listed all the trains that would be leaving Kings Cross that night. Obviously the ticket only allows you to travel on Hull Trains. So I rock up at Kings Cross Station shortly after 21.00, only to be told that my last train had gone and I would have to buy a Virgin ticket at vast expense. To say that I was upset was an understatement. I was pregnant, emotional, alone and obviously had no choice but to cough up. Seriously unimpressed!!!! I will NEVER use Hull Trains again.”
“I am happy to find some low fares through the advance booking system. Sometimes this enables me to travel first class which is a comfortable experience.
At these times I am usually very happy with the service I receive.
This week, I travelled up to Hull from Kings Cross on the 11.48 train. I received a very good service in the first class carriage from the staff who were very friendly and helpful.
On my last trip to Hull from London I also travelled first class but unfortunately I did not receive the politeness that is the usual standard. The waitress was rude and told me she didn't have time to wait for me to put the tea bag in the cup before she poured the water in.
I think you might have had complaints from other customers about this person as I do not see her featured in the latest copy of Looking Forward. Maybe she has now left her job.
The service is well operated and I have never been delayed.

“I love Hull Trains as they run direct rains to and from London. It is great to see the name of Hull mentioned so much in London. Booking tickets through their website is good too. I like the way they will send the tickets to you promptly at no extra charge.”
“I to London on a monthly basis to visit family and the trains are punctual. Very friendly staff who keep passengers informed throughout the journey. My only criticism is the luggage racks aren't big enough to take a cabin size bag and there can be a struggle for luggage space when the train is fully booked”
“Since the start up of HULL TRAINS it is the only service I use to get to LONDON, direct trains... so no hauling luggage on and off... the seats are comfortable. the carriages are clean, the toilets are clean, the staff pleasant and I sometimes travel 1st class which is also excellent.... In the past I have traveled to London 3/4 a year to visit family ..but now I am retired and have a SENIOR RAILCARD I use it much more frequently and to date have never been disappointed with the service I have received.”
“Have Travelled frequently by Hull Trains from Howden to London Kings Cross and have found them punctual efficient clean and friendly. The journey takes just over two hours and the buffet service is very good.”
“The staff are friendly and helpful. The trains seats are comfortable and roomy. The toilets are usually clean and equipped with paper and soap and the hand dryers work. When the trains are delayed I have always been kept informed. It is annoying to receive a refund that had to be used at a station rather than on-line. An icon to 'sign in' on the home page for buying tickets would be helpful. Keep going Hull Trains you are doing a good job.”
“I always book train tickets from Hull trains for my frequent trips to London and find them easy to purchase online.The advance tickets are what I usually buy and I don't generally have any problems getting the seat that suits me best.Also the bonus is that route from Hull to King's Cross is a direct one!”
