“I love Hull Trains. They are by far the best company for getting to and from Hull. I fffel at home when I am on one of your trains. Virgin East Coast do free wine in First Class. That's the only thing they beat you on!”
“Use your web site very regularly. Terrible problems via routes to Cleethorpes. Even had to pay twice when there was no train on preferred route. Will continue use your site as your deals are really good when they work.”
“My train on the 8th November was cancelled. Fortunately Virgin Trains accepted our tickets and looked after us extremely well. For the first time we booked first class tickets and weren't we pleased as there weren't nearly enough seats to accommodate all the Hull Train passengers. The worst thing was when we were told a driver hadn't turned up for work and there wasn't a replacement one. On the journey down to London on the 6th November we were booked on a Virgin Train but our train couldn't leave York as a Hull Train had broken down near Doncaster. Again a frustrating journey.”
“We travelled as three generations ( my little grandson's first train ride) from Brought to Hull on the way to London and Eurostar to our annual holiday and the same on the way back. Both journeys were on time, our reserved seats were ready for us and on board food and drink was good.
We have travelled also as a couple other times to London and back and it has always been a pleasant experience and we have always felt well looked after.”
“Your Staff are always friendly and helpful, even when there's been delays.
Keep up the good work Hull trains you could show some the other companies how it's done.
Would of given you a Very Good but I didn't get sat next to any tasty city gent.”
“Hull trains are usually relatively clean although after peaks this isn't always the case. I've never had any issues travelling with them and get trains quite frequently”
“Staff are for the most part incredibly helpful and polite. The train is always clean and comfortable with enough room for luggage. Definitely the best train company I have travelled with so far.”
“I travel to London at least every six weeks and do try to book Hull Trains if they fit in with my timetable. I prefer Hull Trains because it is a straight through service, it's friendly and very convenient. I hate changing at Doncaster station when a Hull Train service is not available. It would be great if the service was expanded. You can always be guaranteed of friendly staff. Keep up the service.”
“I used to enjoy travelling on Hull Trains but was angry recently when purchasing a ticket on line to find myself 'Ryanair'ed' by a mid-transaction hike in the the price. Fares have increased substantially in recent years without these stunts which verge on a con trick. Very poor service & treatment of a formerly regular customer.”
“Not only does First Hull Trains often offer the cheapest tickets, but they are reliable and rarely cancel/late. The seats are spacious and clean and the staff are always very friendly.”
“Found generally that tickets were cheaper with First Hull Trains than other East Coast rail providers between Doncaster/Retford and London (e.g. Virgin Trains East Coast) but that journey times were longer and the quality of the carriages/seating/luggage space did not compare with Virgin Trains. I also like that Virgin Trains East Coast are part of the Nectar programme of loyalty points which generally encourages me to book trains via them as they are quicker and offer points although I much preferred the original East Coast Rewards programme when they had the contract for the line as I felt this rewarded loyalty better. If First Hull Trains could offer a loyalty scheme this would certainly encourage me to book more tickets.”
