Although there is information on the site to explain the fee aspect of our service, I do appreciate you felt this was not prominent enough and I am sorry that this negatively affected your experience of finding your tutor. “The website is relatively easy to navigate and find tutors, with sufficient information about the tutors to make a decision whether to contact them. However, there is room for improvement: Registration only allows the parent to register, not the student. There is no option whether I am registering for myself or my child. In order to view the tutor's contact details, the tutor has to click on the "finder's fee" button to release payment of the finder's fee and subsequent display of contact details. This confused both the Tutor and myself and required clarification from the First Tutors.”

“The tutor I had arranged for my son and paid the Finder Fee for, has now withdrawn before we'd even met. I have spent hours finding a tutor and am most disappointed that I am back to square one.”

“I wasn't aware I needed to pay to obtain the information about the tutors. I think that aught to be pointed out at the beginning. I am a dance instructor and am connected to a couple of sites for people looking for tuition - there is no charge either to me as tutor or the potential student.”

“I was not sure as to how to find a good tutor that would fit our needs. First Tutors was very easy to use, extremely professional and provided a great platform with which to outline tutoring needs as well as review and communicate with tutors. I will definitely use First Tutors as my first go to for our tutoring needs.”

“First tutors was recommended to me by a family member who had also used the site so i decided to give it a go at finding a maths tutor for my daughter who is currently studying for her GCSE exams. I found the site very easy to use, no hidden costs, a wide range of local tutors across all subjects. I would definitely use again in the future if the need arose.”

“I really do not know how to rate you any better just for you doing your admin quick. If you have poor tutors that you do not vet in any way , I cannot score you highly. I am getting the feeling that tutors in my price range 30-50 pounds per hour just want to pass the time and have no regard for what the outcome of that time should be. I am so disappointing that I cannot work with any tutors as I expect some preparation from them and some quality for £50 or for any money. Last I paid for a tutor who did not bother getting in touch, when you made him get in touch he was so negative about the progress. Just beyond me , I will need to do it myself . The only option.”

“I found a good tutor through First Tutors, and would use them again. However, they should be clearer about their payment model: you pay to 'release' a tutor's details. The tutor I chose offered a 'free' first lesson to offset the cost of this, but many tutors don't.”
