Don't understand how you can allow individuals who have not even completed their GCSE'S register as a GCSE Tutor.

Thought that the choice of Tutors was very good. However, £ 14.99 'just' to receive the Tutor's main contact details was overly expensive, seeing that there is little expense in actually advertising on the internet. Perhaps, £ 7.99 would be a more realistic figure.

Dear Michael Thank you for your feedback.Our one-off fees are variable and linked to the tutor's price per hour to make our service as affordable as possible. Unlike conventional agencies, we do not charge on top of every hour a tutor teaches. Website Layout is ok. The whole payment amount wasn't clear that is was coming off the cost of going through First Tutors and I assumed it was for the first payment with the Tutor. My bad I guess.

I find the website to be not very user friendly. Eg... I'm having difficulty retracing my steps to find how much my chosen tutor charges and I can't find it ! Also , having made my choice and booked, I'm still being treated as if I haven't ....repeated alerts and non recognition of my current status.

We aim to make our service as user friendly as possible and have recently made some changes to the site layout/navigation to help make the process easier for all of our users. Difficult to use the website. You can contact a tutor and inadvertently end up paying and not be able to find a tutor that you like so lose the money. Customer service however was not too bad as they agreed to allocate this to the next year so we could try again. Would have been preferable to refund it as a genuine mistake rather than having been forced to wait a year and try again to use my £20 or so and this had been relayed to First Tutors. In the end we found a tutor a year later and are about to start working with her. Not enough tutors listed that will travel to the tutee rather than have you travel to them but a reasonable selection.

Efficient service, but I find that charging almost £20 for each contact of a tutor is too much, especially when you discover later that this tutor is not suitable for your request.

Ridiculous amount of e-mails, people responding who were not appropriate for school leaving cert grinds. There is no way I would pay anyone for whom English is a second language to tutor my son in English!! I got sick of the sight of the screen. One was a second year med student who would definitely not have the time commitment to give to grinds.

We have tutors for all levels and subjects, in the case of tutors that are studying at University, it is quite common for them to teach A and O levels. We also have many bilingual tutors who are qualified to teach in English. I see that you went ahead with a tutor that has a Bachelor's degree in Physics and has experience in teaching younger children. The site takes money every time you want to contact a tutor and it is not necessary every tutor is going to work for your child I feel this site is a rip off as you have to pay each time you want to contact a tutor .

Dear Khush, Thank you for your feedback. It is FREE to contact as many tutors as you wish via our website to discuss all your tuition needs via the private member's area. Only when/if you decide to go ahead with a tutor do you need to pay the intro fee. Once contact details are exchanged, if you find the tutor unsuitable or they have let you down in some way we ask that you leave feedback on their profile reflecting your disappointment, we then offer you another tutor at no further cost. Helpful website as there were lots of tutors offering different things for every subject and at different price ranges. However, the fee that you have to pay just to get the tutors details is ridiculous!

Dear Bethan, Thank you for your feedback. Our introductory fee helps cover the costs of our identity and reference checks, qualification checks, etc. Some agencies charge an additional £10 for every hour a tutor teaches. A tutor that charges £10 per hour will have a one off intro fee of £4.99 but a tutor that charges £40 per hour will have an intro fee of £19.99. (max. fee). I think that the tutors should be made to update their details/profiles on a move regular basis, e.g if they are no longer in a school teaching as stated on their profile they should be require to update this information. I found this an issue when looking for a tutor on your site and had to ask individuals yes or no are you still teaching in a school. This was important to my final decision firstly due to safety regarding disclosure and child protection also the introduction of the new G.C.S.E.'s syllabus. A simple no from a tutor would also have be helpful if they are not interested in your request as I delayed hiring awaiting replies that never came.

The premise is good and I found a lovely tutor very quickly who perfectly suited our needs. However the site is awful and needs completely rewriting. The interface is not intuitive or helpful. Once you've selected your tutor you lose contact details immediately unless you repay so you need to ensure that you've got contact details immediately you chose them and get a conversation going between you OUTSIDE the site. Great idea - poorly implemented.

While I did find a fantastic tutor from you - your website is truly awful. It's cluttered, unintuitive and took me several gos to work out how to use it. I think a lot of people would have given up.

Impossible to say as this is the first tutor website I have used. I found the whole process a bit of a a faff and had put something on the open market without realising and so got a few emails from tutors I had not contacted. It was also not clear how I responded to the tutors.
