“My Father died last year and I am selling his flat which is managed by First Port (previously Chamonix Estates).
I have been waiting over 8 weeks to pay for a management pack. Emailed numerous times. Phone calls...promised a call back and nothing. I'm about to lose my cash buyer and First Port don't care.
The flats have wooden balconies so have failed the external wall cladding survey so no mortgage company will lend on them. So a cash buyer is very valuable!
Waited over 65 mins to speak to someone this morning again after being promised a call back last week.
She couldn't help! Couldn't find the property...kept asking for a reference number (I wish I had one...that would mean someone had taken some action!)
I've just got off the phone and cried....
This on top of losing my Dad is dreadful.

“I live at Charlwood Court in Devon and we had a new manager start with us on March 1st this year, she has helped to keep in touch with my family in Australia by assisting me to learn how to use my new tablet, this has made such a difference me and I feel so much closer to them. Even though Mandy has only been here a short time she has helped us through many problems as she is always happy to listen.”
“I have been a resident at Highfield Court about 4 years now, and my first sight of the complex really impressed me, set in gardens with lawns, trees, fragrant shrubs and benches dotted about to sit and rest. The individual properties are nicely laid out and the manager, Avril Shaw does all she can to ensure the welfare of the residents, and I have always found her more than willing to try and deal with any problems that arise. She could not be more helpful. It is very reassuring too for us as residents to have a 24 hour alarm call system, accessed from every room as well from a personal call button that can be worn on wrist or round the neck, with the additional benefit that if we do not press a button each day to let Avril know we are ok she will make a point of coming to check for herself to make sure all is well.
It is a lovely place to have a home.”

“Manager Lorraine Park Gate
On the 15th of January I moved into Park Gate, from the onset things were difficult because of a flood caused by the flat opposite, I was unable to put all my belongings in place until the bedroom was dried out and redecorated, which I had a great deal of help and support from Lorraine she did every thing possible to make this period stress free for me.
Lorraine is a good communicator and ensured that at all times I knew and understood the time table and events relating to contractors visits.
I have a profound hearing loss, which makes things challenging for me. She explained everything to me and also to my family.
Sometimes when you’re deaf its easier not to speak to people. Not with Lorraine. She is very approachable and seems to understand my problem. She goes out of her way to make sure I understand. I am very fortunate to have her as the manager of this development. If it was possible to rate her with more stars I would have done.

“I would like to give the house manager Lyn at Chestnut Court, Castle Bromwich, Birmingham a review, my elderly Aunt has recently sold her apartment there as she now needs a nursing home, each time we have arrived at Chestnut Court Lyn has always been very polite, very helpful, very approachable if we ever needed to discuss anything regards Aunt. Lyn is always very pro active around the site, with the recent Covid situation, Lyn is always keeping the touch points clean, she always has time to speak to the residents who live there, she has even set up ' emergency food bank' incase any resident has to isolate, there is food supplies etc for them. My Aunt has lived at Chestnut Court for over 20 years, recently in December 2020 my Aunt, had a fall and broke her hip, Lyn rang family to let us know and stayed with my Aunt till the paramedics came and stayed till the paramedics left. I really do think that Lyn goes above and beyond her duties there as the house manager.”

“I would strongly advise anyone to rethink when considering purchasing a property managed by FirstPort. Their fees increase rapidly and furthermore when trying to sell they take so long to provide the Management Pack that the sale falls through, despite polite chasing on several occasions. The management pack to sell is expensive so one should expect a first class service and quick turnaround, sadly not the case.
Avoid this company if you can. There are plenty of leasehold properties managed by other companies far superior to FirstPort.
If you already own a property managed by them I strongly advise you to put forward changing the Management Company. This can be brought up at the AGM.”

“Pegasus Court in Leatherhead. My home is a spacious, comfortable 2 bed apartment. The building with its Juliet balconies looks inviting, is carpeted throughout, and surrounded by a lovely garden and 2 car parks: one for visitors, and the other gated underground one for the residents. Our development manager, efficient, friendly and helpful, makes sure that house and garden are well maintained and checks that everything within the communal areas is always in working order and to the standard of Health and Safety regulations. Her priority is the safety and well-being of the residents. Thanks to her and my lovely neighbours I feel safe and happy here. Thank you, Sara, you are a star. The service charges are rather high, but you get what you pay for!”
“Our father moved into Rivendell Court, Hall Green in May this year, it was a very stressful time as he could not go back to his house after a fall. We as a family had a lot of help and support from Robert Cartwright, the development manager. Rivendell has a nice atmosphere about it and is very well organised, I'm a frequent visitor and place is always clean and tidy and Robert is always around so that in itself is good peace of mind, and dad seems settled and comfortable in his flat. Dad enjoyed the lovely garden in the good weather.”
