“I ordered the San Francisco sourdough starter when I realised that people were price gouging yeast on eBay. I realised that The Alaskan starter might be better for a newbie taste wise. Freshly Fermented were excellent, they changed my order with no hassle and it arrived a couple of days later. I’ve been happily making sourdough bread for a couple of weeks and I would happily use Freshly Fermented again and highly recommend them.”

“Great cultures, good prices and instructions, and fast delivery considering the current environment. Since they are heirloom cultures they can be used indefinitely, but will be ordering again when I want to try something new!”

“I recently bought a SCOBY from freshly fermented, I cannot recommend my experience enough! Understandably, the was a while between ordering and delivery, due to covid-19; this was communicated clearly by freshly fermented, with regular updates on their website. But patience paid off and my expectations were exceeded! My scoby arrived happy, healthy and well packaged with an ample supply of starter tea. I'm a beginner brewer and have already had a successful first batch of kombucha; looking forward to many more. I have been bitten by the fermenting bug, and will definitely be returning to freshly fermented for my next project!”

“Fantastic! The milk kefir starter kit is exactly what I needed, I only wish I’d bought it sooner. When coronavirus struck and I couldn’t get Kefir in my local shop, I decided to make the (rather daunting) leap into making my own. The online step by step instructions really helped. When there were issues with delivery (through no fault of freshly fermented), customer services were quick to help. Will be recommending to friends and family!”

“Thank you for the 'Alaskan' sourdough and 'Rye' sourdough starters. They have made themselves at home and are thriving. They arrived in tip top condition, were fresh and ready for me to make a start on my sourdough journey. Tomorrow I'll be baking my second loaf....one of many I plan to make. I just love sourdough. “I have been unable to make my own sourdough starter so thought a ready-made one was worth a go. I bought the San Francisco starter and within a week was delighted to have delicious tangy sourdough. I like that the starter is more runny than some, as it doesn't grow lots so is easily contained. It's been fun using the small amount of discard in other recipes too. Great service from Freshly Fermented in these tricky times, and lots of useful information on their website.”

“Ordered water and milk kefir grains, I couldn't believe how fast the water grains reproduce and I think I have to recover them slightly after underfeeding, but if I had read the Freshly Fermented guidance more thoroughly, I wouldn't have put a foot wrong. Took about 3 days to receive the parcel after posting and everything packed really well. Both sets of grains worked perfectly from the start and now I've got an endless supply of probiotics, after a solid week of ingesting, I feel fantastic. Freshly Fermented is a great place to buy your grains when you want to start... DO IT NOW FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!”
