“Having read the reviews on this website I was full of trepidation before my order arrived I had ordered 4 different Penstemon plants either in bud or in flower. When they arrived thee were in flower the other had finished flowering two were identical the third different and the 4th unable to identify , only one had been labelled. Admittedly I was ordering the plants late in the season and they were pot bound but they had been reduced in price accordingly. I complained and I was asked to provide photographic evidence, their response was exemplary they immediately refunded in full including the postage and were extremely courteous with virtually immediate emails and provided a contact telephone no. This experience is at odds with all the negative entries to be had on this website which is at odds with the Trust pilot website,I am puzzled!”

“Had a damaged plant delivered which was rectified smartly , bought two standard roses last year and one this year and a black magnolia all lovely plants ,pity my photos would not download”

“Will never buy from again. Terrible company - if you have a problem there is no way to contact them by phone. There is a web contact but it does not allow you to describe the problem, it simply asks you to send photos. I sent photos and they wrote back saying 'plants are fine'. I emailed back to say they are not, but received no acknowledgement. The problem is we bought 6 trees, they packed three in a box that should have held two. The third pot was jammed above and between the two lower trees forcing the tree trunks to lean out and weaken their attachment to their roots. We now have two trees with a lovely upright stance and four which lean quite strongly and will not stand up straight. I guess we will need to try and stake them but this should not have been needed and is far from ideal. Clearly they have a penny pinching culture which puts profit way ahead of the quality of their plants or the service they provide to their customers.”

“Have received plants in good condition and in a timely manner from this company in the past. However my latest purchase has been notable by its absence. And the company studiously ignore any communication from me. Looking on here it would appear that something has changed and I am worried they have folded? 2 weeks since I placed my order and nothing….”

“Have been a frequent buyer from this company for many years, exceptional quality and customer service given at every time that i have contacted them on their chat. Review sites can be very one sided so do not be put off especially as they are live plants and vary from season to season. I'm a very happy life long gardener.”

“Ordered a Poinsettia tree for my relative who lives away from me, it arrived badly damaged in transit. It would have been beautiful but it lost most of its leaves in the box. Tia at customer service was really gracious about it and apologetic. They gave me a refund. Very good customer service I am extremely pleased.”

“Purchased numerous different Dahlia tubers for my elderly mum. Wasn't too sure when they arrived what they would be like as some were part of the end of season sale. Didn't need to worry, once planted they showed growth within days and are now nice plants, just waiting for them to flower. Very happy and would use Gardening Express again.”

“I ordered a few plants on 07/07. They arrived on 22/07 in absolute perfect condition (in a heatwave). Packaging perfect plants well watered. It did say 5 day delivery on homepage but I was kept informed that plants were been picked. There are numerous bad reviews about this company. It’s a shame more people don’t leave a positive review. Only takes a minute. I’ve ordered more. Thanks gardening express.”

“I didn't have much faith in getting a decent live correct plant after reading the appalling reviews on here, and having to wait a while for delivery but my plant arrived today, large lush and in flower well established and watered. It has spent some little time upside down and the box was damaged so slightly battered, but a couple of hours on is looking beautiful. I haven't had to water it as the soil is still very damp. I can't believe this company is suffering so many bad reviews. After waiting a while I had become to believe I had been scammed but that isn't the case at all. I am really really pleased.”

“I am a retired nursery owner. I spent in excess of £200 on advertised special offers before reading some unpleasant testimonials. My plants arrived today 12 days after ordering and I am delighted with everything. Strong bare root roses, excellent sturdy lavender and rosemary plants, 150 hyacinth and tulip bulbs just beginning to sprout and completely sound. Excellent value. Beautifully packed. Will definitely deal with this firm.”

“I have ordered several times and always happy with the plants. They are well packed and arrived at the time stated. If you order at the wrong season then you will wait, but I knew this, so not a problem. I have just ordered some dwarf fruit trees and in doing so came across all these negative reviews. A bit shocked, hope my trees arrive and are healthy like previous orders. These reviews could ruin this company, I would not have bought if I’d seen them first. Just hope not exaggerated as small business are finding it tough enough. Well done Gardening Express on my purchases so far and I really hope any satisfied customers take the time to post good reviews. I think reviews may be only posted when bad, and the dozens of happy customers don’t think it is necessary”
