***WORTH READING*** After uploading my NCD certificate into the Churchill customer portal and been accepted I obtain my insurance certificate and all is well, or is it......... A few weeks after taking out my policy I receive a letter advising I owe money to Churchill for an overlap on my NCD against another vehicle. I question why I would pay this £42 charge when my NCD certificate was accepted and money taken from my account, for the new policy no response from Churchill. I then receive a second letter advising Churchill can no longer insure me past August 2017. Ok no issue I will go hunting for a better deal next year. Still they take payments from my account. A week passes by and then I receive a letter (back dated) advising me I am no longer insured on my vehicle and my policy is void. To put it into context I had been driving nearly a week completely oblivious I was uninsured because Churchill decided to cancel my insurance policy without any notification other than a letter advising my policy would end in August 2017. What started as a small discrepancy about a fee surrounding my NCD has now quickly escalated into a potential small claims for Churchill as I've taken it to a lawyer to deal with. Churchill kept all of the money I paid for my policy, have taken no responsibility for their admin faults, I've had to take out a brand new policy with another provider and to compound how bad Churchill are they then charged me an extra fee because somehow their issue is my fault and their customer services team have gone into hiding as no one their has the decency to do the right thing and call an ex customer to smooth it over and accept liability. An abysmal company with zero morals, no customer care and no responsibility to their customers or other road users. I would hate to think what would have happened if I had crashed Churchill.

All fine, until you need them. Inclusive breakdown cover is a farce, and they do not clearly make customers aware that it is only valid for a year, nor that there is no home pickup option. It's all there I suspect, in font 4 on page 45 of a 100 page booklet... My recommendation: Either invest a couple of hours of time reading and committing the document to memory, or avoid. We will not be using them again.

Customer service is great untill you have a accident and have to deal with the Claims department. They are talk to you as if you are bothering them. They have a dont care attitude and just try to close the claim in the easyest way possible for them without investigating i had to take them to the F.O.S to get them to finally investigate my claim and accept it as a non fault. I will never insure with them again even if they are the cheapest might aswell have no insurance at all.

Involved in accidents three months ago. I was constantly phoning to find out situation with claim...ended up going to ombudsmen...fed up. Three weeks ago found out that other party is blaming me. Actually other party is solely responsible. No more contact from you. Gone to ombudsman again...

After being with Churchill for a few years for my building and content insurance I decided to do a comparison, to my astonishment by changing to another very reputable company I am going to save £30 per month for the same cover, when I looked further into my policy I was disgusted to find that they were also charging me £54 + extra for paying by direct debit. I have been a loyal customer to Churchill for a number of years and have had several different policies with them but this has left a bitter taste and I am now looking into changing all of my policies to other companies, naively I thought that long standing customers were looked after, how wrong can you be !!!!!!!!!! When I called them to discuss they were not that interested, didn't seem bothered I was cancelling the policy.

If you have a policy with this firm and you sell the car whilst looking for another to replace it , they will tell you that they will keep the policy in suspension until you find another or if you cancel it , they will charge you £50 . I put my policy in suspension as suggested whilst I looked for a replacement car but did not find the one I wanted before the end of the policy and then I get a letter giving proof of my no claims bonus but no refund for the suspended period of insurance !? I call them yesterday to see why , they said that they sent me a letter in January saying I could have the money back or a certificate of NCB ! I did not get this letter, just the proof of NCB. They told me that this is the default position if they didn't hear from me and as the policy had now expired there was no help they could give me . So they have trousered £300 odd for nothing !! Nice work if you can get it I think ? Be warned , the cuddly Bulldog does bit !!

Absolutely appalling catalogue of errors. Failed to log my claim. Failed to pass contact details on to garage. ( Aparently did not have the gumption to realise that I and my husband, who is named as a driver on my policy, might share the same landline as well as the same address) Failed to inform the garage that my car was not roadworthy due to the damage. Were quite dismissive( Jamie) about the inconvenience caused. My accident was on Thursday 31st March. I might receive my courtesy car on Wednesday 6th April. Simply not good enough.Additional cost including premium rate phone calls and possibly having to turn down work add to my annoyance.

Terrible customer services. Been waiting for 20 minutes, still no answer. They are renewing my policy without my agreement and apparently have all my credit card details on file. I didn't agree to that either. Avoid them, dreadful.

I have just moved two car insurance policies away from Churchill in a month due to what I can only describe as a complete pricing lottery. 5 years plus of business, 3 motor policies and they have just sent me out two renewals asking more than double the market rate on each. Even more worrying, I called them today. They were asking £480 on a policy that Go Compare quoted £183 for. Their own quote on Go Compare was £199. They immediately offered to price match that. So I could have easily paid them £480 for a product they offered later for £199. Worse, I said I would have a little think and ring them back. I decided to move the policy to Privilege, so I called Churchill to cancel the renewal. Just out of interest, I didn't mention the Go Compare quote and was told '£320 is the absolute best we can do'. Never mind Go Compare, Go Figure. In 48 hours I have been quoted £480, £320 and £199 on the same product. Bit of a variation. Being ripped off for being loyal is not OK. I fully expect to move the 3rd policy in the summer. Service has never been a problem from Churchill, but I will not stand being treated as a cash cow. Very disappointing, and a lesson learned for me not to be a lazy consumer or expect fair treatment.

Churchill is one of the worse car insurance company in uk. They will try to charge costumers extra for nothing . Charging costumers for cancelations or changing cars, for every thing. On renewing by adding a NCB to your policy should normally reduce your policy price down but churchill insurance will do they opposite which is charging extra
