I would have given no stars, but that doesn't seem to be an option. I have a pension with L&G, transferred to them by another company. I have been trying to access my money since the 21 Feb. There have been many and varied issues. The initial quotation process was difficult and every time I needed a re-quote it took a minimum of 5 days. After much cycling round quotes, I finally had an agreed quote, and sent in the application on 31 March. Was informed on 6 April that I needed to add in a date and that no payment could be made until I sent in the information. I responded immediately (6 April). Heard nothing, so chased on 21 April. Told that they had the info now and would look at my info next week (28 April). Very unhappy. Was promised a call from a manger, but it might be Monday, as the call was late Friday. Monday came, with no call. Rang the 'Help' line on Monday. Everyone went into a bit of a panic. Will send out a CHAPS payment, hopefully today (24 apr), but late in the day so might be tomorrow. Also a manager is keen to speak to you, but is on another call. If the manager can't speak to you today it will be first thing Tuesday. Heard nothing first thing Tuesday (25 April) and no money in my account. Rang the 'Help' line around 11:30 and after checking was told that the CHAPS payment had failed and they would try again tomorrow (Wed) and the money would be in the account on Friday (clearly not being sent by CHAPS if that's the case). Asked to speak to a manager again and two hours later I still haven't spoken to a manager. Processes are flawed and their attitude toward pension customers, if my experience is anything to go by, is one of complete indifference. If I could move my funds at no cost, I would do it in a heartbeat. St James Place took three weeks to do the same actions from initial discussion to funds in my account.

I have been trying to withdraw money from my ISA account. thinking it was an easy process, all I have is an error message. when I contact the helpline all I have is a recorded message saying that staff is on training until 9.30.. My calls were made at 10;15 and 10.22. I'm getting worried now, I need to get my money ASAP!!! I've read all these reviews on trust Pilot it's worrying. My Life insurance and ISA will be closed with you for sure!! Update; finally had someone who could not help. The agent sent an email to another service to see what they can do for me.. Appalling service!! so I guess I won't be able to withdraw money from my ISA today!!! Please do something about my case ASAP!!!! This is MY MONEY I NEED TO GET IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO IT!

We have a life policy with legal and general, my wife passed away 6 months ago of cancer, and we are still being asked ridiculous, not relevant questions, and to date no payout. Other life policies were paid out within 30 days of her death. Do not use Legal & General as you will be dealing with the most heartless and incompetent company, they have no intentions of paying out and are just liars and cheats.

This company took over my pension from GMAC/ Ally Bank. My payment were all set up by gmac and ready for payout. When the transfer was done i requested my payments start. They then tell me nothing was transfered and it would take 6 weeks to calculate . Loooong story short...months go bye. Lie and lie. Excuse after excuse. They will not email me so they done create a paper trail. Went to AG office. Seems like a ligit company but all i have seen is fraud.

Legal and General tell me my pension has been devalued by 2 thirds, through being transferred in and out of Serps. Back in 1982 , I've shown them prove from a letter from 1999 that proves the pension wasn't devalued through the Serps. Still someone called James Hill from legal and general, tells me over a telephone conversation, that my MP has told him who is involved in trying to get this sorted out, that HMRC as told her Iam not entitled to anything and he was very happy to hear this. I've spoken to HMRC and they have said the pension hasn't been devalued through Serps and they don't get involved with private pensions. I find James Hill attitude very disturbing and it has caused me a lot of stress, what sort of a advertisement is this for legal and General, you can put your money in but get nothing in return?? An annuity was ending with a previous provider (Canada Life) and I asked Retirement Line to obtain new quotes for a 10 year annuity. This was back in November /December 22. A quote from Legal and General was offered, which included cover for my wife should I pop off before the plan ended. It was not the best, but the cover and price swung the deal. I agreed the quote and the money was transferred from my previous provider on Dec 12th 2022 to Legal and General. They then sat on it and did nothing. yesterday Retirement line then sent me a new quote from Legal and General. But we had already contractually agreed a deal-hence why the pension pot had been transferred to them, but this time the quote was thousands of pounds less. So they offered a quote, I accepted, the money changed hands into their bank, and then they sat on it and reneged on the original agreed contract and sent a much lower quote. Apart from breaking a contract, if there were none, they would not have got the money, they never contacted me, reneged on the deal and acted unethically and obviously now feel they have me over a barrel because they have my entire pension pot. What an outrageous way to deal with a client after I accepted their quote and sent them my money. Unscrupulous, unethical and un trustworthy. Definitely one to avoid especially at a critical time dealing with your life savings and pension.

Started claim on terminal illness policy expecting it to be sorted within a few weeks. It's now 6 months down the line with constant requests for more information from my oncologist. They don't chase up requests for oncology information, that's your job. I have no doubt they will drag this on in the hope I survive more than 12 months. I could write a book on how incompetent these scammers are but I would just be repeating other reviews. Finally, please read these reviews and take note. Do not use L& G as you will be dealing with the most heartless and incompetent company when you need professional and caring people at a stressful time. Good luck.

It has taken seven months for you to come to a conclusion on a health and sickness policy it is totally disgusting the way you have treated us and unexceptable I will never use legal and general again no wonder you have such bad reviews

One star is too much, should be zero. This is the worse experience I ever had in my life and they are making me very very sick, stressed and vomiting. They don't want to pay my little pension pot. They don't want to give me my money!! After weeks the problem looked solved and I have an email with the payment approval. When time for payment arrived nobody looks to know nothing and we started again from the beginning with the same nightmare. Awful, I really have no words. On the phone you have always different people, sometimes rude and not able to read all the emails. I have two contacts, one the trustees, both disappeared. I am going futher asking help to Ombudsman and I will do my best to discourage people to take Legal & General as pension provider because what they are doing to me is not legal at all.

This company is the worst company ever! I have taken out asalaey protection with them. I have been off sick due to severe morning sickness, dehydration as a results of pregnancy . I contacted them and completed all paper work in the first month. It’s now 7months and I haven’t been paid. I pay more thann60£ a month. They are extremely incompetent and unhelpful. They try to ask for information that are just too irrelevant. After they are given the information they come out with one thing or the other. Then the person dealing with your claim is off sick and then your case is left for weeks and weeks unattended. The funny thing is they try and deny they have recieved information even when u know it was sent, I have to challenge them severally before some accepts responsibility. My medical notes were sent 2months to them without anyone realising it was recieved. They then denied and I had to go back and for with them for weeks. Then they came up with something else. I will never recommend this company for any form of insurance. They are a pain, incompetent and very very very unhelpful. It’s now 7months and they still haven’t paid my policy out. I now have to borrow to cover mortgage and even help care for my children. Legal and general are a waste. I am taking them on with the ombudsman, beginning the process tomorrow. For your sanity in difficult time and situations don’t take out any policy with these guys (L&G).

Have got 2 life policies one each for self and wife. Lost count of requests to update POLICY OWNERS DETAILS have called 3 times and returned forms TWICE, NOW JUST GOT ANOTHER. I don't think the left hand knows its got a right never mind what it's doing. PATHETIC PATHETIC PATHETIC.

Wife died 2 months ago. Can't get anywhere with them. She died in hospital flu and kidney disease and cervical cancer. Sending letters for my wife to sign for access to her medical records. I'll keep you posted if I have any success.

They are just incredibly inefficient, I've been trying for two months to get my small pension pot payout from them and have got nowhere, they keep sending me the wrong forms and I just seem to be going round in circles.

L&G are refusing to send my husband a p45 to prove our income for the last tax year to support my student finance application. My husband has a brain injury and we feel the company may be discriminating against him and not taking him seriously. I have called myself and there is a promise to resolve the situation. Is this because I am not disabled? Will they actually resolve this? Very poor, stress and anxiety inducing, disheartening and lacking in understanding of the consequences of this shocking experience.

Please don’t ever use this company I was dinosed with cansor with out treatment I was given 6/12 months on contacting lg all they did was look into your medical records 8 months looking for a reason to cancel the policy living with cancer is heartbreaking for you and family this company has a track record of.

They keep calling me on many different numbers and despite me constantly asking them to take me off their data base I have now recently been getting calls from No Number - they are getting increasingly aggressive in attitude - I do no have any policies with you and I will never use you. I have emailed and telephoned and now will try this! Your employees I have cone across are rude arrogant and I’m not interested! AVOID AVOID AVOID
