I've never struggled to pay an insurance company before, normally they snap my arm off for every last penny but Legal and General have managed to provide me with a litany of firsts. - First company ever to force me to reset my password to something new, literally every time I log in. I'm up to 7 times in a two month period. - First company to enforce the special characters I can use in my password, presumably because their IT team is not up to scratch and cannot setup their website properly. - First company to not be able to provide me access to my account because someone else at my address also has a policy with them. Also the only company I've ever dealt with that take my money via direct debit and return it, consistently, two days later, before sending a message to complain I haven't paid. Then you try and get in contact and wait and wait and wait. Don't bother, I've cancelled the account. Based on what I've seen of their IT, I've also asked them to remove all my data, I'm sure they'll be the next company in the news about a data breach.

Mother passed away in August 2020 with L&G Life Insurance Policy. They are STILL to this day (April 2021), disputing whether she is actually legally dead, and refusing to accept the death certificate. This is obviously because they put the payout money into an account with massive interest whilst they scramble to find a loophole so they don't have to pay out. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Legal & General Pet Insurance don't even deserve a star. I no longer know if my pet is still insured, no policy details for the year 2021 - 2022 have been sent out, phone calls to them are a waste of time as no one seems to know what they're doing, emails are rarely, if ever replied to, it took them almost 8 months to finally send out claim settlements....the list goes on. Even my Vet is fed up with them and is finding it almost impossible to work out how much I owe them, due to Legal & General Pet Insurance being an absolute nightmare to deal with. Do not go near this company for ANY insurance if you value your sanity and peace of mind.

Should it really take 50 days to get my money from my pension? The best solution is to transfer your money to another reputable company, and you will get your money a lot quicker than 50 days! Do your homework though on the company that you are transferring your money to.

customer service is completely unacceptable, to resolve simple issue its taking months, even today its not dealt with. All I get from customer service, we are busy and it will taking longer.(HOW LONG 1 YEAR)? my advise to all, never use L&G again.

Would give no stars if possible, do not use at any cost, still taking payments from deceased persons account nearly a year on and no settlement and no way forward, quite unbelievable really.

I had Home Insurance cover with L&G for about 6 years which I wanted to discuss as I've not had any paperwork or emails such as renewel documention etc for at least the last 3 years. I have just tried calling and after spending the last 45 minutes on hold with no luck in speaking to someone have completed the online request form. Apparently I will get contacted in the next 48 hours but I'm not holding my breath. My issue is non urgent but if this is how poor customer service is I will just cancel the direct debit and take my business elsewhere

Avoid. Extremely poor customer service. Significant breach of Data protection, sharing my personal identifiable information with two third parties. They consider a dog that has had previous ear infections as a dog with an ongoing condition. Different ears. Different infections. Different causes. Wouldn’t pay out a meagre claim.

DO NOT USE FOR HOME INSURANCE! Having taken over L&G home insurance, my thanks for 4 years custom is a £75 price hike on £470 PA insurance premium with no claims: A 16% RISE. This is blatant profiteering. Absolutely no offer of reduction when I phoned. Will be leaving them ASAP. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Trying to get a draw down from my pension. Having completed all the forms, security, supplied the correct documents. The value of the funds since my initial request is falling daily and yet they have not paid me a penny, failed to take calls, never emailed as promised. Multiple promises of calling me and never do. Web site is also the worst in the financial industry so limited and very poor

I have been in touch with legal and general 3 times about downloading MY PENSION, to my account and all i am getting is excuses as to why it hasn't!! The last person i spoke to said it will be in my account on a certain date and it hasn't happened, that is a LIE. What reputable company lies to it's customers.

Legal & General Pet Insurance will search high and low to find any reason not to pay out on a claim. Not only do they expect customers to wait 2+ months after submitting a claim, they reject it after they've scanned their T&Cs and interpreted them in a way to suite them. I had always assumed L&G were a reputable organisation who operate to the highest moral/ethical standards however this is not the case. I have a couple of policies with L&G which will now be cancelled. They're not getting a penny more from me and I would suggest to others to steer clear! A disgrace to the industry!

Please don't bother insuring yourselves for life cover with this firm as they don't pay out when you die of COVID-19 if there was a 0 star for effort and empathy then I'm sure they would qualify. As a business professional I have never experienced such weak excuses from a company not to pay a small life cover that another rival company did!!!. They will happily take your money for years but beware down the line if you think your loved ones will be looked after think again! Shame on you !!

Don't use Legal & General pet insurance. They sent me a renewal notice on 17/02/21 dated the 10/02/21 telling me my renewal was due on the 11/02/21. They'd already taken the money out of my account without me even seeing the renewal. Can't get through on the phone and they don't respond to my emails. Terrible service DO NOT USE THEM.

Do not touch this company. Deceiving fraudulent rude never pay out claims and clearly know how to take your money.shamefull.will be in touch with watch dog program and trading standards as you need to be exposed for such appalling and so damaging to customers claims

Sir, Madam, I logged in a complaint on 19/08/20 I received an acknowledgement from Legal and General that my complaint was “being processed” on 26/08/20 I asked for update on 09/09/20 I received another acknowledgement from Legal and General that my complaint was “being processed” on 15/09/20 I asked again for an update on 14/10/20 I asked again for an update on 07/11/20 I asked again for an update on 25/11/20 I asked again for an update on 09/01/21 I received on 12/01/21 a blunt email, automatically generated from Legal and General, asking me to create an account and read my message… Subject: BESECURE. FW: Your Complaint with Legal & General I discovered on the 12/01/21, that I have an email from Legal and General dated 08/10/20. I never got a notification and I never created an account or been asked to create an account or been told that if I don’t have an account I cannot receive email from Legal and General. The automatic renewal of our insurance contract costed us 20% more than the first year. It was not mentioned in any notification we received. There was no visibility on this huge increase. Then it proved impossible to talked to someone and get a reply as to how this could happen without warning us. Your customer services department is really the worst I ever saw. Now, I request you to stop the automatic renewal of our contract, because obviously, we will not continue with Legal and General. And I want a reply to my email, not your hidden own mailbox created by Legal and General. Sincerely gutted and disappointed. Kind regards

To refer to these low lives as pond scum would be an insult to aquatic weeds. They take your money for years and when you make a claim, they search high and low for caveats in their terms and conditions to weasel out of paying. Not only that, whilst they "process" your claim they will take months to "investigate" potential conflict of their hidden T&C clauses, whilst still charging you your monthly premiums. You have to chase and chase and listen to excuse after excuse about the underwriters being busy, before eventually being told they are making your policy invalid.

Me and my husband has a police with L&G My husband got diagnosed with terminal cancer sep20 And I have been trying to claim on my policy for the terminal illness as my husband has less then 12months to live. I’ve had no correspondence from this company I’m the one that’s been chasing this claim up They wrote to my husband GP they said which when this came out was not even my husband GP was not even in the same city Then I get told they had all the info they need off hospital and GP and is being looked at then to be told then needs scans why if a professional informs them regarding the terminal illness and when was diagnosed Then I get told they need more info off the GP As u can imagine this is a selfish time for my family in mind my husband is 46 years old and we have children I feel that u claim on terminal illness so u can spend this money as a family before the person passes Well at this rate my husband will be passed And I don’t know if I can cover his funeral I feel this is poor service from this company and also they are still taking my husband monthly fee even thou they are not doing anything I would not recommend this company and I’m sure to say I will be stopping my policy and taking my business else where. As I feel they should be supporting people at the time off the claim not making it as difficulty as possible

Rubbish, 3 months to settle pet insurance claim, very poor correspondence, I have life insurance and other pet insurance with them, these will not be renewed at renewal, I will take my business elsewhere.
