I have been with MCE for 5 years without any claims or convistions. My renewal was due on 3rd jan. Tried to renew online over Christmas was unable to and rang first thing on the 3rd to be told that as it had expired at 12.59 on the 2nd jan I needed to obtain a new quote from their website. I did so and the new quote was 25% more than I was offered on the renewal quotation with no change in circumstances. I queried this and was told that it would be unfair to offer the same discounts to new clients as existing and there was nothing they could do about it !! Also told that if I wasn't happy I should obtain other quotes on line. Unfortunately I didn't look at any other quotes until I had swallowed MCE's price rise and lodged the insurance with them. I could have saved myself £90 on the £350 premium with MCE which also contained a huge excess in comparison. Very poor service / customer retention and will certainly be looking to switch next year.

I got my renewal through, and it was over 80% more than last years policy. And that is with no new claims or convictions, and another year's NCB. I contacted them to ask why it'd gone up, and got a very blunt response that I should shop around for a better deal. Very disappointed.

Very easy to sort out insurance. Very straightforward. Didn’t have to interact or call. Price was very competitive. I’ve just recently gained my full bike license

I’m very happy with your customer service. The best part is you can do everything online through customer portal and not over the phone, when not everything is always clear and confirming. I also like that you have option of automatic renewal. I can activate or deactivate that option whenever I like. And last thing I like is that you do your homework now. When I checked all comparing sites to choose my insurance for renewal, you were on top, offering me the same, cheapest price I’ve got from you in the email. Good job, guys!

I have insured with MCE for over ten years. I recently claimed for the theft of two bikes. After a thorough investigation the claim was paid in full, minus my excess. I subsequently insured a new bike with MCE online, which is an improvement over the old system. The new premium is on the high side, but not surprising under the circumstances. MCE is definitely better now than it used to be.

Happy with your cover and how promptly my theft claim was sorted, enabling me to get back on the road asap. This year you forgot to contact me for renewal which caused me grief, and I miss your excellent sales dept; getting a quote online was a drag.

My insurance run out on the 3rd December and on the 4th I had to renew it by going back on to a site as you would not let me renew it and it cost me £25 more I’ve been with you for ten years so I’m not happy and also I’m not happy that I can’t ring and do my insurance over the phone next year I will go to someone who I can talk to on the phone many thanks.

I know that I'm insured Disappointed that despite being do careful, no accidents in the last year insurance has as good as doubled with no clear reason why. It's making me think about getting rid of the bike as I've now paid nearly the cost of the bike in insurance in the last 2yrs
