All I wanted was to change address. I left MCE after 4 years because my stolen/damaged bike was four months getting fixed. My new underwriter declined my address change because they were (I was told) going out of that business. Only five months into their policy and with a preposterous quote from the front end provider I had to write that off and chose to start over with MCE. My premium was almost doubled since may last MCE policy which implies your 'no claims protection' is mendacious and I am being further penalised for my no fault claim. The person I spoke with was sympathetic and helpful so this is a price-only complaint and she is why you get one extra star!

My insurance documents were sent through on my email address but headed Dear Chris which is my son's name. I emailed them twice to point this out but have still not received a response weeks later! Pretty poor

Initial renewal quote significantly higher than their quote via a price comparison website (£320 v £260 or 20%). Call centre drone agreed that best/only sensible course of action was to allow current insurance to lapse and buy "new" online. Advised that documentation for the new policy would be available via their customer portal - important bits, like everything except the covering letter, missing. What, you expect fair dealing and efficiency from the financial services industry?

I failed to get a reminder that my insurance was due to expire. Only informed after the policy expired. Renewed (didn't have time to shop around) with a 28% increase in premium though bike and I now older and both worth less. Despite 3 emails and logging onto portal still did not get the new documents until lengthy phone call today. Call centre staff are always helpful and courteous but I get the impression they are as frustrated as I am with their computer systems. I'll be shopping around again next year as this problem happened last year too.

This is only based on my experience when making a Claim. Other than this my experience with them for anything else has been good. Even when my Bike broke down, they were really helpful in getting me picked up and taken home. In terms of claiming after an incident. The experience I have had hasn't been the best. At this moment in time I have recieved an offer from MCE/Plantec on behalf of the other party involved in the crash. Although I am contesting the amount being offered as I believe its too low based on the current market. Im being told to accept the cheque and the other company will "top up" the amount if they decide to offer more. This doesnt sit well with me. The other issue I have had is with speaking to people at MCE Claims. Yesterday I was on hold for 1 hr 5 minutes, I wanted to see how long it was gonna take, as the average is about 20 minutes.

Tested my online quote with a telephone quote. My online quote was for 16 days before my renewal and MCE estimated £379.59. The telephone quote was for 4 days before my renewal and MCE estimated £414.00. They charge more for just in time renewals. Watch out peeps they're all the same, can't give you an honest quote whatsoever!!!

I cant believe every review is five star, not even John Lewis are that good. Why at renewal do they have to waste your time going though all the information about you they already have. every other insurance company/ Broker i have dealt with just ask if there have been any changes since last year. dealing with MCE is thirty minutes of my life i will never get back. dont expect review will appear as is not five star

I completed my insurance application on line and it quoted £238. When I went to pay it wouldn't accept payment so I used the telephone option. Although the operator could see my quote I had to go through the whole process again and was told it would be over £260 some £30 more! I challenged this and after the operator spoke with the manager it was reduced to £250. I was kept on the line for an excessively long time as I had to go through the quote process andthe many scipts the operator had to read me. I hope it is not a premier telephone. Not a pleasant experience.

I felt like I was just being milked. Got a quote online which was reasonable. That didn't go through for some reason and when I called, the salesman just kept warning me it wouldn't be the same as online. When I asked exactly why as all my details where the same he said the "yzf R6 and the yzf-R6" where different bikes and it cost an extra £500 when I refused on the basis it sounded like Bullshit he put me on hold for a few minutes and managed to get it for £200 cheaper but still was £300 over what had been quoted online. He kept mentioning they where the only ones who would insure me so It felt like they was just getting what they can. I understand it's business but if I get the same treatment on my renewal I'd rather sell the lot and go back to driving. The excuse about the dash being before the r6 is complete rubbish I've done research online. I've paid it now so this is just a rant but I feel abit mugged off if I'm honest.

Your insurance excess is frankly ridiculous. I have 11 NCD and have been riding for 27 years. My CBR1100XXW Super Blackbird is worth £1500 and the excess is £850 on a fully comp policy. I then spent 1 hour messing about on hold to get through the call centre. Yes...I bought the insurance - it is a multi bike policy as I am insuring a R6 too - but just don't feel like it is a fair deal. And then I asked the advisor to send me information about MCE and BSB and the offers that customers get to get into the paddock and so. He sent nothing. So, lots of la la about customer service and MCE being the bikers friend. Not so.

Well, first off you didn't do as well with quotes. But more importantly than that, you shared my email address with a third party. I don't know who bauermedia are, and I don't care either. What I do know is that, being a proper software engineer, I can turn this email address OFF without affecting my legitimate correspondents. I will also pass on the fact that MCN make themselves a real pain in the butt, do not provide competitive quotes SO BEST BE AVOIDED.

Poor software led to incorrect information and my premium being raised. When i then wanted to cancel charges were applied so stuck with it. Never againp

The advisor I spoke with was completely uninterested in me as a customer and I felt it was a hard sell rather than a partnership.

I did my insurance online and at no point on the breakdown part is there a drop down menu to upgrade the useless roadside cover. Yes I broke down, the 20 miles recovery then drop you off is rubbish, let alone £1.50 a mile there after to get you home. Yes you can up grade but it takes a week from when you ring to become active but not on a sunday .Dont break down on a sunday ffs, and unless you live less than 20 miles from where you are its pointless. The call centre dont give a rats arse about your situation.

I don't have a problem with the large excess on my insurance of £2000. At the end of the day, the insurance was £500 cheaper than the nearest competitor. What I DO have a problem with was the follow up pressure sales call disguised as a "checkup" when really they were trying to find a way to up my monthly payments. I hate these types of calls and as soon as I have the option to, I will be switching insurer immediately.

If asked, by email notification, to ring to renew my policy, I should not be asked upon ringing if I already have a quote. When getting a quote I should not be informed that I can probably get a cheaper quote by not following the notification to ring but to disregard that notification and not ring and go on-line. If I choose to be loyal to a company there should be a loyalty bonus for that loyalty. Not a higher price than for those who are not loyal.
