“They will be nice and professional until they have your money. After that it's an absolute rip off for anything you ask for like changing your car or cancelling the policy or doing any amendments. READ THE CONTRACT VERY WELL”

“Absolutely appalling. Ripping people off when cancelling insurance of 75% of the value paid for the policy only after 4 months of the policy started. PLUS FEE. AVOID AT ALL COST.”

“this company is the worst iv been with they given me quote an excess fee from the price i paid for my bike to find out they then do a valuation of ur bike anyway disregarding the price u paid nill voiding the policy been completely ripped off not only was my bike stolen by thieves but the insurance also robbed me by not paying out i would never recommend this company to anybody !!!!!!”

“I only gave this company a 1 because there wasn't a minus option!! Absolutely shocking experience!!! I wish I had read the reviews before I insured my bike as I would have thought twice. Yes they are cheap but there is a reason for that. They don't deal with your calls, it costs a fortune to ring them, they don't respond, they drag their heals, they request the same information over and over again, they still take your monthly payments and your insurance will be void if you don't continue to pay despite not having a bike, they reduce your overall pay at the end by the full year's insurance no matter how long you have had the bike, they reduce it by anything they can i.e. if you don't have the full service history at the exact time they deduct 10%, you have to repeatedly chase them and getting your money is like getting blood out of a stone! Oh and when eventually you do get a settlement which is not anywhere near what you paid, you don't get your money for months! If you had finance on a bike with this company and something happened you would never get the money to pay your finance off no way! I am not someone who regularly writes reviews but I was so appalled by this company I just had to let other people know how shockingly bad they are before they too suffered the same completely unacceptable service that I received. SHOCKING!”

“What an absolutely horrible insurance company! Took me 4 months and £175 in telephone calls before they wrote my bike off after my no fault accident. Even after the 3rd party's company settled with them, they withheld my NCD. Their staff are incompetent to a man and they have no system for recording customer complaints. AVOID AT ALL COST!”

“Finally got my claim and compensation 10 months after my bike was stolen. Only got this via the Financial Ombudsman. The Ombudsman was great but absolutely flabbergasted by MCE's total and utter failure to honour a clear agreement. Even after the FO's ruling they tried to only pay half and I had to ask the FO to chase every day for two weeks. They are genuinely crooked - and that's official!”

“Avoid at all costs. These guys are in a league of their own . Will get you a cheap quote and why not, they wont pay anything like they should if you have to make a claim.”

“Have you noticed that all of the bad reviews stem from people who've actually had to involve MCE in a particular incident? They're great until you need to speak to them about ANYTHING. I had to cancel my policy after 2 months because I ended up selling my bike. I paid £437 up front, 2 months payment should equate to about £73 in total. The total amount they've told me they'd refund me is £197 - So that's an additional £170 worth of charges and % fees on top of what I've already paid for the 2 months insurance that I've used. In addition to this, I had to hold on the line multiple times for up to an hour just to cancel my policy. They even attempted to charge me for 3 months of my policy because I called up a day after a full 2 months, but luckily I sent an email the day before so they let it slide. I've received no email confirmation of my cancellation or refund so I'll probably have to ring them back to make sure it has actually gone through; and I'll probably have to endure another 40 minute holding time. All insurance companies bend you over, but I feel well and truly screwed by MCE. Stay away.”

“Nightmare company to deal with in the unfortunate event of making a claim!! MCE do not honor their written documentation, or their verbal word. Ended up dealing with Insurance Ombersman for resolution, process delayed/stalled by MCE for over 3months. They just add additional excesses to the policy not described in their PDS. MCE will scalp you wherever possible. Look elsewhere as you do not want the timely stress and headaches. Amateurs!”
