... the process is like buying insurance in 1993 - call them up and wait on hold for ages... massively overpriced, extroardinarily bad customer interface, they make you feel like you're trying to rip them off even when you're renewing a policy and add ££ to your premium for ridiculous reasons - I get that this is an industry long overdue for disruption but these guys are next level bad

I had good service but the registration is wrong on my policy it's m19 hyp not m18 hyp I hope we can easily rectify this problem. I will await a reply thank you

Absolutely no help what so ever….been waiting ages to settled a claim and still nothing. Worst customer service I’ve had so far!! Wouldn’t recommend for car insurance

telephone call waited for over 35 minutes (two different calls as I have to work), finally got through to a call assistant who said they could not complete the task of simple renewal (to a quote I had received on an email. Gave up on Phone comms, and tried on internet, but could not access the quote I had been given, had to go through the entire process again, and then got a quote higher than the previously received quote, and could not get the system to match it. Out of time due to concurrent work pressures I conceded tot he marginally higher quote as I was now behind with all work in my day job. Really poor system set-up and inadequate staffing. Internet portal designers should look at other vendors and up their game. MCE are losing revenue and customers due to the above. Sad to see.

I went to renew my motorbike insurance with MCE as I have done for the last few years. My experience with the customer care team was unpleasant to say the least 'do you want this insurance or not attitude'

Infuriating. Spent over a week trying to get through on the phone. Endless hours waiting on hold and getting cut off. I just want to renew - but I have questions and I need to talk to someone. You have made this customer cry. Do you care? I doubt it. You have wasted so much of my time. Will you contact me? No, of course you won't.

Very poor telephony service. Wanted to renew my insurance. Phoned at least 10 times. To be put through to the same persons, who’s English was a second language. I had to the repeat myself several times, sometimes having to raise my voice. I was then transferred to renewals. Phone was cut off each time. Very poor line quality (not my line) when speaking to anyone. Was going to insure with another company, but they quoted more. I finally renewed using the MCE website. Shockingly bad service. Very disappointed. This is a shame as always been happy to use MCE. Will be looking else where next year.

Absolutely shocking I spent ages looking for a phone number as I needed desperately to talk to an agent this has cost me more money and I am absolutely angry terrible

Waited ages for someone to answer, finally, on a really bad phone line, had to shout 4 times for my postcode didn't help that English was a 2nd language to the person on the other end and everything thereafter needed repeated. Then so much waiting whilst "the system loaded my quote" took over an hour to do what should have been 10 mins.

Customer service staff are very hit and miss. One guy put his phone down on me rather than listen to what I was saying. Online quotes disapear if you do actually get through to Customer Services and you can no longer go back on line and continue with them. You have to start the whole process again back on the internet. Customer Services can't give new quotes over the phone you are forced to go back on line. The system is a mess. I dread what would happen if I ever needed to claim. It would be an utter nightmare. The company needs a comlete review of it's processes. It has lost it's way.

I took a motorcycle policy out last night 1st June and I am regretting already contact is dam near impossible even web chat doesn't work.

STAY AWAY! Absolutely terrible customer service - for a simple renewal process (I had received an email quote a few days prior), had to call them and wait on hold for over 20 minutes. Once you get through to someone in their Vietnamese call centre (with a terrible connection quality and a HUGE delay which makes communicating even more difficult) you have to give them all the original information again, and even though I was just wanting to activate the quote they sent me a few days prior, they said that they needed to generate a new quote - which came in at more than £100 more than the reneway quote I received via email! STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY!

Really disappointing to find that the recovery aspect of the MCE Insurance has a 10 day 'weasel period' where they do not honour any form of recovery despite you you taking it out with them. So your year worth of cover is actually 365 days minus 10! What galls me most is the fact I have been insured with MCE for a few years and because the insurance did not automatically renew and the link to Quote zone renewal link did not work they applied a new policy rule to me and so when I tried to make a recovery request (first one in 35 year plus motorcycling) they refused it as I was within the 10 day rule despite seeing I had a previous policy with them! Result was stranded in Scotland from a tour from South England and lame apology that nothing could be done unless I was willing to pay £1400 plus recovery fee, which seemed a tad steep when I have paid for recovery bundled with the insurance! I was left totally stranded in middle of no where and they were no help unless I paid rip off recovery fee which I had thought was what I had paid for !!! Pretty lame to say the least.

This company is 1 big scam. They called me asking for refund of money they never sent me, blaming it on an IT mishap. Then threatened me with court if I didn't pay it. Have had to bring in lawyers. Have spoken to other riders who have had the same issue.

Very poor service. I rang to make a change to my policy they got the dates wrong which meant I had no cover. Initially tried the on line chat but the adviser could not understand my problem never mind fix it. Spoke to an adviser who said a manager would ring me back same day but no one rang for 2 days. Rang a total of 6 times and no-one could make a date change to the policy. Kept getting transferred to other departments and got cut off 3 times. They even tried the old ploy of customer service centres saying that all managers were in a meeting. In the end got temporary cover which cost me an additional £93.42 which I'm going to try to claim back.
