I’ve ridden for 15 years & have full NCP. I changed my bike from a gsxr750 to a gsxr1000, changed my post code and declared 3 points. Cancelled my insurance at Hastings and went for the cheapest at Mce. £250/Ann to £1000/Ann; the first one was £1300/Ann. The staff were pleasant enough but the prices are mental. I expected a price hike but am still shocked. Hope everyone else finds a reasonable quotation. Safe riding.

1. I had to take out my policy over the phone as my new bike registration number did not find my bike details and there was not an exact match in the model drop-down list. The phone price was considerably more than I expected from on-line quotes. 2. I specified that I would be carrying a pillion and had modifications (luggage) on the bike. The covering letter with the policy document implied that I couldn't carry a pillion, and the document itself said "no modifications". I had to contact MCE and new documents were issued. 3. I later noticed that my No Claims information was incorrect as it specified the wrong previous insurance company. This is the company that insures my car. Firstly, I don't want to transfer the NCD from my car as I still have the car, and second, I more a much larger NCD on my bike than my car. I contacted MCE again and was told "The insurer previously does not affect your policy in any way but, I will get this updated for you" If it has been updated, I haven't received anything.

This has to be the worst insurance company for communiction! It is near impossible getting intouch at times. I need to renew my insurance soon with MCE but this situation really is a massive issue. MCE you need to up your game, everyone i've spoken to who have used are all saying the same thing.

Expensive, but I chose MCE because I recognised the brand. Heavily caveated policy documents - make sure you read everything! High admin fees!

I have been insured with your company for 12 months, upon my renewal this year, some of the details were entered incorrectly by your operative. This subsequently took another 3 telephone calls by myself to get your mistake rectified. Finally an extremely efficient lady sorted it for me, she should get a bonus, she was great.

massive excess for only a small discount on comp insurance. This is absurd ... i have almost 20 years no claims and my bike is anchored to my house.. I would have thought I offer the lowest risk to any insurer. I can insure my car thats 3 times the value and parked on the street for less.

Really disappointed with my renewal. Paying £20 a month more than last year without using a single service. Forced to pay as I need the bike for work. Cant wait to be rid of it soon now.

I have received an email asking how MCE done and as of yet I have not received and email regarding the insurance. Customer service number charges who said it’s ok. How do I know that? If I get stopped while driving I have nothing to show. Am I insured? I don’t know.

Don't get insurance with them they never stick to their word.. they have lied about my no-claims bonus for the last 12 months the company who has dealt with my claim said they have closed the claim but MCE have been lying to me for 12 months saying the claim has not been closed. I would advise to stay away from this company

It was difficult to get through by phone. I got an online quote and by the time I had joined online I paid over £30 more than the quote with no policy changes but it was the day before I was to renew so I feel a bit conned.

It’s madness that a new quote with you was £460 but to extend a policy with you that I had for 1 month and paid £150 for, I was quoted over £600 to carry it on! I will now have to cancel my original policy and get just over £30 refund because of how much admin fee you will take for a policy I’ve had for 1 month.

I can’t believe how much my insurance has gone up, despite bikes being and 13 and 14 years old, I am 54 with no claims. Not happy at all.

Easy to use quoting system and a nice reminder a good length of time before renewal to ensure value for money. However, getting very tired having constant phone calls asking if I want to renew my policy, after renewing it - their systems tracking policies requires fixing to stop customer annoyance.

It was time to renew and my policy went up £46 the only thing altered was I had another years no claims bonus. Your agent said he couldn’t help this was the price generated. I went on go compare and paid £22 less your agent said he couldn’t do anything or match it . So I went with go compare and it’s with MCE it’s laughable loyalty means nothing these days

When taking out insurance the quote was £308. 00 there was a charge for monthly payments that totalled nearly £400.00 with an interest rate of 78% apr. I find this most disturbing when it’s not mentioned until you get the contract up to 48 hours later and not mentioned in the initial conversation. Please make it clear with other customers and this may be deemed as misrepresentation and taken up with the financial ombudsman.. please give all information and don’t mislead your customers. In light of this I will remain for the outstanding year and hope to see a significant reduction when the newing next year.. regards Ian Trafford MBE McPara Paramedic

The woman on the phone is just doing her job which I can understand however your strict policies are just crazy. £30 for late payment (Scandalous), you cannot use another card which isn't in your name or they'll issue a cancellation letter and you will have to put your own Card on within 7 days or else it's cancelled. Crazy stuff MCE.
