Avoid them if you can. I had a policy for 11+ months, fully paid, no claims etc. So I sell me bike, and put deposit on another one. So I call them just to change bike, expecting I'll need to pay something for less then 30 days, but anyway, complete the policy, get my No claims bonus and insure again. They say they cannot cover new bike and cancel the policy. So I loose my NCB for less then 30 days which will cost me 100s of pounds. They even tried to charged me earlier in year, when I got my full licence. People on phone are decent, but it's rotten inside, I will never deal with them again.

I have not received My insurance policy documents since the date I purchased my Motorbike policy on 2 June 2019 .

Watch out, this company has a garage endorsement that does not come up on any comparison websites, you may tick that your bike will be stored in the garage at night but in small print they add and endorsement stating at all times while at home right at the bottom of you policy. So you can’t even take it outside for a wash and dry. Pathetic service and took them more than a month to tell me they will not pay out for my bike that stolen at my property.

DO NOT USE PRINCIPAL INSURANCE DO NOT USE PRINCIPAL INSURANCE Cancelled my insurance due to selling the insured vehicle. Told by Principal that I would still have to pay the whole amount (paying by DD instalments). Call Centre assistant very rude and seemed impatient with me on the phone. Awful company but then again, aren't all insurance companies

Fast and easy but cancelled insurance as ncb were out of date, charged a cancellation fee when it was just outside of the month. All documentation was sent in the time require but wasn't checked until a good 2wks later!!

Unfortunately, the majority of insurers will not honour no claims bonus if it is more than two years since the policy expired. My renewal was £60 more than a new quote and when I took out the new quote it’s asking me to validate even though i am a existing customer and I think this is poor customer relations.

Terrible Customers Service, purchased this insurance through comparethe market, every week instead of Policy I was receiving emails for more information. Even after providing more details, they were asking for the same information again and again. lack of competency in staff is horrendous. After a month from my purchase (paid in full) still no documents, no policy. Never seen worse insurance company, too much hassle! Will never insure with them again even if they were thousands of pounds cheaper... Avoid!!!

I paid for a policy on the 1st March, no documents were received. I emailed no response. On the 5th March I tried callling impossible to get through. Web chat not working. I sent another urgent email and raised a formal complaint, no response. Given I could not ride the motorcycle I tried calling again, waited for over 40 minutes and finally someone answered. I was told not sure what has gone wrong?? You were abysmal some years back and things are now worse than ever. You are legally bound to deal with formal complaints and you ignore this requirement!!!

I innitially tookinsurance out with yourselves in december 2017. I provided all the documentation you required however sometime later I recieved an email saying you had cancelled my insurance? Irritated and aware I had provided all necesary documentation I phoned up and was told the cancellation was an autoemail sent due to operator error in not removing me from the auto email list. Mistakes happen, fast forward one year... I phone up and renew my policy over the phone - no mention of additional documents required, which seemed logical as I had already provided these documents the previous year and I am renewing the policy again with you.. the same company. Today I pick up and email again saying you will cancel my policy unless I provide you with the same documents I provided last year.. superb. One of these documents is proof of no claims.. my proof of no claim would be issued by you.. this shows an exceptional level of incompetence of behalf of your comapany. I will be phoning tomorrow to complain about this poor service and feel the whole shows what poor processes you as a company have.

tried to change my insurance to my new bike, got told i couldnt get it from current insurer then got a quote for 4 times as much as i had been paying, this then got brought down slightly and then told i would have to pay a charge for cancelling my insurance but i had to cancel as they wouldnt insure me. riduculous!!!!

Bunch of unprofessional people..I never encountered any insurance broker like them in past 12 years...now taking my complaint to financial ombudsman...

Absolutely misleading. They increased my charges on the basis that my no claims bonus was for a car not a van which made no difference with other insurers. Utterly appalled with their customer service too.

Ater having insurance for 2 weeks I was called and told I wasnt covered as my points that were off my licence are stuill valid to Principal insurance- no debate and charged £57 for 2 weeks insurance for a 1980s 250 mcycle.Daylight robbery keep away from these fools.Waited 11 mins to complain but hung up as rigamortice was setting in.

I got a quote for motorhome insurance from Principal via GoCompare. It seemed competitive. When I went to buy I had to ring them. Waited nearly 10 mins for someone to answer. Having confirmed all the details as per my online application the price was £60 more expensive than that quoted on the Gocompare site. Wasted over an hour! Guy on the phone couldn't even give an explanation. Wouldn't bother with them again and I suggest you don't. Looking at their ratings it's about 50 / 50 between good and poor service.

These guys are cowboys. They said they had an issue with the data used to build my policy and stated they would call me. They took 7 weeks to call me, when the discrepancy was found between the data the comparison site used they then cancelled the policy. I have not had any further contact or a refund for nearly 3 weeks. When on the phone, they stated most of my premium would be absorbed in the cancellation fee, which was higher because it was outside the 14 day cooling off period. The only reason it is outside is because THEY say on it for 7 weeks!! I'm convinced they play and bend these rules to their advantage - a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman is in order for poor customer service and excessive and unfair fees.

They all are thieves. There's no way I could rate them less than one star other wise I would have given them -100 Because they don't really want to sell insurance. My quote came online on their website 1200 and when I rang them the guy named Jason said he can't offer me less than £10,000. Ridiculous. So buy a Vehicle for 10K and then buy insurance for another 10K

I sold my vehicle with 1 month remaining on the policy. They are a broker so earn money by being the middle-man. I ended up having to pay MORE to cancel the policy. That's right, not having cover cost me more money than simply letting the policy lapse. This is outrageous. It is a legal obligation on my part to notify them, but by charging me next time i'm tempted to not bother informing my insurer and simply letting the policy lapse. That it simply unacceptable. I kicked up a fuss and said i wouldn't pay more to not have cover, having paid handsomely for cover at the beginning. She immediately said that the amount (£30 or so, so not a huge sum) would be handed over to a debt collection agency. NICE. I will never, EVER deal with this company again, and will shout as loudly as possible that nobody else should. Plus their renewal on my other vehicles was twice the amount i got it for with another company. Plus through the year i had numerous admin cock-ups, including getting a letter from the Motor Insurance Database telling me i had an uninsured vehicle. Bye bye Principal...
