They cancelled my policy without calling or informing me because they said I never signed the policy agreement with close brothers. And now I have to pay a cancellation fee for a policy that I never cancelled. I am sure that chasing the 155£ they are going to call me and mail me, but they had no time to do it all these 30 days since I started my policy with them. I think that was intentional.

Shocking. Paid over £850 for a motorhome policy on my way to collect it. Turned out the motorhome had issues so cancelled the policy after four days. Got charged admin fees of over £200 despite being within cooling off period. Should have read the terms. Avoid - look for a more reputable insurer with fairer terms

Gave a quote online, to be told to call up and pay for the quote, to then be told by Richard on the phone that the online quote is irrelevant and it'd likely be much higher due to my age. Complete scam & complete waste of time.

60 days to wait for a refund is a joke with the extra charges for being a broker and extra charges for cancelling 53 days and counting

Error on their end resulted in my policy being cancelled with 3 weeks left on policy. Complaint made, apology given but lost out on my no claims discount for the year. Although apology given, today I received an email to tell me I’m being charged a cancellation fee for the policy they cancelled. Awful customer service and zero communication between themselves.

I took out motorbike insurance. Paid £106.00 . I couldn't share my licence, because N.ireland licences can't be shared, so I cancelled my policy immediately. I was told I would have to wait 60 days for a refund and would relieve £21.00 . Do not insurance with this company.

We had an absolutely appalling experience that caused us a lot of stress and had a huge impact on our finances. We called to sign up for insurance for our converted campervan. We answered all questions truthfully as they were asked by the sales rep regarding the conversion and then got offered a policy. We tried to pay for it with our credit card, which was declined possibly due to fraud check from our bank. Because PI tried three times to put the sales through our card got blocked from their side (not the banks') and there apparently was nothing they could do from their side to unblock the card again. So we needed to use another card, which didn't fit our financial planning. We then went to our current insurance to cancel it and they advised us that it seems unlikely that the underwriter Principle Insurance has used (AXA) would cover a campervan conversion. We called back Principal insurance and expressed our concerns and ONLY THEN were we asked the question whether our campervan is registered as a motor caravan with the DVLA. It isn't because a) it's not a legal requirement and b) our stats don't fully match the requirements for a registration. The result of it was that - after two days of calling back and forth and often spending a considerable amount of time in the queue - we had to cancel the new policy with Premium Insurance and the most upsetting part is that a refund may take up to 60 days!!!!! That puts us into an impossible financial situation. The bottom line is that Premium Insurance has not written their sales script in a way that protects a new customer's interest nor trained their staff accordingly to ask the right questions. If the kind customer assistant at our current insurance hadn't pointed out the fact that we might be very likely in a situation where we are not covered we would have never known!!!!! And that to me is absolutely disgusting and huge negligence on Principle Insurance's part. My advice is avoid them or at least make sure you do all your homework beforehand because you can't trust this insurance to be fully transparent and lead the conversation in an expert way as one would expect. Date of experience: 09 April 2024

bought my insurance through MCN online gave all the right info and found that i had no insurance for 15 days as they dont insure vehicles not kept at a home address but did not find this out till i got documents through the post and rang them to query the policy. I had to cancel the policy and lost more than £85 through no fault of my own. Use a good old fashioned high street broker

AVOID!!! INCOMPETENT unprofessional Scams! Purchased a van insurance with them, paid £377 deposit. After 7 days they called and decided to make my premium higher like £100 extra a month. So day 11 I decided to cancel my policy and ended up paying £81 and not getting my deposit back. They charged me £404 for 11 days of insurance. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I guess thats what they do with all their clients.

Principal Insurance Brokers/ Highway Insurance Co (LV) BEWARE AND AVOID AT ALL COSTS What absolute incompetents the pair of them Back in August 2019 I foolishly chose the cheapest quote on an amalgamation site. It was Highway via brokers Principal. As with others on here it was not straight forward 'quote & buy' as is usual but you have to telephone and, in my case and others, be told 'no record of this quote but we can do it for £20 or so more'. Not much money so I accepted. Forward to the end of March when I found myself in France under 'lock-down'. I emailed Principal stating that I may have to exceed the estimated 3,000 annual mileage and, possibly, the 90 day EU cover and asked what action was required. I received a confirmation of receipt email and nothing further. Imagine my concern when a message came from Highway at the end of July just 30 days before renewal that I should be aware that exceeding the estimated annual mileage will result in my comprehensive insurance being downgraded to third-party. Consequently I appear to have been using my motor-home entirely at my own risk of damage from April until now (August) when, thankfully, I change to a reputable company.

Load of messing around with them the person I spoke to was about as much use as chocolate tea pot . Insurance is only a legal document to be on the road . Claims don’t claim on your insurance . It only goes up and up . Excess cover forget about it .no claims bonus my arse . Only one claim in my life .when my car was stolen.get the no insurance drivers off the road for good .the technology is there. So get it in place .and stop using that as a big excuse to put up the cost .
