I have just cancelled my insurance with the RAC because of the way I was treated when my car was hit by an neighbors daughtsers car. They caused me so much stress that I had to go with her insurers in the end who were so much more helpful. A two week repair took 2 months.never again will I use RAC they don't care.

My son had insurance cancelled after 1 month for one issue with black box. Never had any problems with his driving the year previous with Direct Line Insurance!!!! AVOID RAC AT ALL COSTS!!

I had joined RAC last year and they have increased my premium this year without any notification I only found out when they have send me the new insurance policy when I called them and asked for the reason of the increase they only said this the market price I don’t recommend RAC at all

Not impressed with this company one bit ,changed car and that's where you get hit with admin charges and increased premium.Like previous reviews say if you cancel they will charge even further charges.ive stayed with them but will cancel once I'm up for renewal.I did complain to RAC about charges but they won't listen!

At no time are you advised that as an existing customer does any discounts apply, even if your policy has lapsed your still treated as an existing customer because your name is still on the rac register.

I've had a really good experience with the RAC. I had an accident that wasn't my fault. They were very helpful and professional on the phone, arranged a courtesy car the same day and had arranged the collection of my car which was a write off within a few days. I also had a follow up call the next day to check everything was okay. I would happily recommend! The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5, was a follow up call from myself a few days later when I spoke to a different person who wasn't very informative, but I guess its just pot luck who you get on the phone! All in all though, a good experience.

AVIOD RAC INSURANCE AT ALL COSTS. Please do not use RAC. They are not an insurance comapny. They subcontract you out to Enterprise and Acromas. I have had a claim open for 4 months, there is CCTV evicence, Police report and dashcam evidence. Thay have admitted that my clain has not been handedled well, and they have now offerred me a further £150 on top of the £50 already paid out in way of an apology. The fact is I want my car repeired, not a bribe to go away. So please, if you want a good car insurance, DO NOT use RAC. Robbers.

DO NOT USE AT ALL COSTS. THEY ARE ROBBERS !!!!!!!!!!!!! I was victim of a scam 4 years ago when i was insured with Direct line. I have been insuring my car and a Van over the last 4 years with no problems. I decided to use RAC this time and their quote was acceptable. They decided to take extra money off my card without my permision due to info on a CUE site. I telephoned them explained that I was a VICTIM of a scam. They said I had to prove it by getting an email from Direct Line. I contacted Direct line and they removed the info from the CUE site and said it should not have been there also they sent me an email so I could send to the RAC to prove my innocence. I asked the RAC to check the CUE site already to prove it had been removed. they TOTALLY REFUSED. I sent them the email from direct line which proves my innocence. The RAC now say they do not accept that and now require it in PDF format. I suggested thy look at the CUE site which totally proves my innocence and they refused again. WHAT DID I DO WRONG !!! The answer is I used the robbers called the RAC insurance. I spoke to my VAN insurers who said that they did see it on the CUE site and decided that it was probably incorrect and ignored it.

Terrible. Avoid at all costs. They automatically renewed my insurance and took over £1000 from my account, called to cancel and ask for refund, was told they’d charge me a £25 admin fee, 7 days on and the money STILL hasn’t gone back into my account. It’s December, like finances aren’t hard enough.

Home insurance Thay Set direct debit for daily not monthly. so cancelled dd email saying you have to pay £48 default charge Also thay tried taking the payment twice 2nd and the 4th So cancelled with them for £28 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RAC HOME INSURANCE shocking customer service

Don't renew with RAC home insurance - the price quoted was ~20% more than the previous year BUT if you go via a company like Compare the Market, the price is the same as the previous year. This is not the only insurance company running this scam - ring to cancel & they'll offer a reduction but in my opinion that is a scam if ever there was one.

Took renewal, we are 7 days in. Car insured no longer able to drive. Call for quote for a car 10 years newer and cost more than DOUBLES for monthly premium. Call to cancel and charged £25 for the pleasure. Absolute rip off merchants. I am sure you're fine so long as you dont have to change anything or similar....

The RAC are liars and should be avoided. They told me that I would get some of my premium back to me once my accident has been marked up as a non-fault. My accident was indeed marked up as non-fault and they REFUSED to give me the £200 increase in premium back again. They stated that although I had been told I would get this back, I did not provide the information they requested - despite sending them a solicitors letter as well as proof of no claims within the time limit - to say nothing of that fact they can use the Q database any time they wish for this information. You don't deal with the RAC in the event of an accident - you deal with a company called COVEA and they shouls also be avoided at all costs. Trust me, go somewhere else

Do not use RAC for insurance. Tried to cancel my policy within 2 hours of sweating it up, had to pay a £25 fine (admin charge), then was told that as the policy wasn’t starting for 20+ days they couldn’t cancel the payment so would still charge me on the start date, then would credit me 8 working days after the charge minus the penalty fee! So what is my admin charge for, given that you haven’t done anything for the payment yet?! Money grabbing!! Disgusting service! Would not use them again.

The app is worse than useless. I have been on the phone to this company and the company that fit the black boxes countless times. I would not recommend - in fact if it were me I would pay more and use a different company.

I have rac black box insurance, and I noticed my score went way way down, so I called them. I was told that I wasn't driving enough miles to offset against two acceleration "incidents" (uphill in my little car basically), so I start driving a bit more, then I receive a threatening email telling me to call them immediately to discuss my higher mileage, and that they may need to increase my premium! They told me to drive more, ridiculous service and use of scare tactics! Not to mention when I had an issue pop up, I rang them to tell them it was going to the garage (they have to unplug black box to run diagnostics), I got two emails from them threatening to cancel my insurance if I didn't plug it back in!!!

One of the shittest known company. The customer service is poor and always lies and it’s been 2 days not recovering my van. Every 30 mins hearing a different stories and good liars. Not transferring call to seniors and the shittest company ever and experienced in life after recovering this will all my family and friends remove from RAC very soon.
