Called them to submit details about my own claim. Extremely unprofessional claim handler not knowing any law and procedures he should follow- I’m a claim handler myself for a different company so I’m aware how the process looks like. Didn’t want to take any information from me saying he won’t even leave a note on the file that I called. I was in so much disbelief for a second I thought I’m not talking to claims handler- had to ask him if it’s really his job title as he acted like he absolutely couldn’t be asked to do his job. I am patient and very much aware how stressful this job can be but this experience was extremely shocking.

Had car insurance with RAC for several years, full NCB never claimed apart from windscreen damage. Received renewal invitation in Jan 2024 and called to advise that my wife has ceased her part time work therefore no longer driving in rush hour...thinking this would be a lower risk. Cust advisor said there was a computer problem, needed to call me back the next working day. When he did he advised that because my wife is classed as retired he would not renew the policy unless I changed to a diff coy and paid £400+ more than the renewal had offered. Then he tried to find other reasons eg saying maybe it was the car -impossible as it's the same one they had offered to renew the policy on! No other changes made. Seems to be blatant discrimination and a scam. Got insurance elsewhere at much more competitive price and will never use or recommend RAC insurance again.

Very difficult to contact them, and beware of renewals. I was with RAC Van insurance for a year, satisfied with the policy. I auto-renewed at the end of the year, but while I was travelling abroad my renewal was cancelled. There are very few ways to get in contact with the RAC helpdesk, and none work particularly well. Once my policy was cancelled my outstanding balance was passed on to a debt collector at a fee of £25 in less than three weeks with no notice from RAC. Email notifications seem random - they want you to login to their portal to view correspondence, but there is no way actually speak to them. Very dissatisfied with their support - I won't be using them again.

I am currently waiting by the phone; it has been 2 hour, and there is no indication that they intend to answer my call. I AM PLANNING TO CANCEL MY INSURANCE POLICY, AND I WILL NEVER AGAIN UTILIZE THEIR SERVICES. I recall making this decision back in 2016, but I ended up renewing the insurance due to its affordability. I have essentially been confined to my home for the past 2 hours, as I cannot leave since my phone might disconnect.

An absolute joke.they took money from my account without informing me that the policy had increased by 100% no phone call no email and no letter. I’ve made no claims and have since gathered 15 quotes that are all cheaper the RAC. Taking money from peoples bank account without permission is illegal. Or so I thought. I’m taking this up with the ombudsman and see what happens. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM RAC. TRUST THEM AT YOUR PERIL

Avoid any aviva products with these people. Paid for a hire car I never got, so 8k out of pocket buying another car. Witnesses not contacted that would prove I was RAMMED off the road and thus without investigating they found me at fault...RAC aviva insurance cost me 10k may as well drove with no insurance for the benefit I got from their policy

Bringing my insurance policy forward by 2 weeks after purchasing a new car cost me over £150 (just for the policy becoming active earlier) more on my policy plus £25 ammendment fee for new car and then another £25 ammendment fee to put my private plates on. Other companies don't charge for reg changes. Also states you can change details on line....no I could not.

very unhelpful, especially managers. They will keep transferring you and finally cancel you insurance and don't even sent a message. They are scammers to find anything to NOT help you

These deserve a ZERO I cancel my policy and was to by a member of staff to cancel my direct debit as I'm struggling and I discover these scammer hit me with a £20 missed direct debit I'm totally disgusted way I been treated gets threatening emails from these clowns they got no comparison or customer skills AVOID RAC THEY BUNCH OF SCAMMERS

Avoid this company at all cost!!!! Absolutely disgraceful! Reward loyal customers with 330% premium increases 9 years no claims no points not even as much as a window chip claim disgraceful. Price gone from 50pm to 177pm with no justification no notification and or reasoning. Diabolical and leaves a very bad taste. when phoned to question why Hassan at customer services finds it highly hilarious and just laughs down phone saying inflation. No renewal quote delivered to me at address no call or notification Hassan stated renewals only given to customer if requested else it just rolls over year by year and they can charge what they want when they want. Please avoid this company they deserve the same loyalty they show loyal customers

Feel totally ripped off! Paid over £400 for annual multi trip and all seemed RAC backed and fine. Had to claim for £250 of lost flights in early September for medical reasons then encountered RAC's loss adjusters - total nightmare. All communication had to be by email, they refused to divulge their address or phone number - very dodgy! At first they refused to accept claim because we failed to declare a pre-existing condition. We sent proof of our declaration! They finally settled in late November. Our original policy document showed an excess of £100 - fair enough. But they took £200, £100 per person as opposed to £100 per claim. Then took off a further £13 each for APD (whatever that is!) leaving us with a final settlement of £25.....

Classic bait and switch. Quoted the lowest price on a certain comparison website, to appear cheapest for car insurance. Then, after getting to the final step on their own site, added a £41 'arrangement fee' for the delight of them arranging insurance with Aviva! So not cheap, not honest, and not even RAC.

Disgraceful practices - they pretend to be selling you RAC rated services and then right before purchase point they slip cover documents in which are by Covea Insurance, a terribly reviewed company. Another corrupt con artist insurance tactic. Shame on you. WATCH OUT PEOPLE.
