I went to cancel my car insurance as they raised the price from £50 per month to £189 per month. they said "oh I don't know why this has happened" to which I replied this is a poor business model, when I could see my insurance is still £59 with other lenders. I was told there is nothing we can do and you will have to cancel and pay the fee. I then cancelled the insurance and was told due to problems we have had to issue a cheque this will take 2 weeks. 4 weeks later I call back, still not having received my money and was told that the cheque can actually take 4-8 weeks now and this is with our accounts department. IF YOU ACCOUTN DEPARTMENT CAN REFUND A PAYMENT QUICKER THAT 8 WEEKS THERE IS A PROBELM, IMAGINE IF I SAID I COULDNT GET A PAYMENT OVER TO YOU FOR 8 WEEKS DUE TO ACCOUNTS. This whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I shall never use there services again. Awful procedures, terribly run company and whoever is in charge needs to take a hard long look in the mirror and employ someone who know how to run things properly and improve the possibility of customer retention to increase sales.

Did not have a bad experience with RAC pay-by-the-mile insurance. It was perfect for me. WHY has it now ceased to operate?

Avoid at all cost May 22, i was stationary when some woman that was on her phone slammed into me. RAC sent my car to Newbridge Garage who was just terrible. 9 months later after 7 courtesy cars I finally got my car back after insisting it gets repaired somewhere else. Not only has my claim not been paid out since MAY 22, (now July 23) RAC have put my insurance up by £195, Disgusting company, use at your own risk. Don't say you haven't been warned.

RAC car warranty. Wouldnt entertain them. A Jaguar Garage had my car for service and found a fault in the oil cooling system. I phone up to the warranty company, as my Jaguar had an RAC warranty. They told me, I did not take it to a RAC-approved Garage it is harder to get the cover sorted. They did not pay out £360 pounds for the job. This I had to pay myself as well as a new tyer on top. Quick enough having my money, when I bought the car from a so-called Approved Garage. The Jaguar garage also found mot fault on the car done by the approved RAC garage. Wiper ripped, wrong size tire on one wheel as well as oil cooling pump oil drip I am a full-time served Jaguar mechanic. Retired now. What's the point in taking out a warranty in the future? Platinum warranty. What a joke. Also told me they needed pictures to approve it, as they did the job but was finished it was to late .save your cash AVOID AVOID AVOID sent details several times email and phone calls still no reply.

Whatever you do, do NOT deal with RAC Black Box Insurance. The most incompetent bunch of unhelpful people I have dealt with in years. I would rate their so-called 'service' as little more than a legalised SCAM! When their renewal offer was made, I accepted online but found I could not get the payment to go through their website as I was travelling overseas. I sent a secure msg to RAC to call me to make the payment. They did not reply. By the time I returned home, the renewal had lapsed (by one day). RAC then demanded an additional gbp300 to renew! The person I then spoke to refused to pass my call to a manager. Fortunately I noticed the RAC policy was actually underwritten by AVIVA. I called Aviva direct and got the same cover for over 40% less than what RAC wanted to renew. (60% less than if I had paid that extra gbp300) Presumably the rest would have to to RAC in commissions. Like I said, RAC Black Box is nothing more than a legalised SCAM!

They are useless if you need to make a claim. They are only a front for another underwriter who never answer the phone.

RAC & PREMIUM CREDIT are SCAMMERS! Do not go near this company. I took out home ins on 14th. Paid £13 which came out my A/C immediately. Decided to use DD so provided bank details. Email recd next day from PREMIUM CREDIT demanding £25 as bank details not correct! I had no idea who they were - no mention of RAC. Checked online & found HUGE number of complaints re people being scammed out of money. Decided to cancel insurance (well within cooling off period) due to the dreadful reviews. Who charges you £25 for a simple initial error with a sort code?!!! Spent 40 mins trying to get through & further 20 trying to cancel. Told I’d be charged almost 1/3 of the entire yearly premium (£40) to cancel. Told this was £25 for PREMIUM CREDIT to cancel the agreement & rest for 2 days cover. PREMIUM CREDIT haven’t even set up an A\C they can cancel!! Complained & told to expect a call from complaints. Just off phone. RAC now saying it is THEM who feel it is fair & justified to SCAM me out of £40 for the crime of cancelling a policy after 2 days. The policy itself was only £150. This is disproportionate & excessive. The cooling off period was designed to help customers avoid bad companies. These dreadful companies have circumvented these protections by creating opportunities to deliberately charge customers who buy their products in good faith. And now I can’t even log in to see the letter they have generated which means another lengthy wait on the telephone. If I could choose ZERO as a rating I would. DO NOT GO NEAR THEM.

If I could give zero score I would. I had a minor accident in early March. Have been passed from pillar to post, no repairs, no updates, no communication about anything, despite being told by Markerstudy (some weeks after) that I would receive emails. I cannot even begin to imagine what this treatment would be like for someone who has had a more serious accident and experienced trauma. I'm stuck without use of my car and currently just confused about what to do next. This really is an unacceptable level of customer service. I wrote a complaint a month ago and received a message yesterday to say they could not yet look in to my case for another 4 weeks. I actually feel that I have been scammed. DO NOT USE!!!!

Please do not buy your insurance through RAC If I can stop just one person going through the trouble and pain I have it’s worth it for me writing this. The RAC team are rude, unhelpful and sell you a product that should you come to use it is invalid unless you meet every single term and condition, which is impossible. Very expensive insurance products and a very expensive lesson learned for me when I come to use it and it’s worthless

Fast to answer sales calls, very substandard at everything else, especially claims. This is NOT a real insurance company, they're an agent so get in the way of anything.

After an accident caused by another driver at the beginning of January I have had absolutely no update on what is happening with my car. I have had to do all the ringing round and still don't know where my car is or what is happening! No reply to emails, phone calls etc... i do however have a courtesy car. It's been over a month now and I've given up so will be using this car until they contact me 😠 do not use this company!!!
