Paid for the restaurant, only to arrive and the restaurant was closed - absolutely disgraceful as it was a birthday treat

Very disappointing experience which ruined my morning. I advanced paid £20.95 each for 2 pedicures (£42) through Groupon, but when I arrived found my appointment slots had been cancelled out. She said she did not make any money on the Groupon appointments and had given our slots to regular customers who pay her more. She refused to find another appointment slot for me and said it was Groupon's fault and basically pushed us out the door. The rudest salon experience I have ever had by a long shot. It seems she uses Groupon to fill in empty slots and feels justified to cancel and not make restitution because she says 'most the profit goes to Groupon, and I give appointments to my regulars first" -- clearly she resented how little she gets paid. As the owner of the business, it did not make sense to me why she sabotaged our goodwill by refusing to honour our pre-paid appointments, blaming Groupon. Exercise caution using this salon, because if she cancels on you, you as customer have to do all the administration (taking nearly two hours with Groupon so far and as yet unresolved), then having to contact credit card company to get the charges removed. An utter disaster for us -- ruined our morning. I'm remain out £41.90 because of her dispute with Groupon -- we did nothing wrong but it is us that has to fight to get our money back.

Bought few things from them, only when i had to return one item because it was a wrong size, i am still waiting for item to be collected even after a month now. I was told someone will contact me and will give me collection date but there is no call or email. I would never buy anything again from them, their customer service has got to be worse in the country.

I purchased a groupon and it was not honored. I contacted groupon and they would not respond in any way. Total scam.

Don't use it, unless you like to gamble your time and money. You can get lucky and get a good deal or lose your time and money. After months of planning without any communication they refunded the groupon for our anniversary dinner plans. If you redeem a voucher say goodbye to your money, even if the vender did not deliver the product.

I have used Groupon for many years for personal deals & gifts, both in the UK and in Spain but my last experience has left me very reluctant to use again. Purchased a deal for my mum for Christmas of three beauty treatments in a salon in Worsley, Lancashire. When she tried to book, they would only allow express treatments (not stated on the advert) and were extremely inflexible, even when my mum offered to only redeem for the two that she wanted. They also asked for the voucher upfront so they could claim the payment. When I approached Groupon, they simply offered a refund in credits to spend on another offer. Poor customer service, no interest in retaining busines and no offer of compensation or apology. Will not be using again after this and would urge others to use Wowcher, LivingSocial or another competitor.

They would not change the date of a booking there was no discussion only live chat I gave a weeks notice and only wanted to change it by 24 hours. The other purchase has not arrived it's been 4 weeks and I have had no reply to 4 emails. I have instructed my bank to make an indemnity claim for my purchase. I have also complained to the Financial Ombudsman, who were not surprised even though they are independent. Never use them again. A Warning to all

Do not buy myheritage dna kit with groupon. We ordered 3 kits to qualify for the free shipping deal. $59.00 each. We went for it. We got a confirmation number through our email for the payment and estimated delivery date. After waiting for over 2 weeks we checked on our kits and groupon is not going to send our order until we pay an extra $13.00 per kit for delivery. So, we have been waiting for weeks for nothing and then on top of that we are not getting the free shipping deal they offered. Now the order we placed is called a " voucher" and it's just sitting there. We have to place the order on the my heritage website with each voucher and add an additional $13 per kit. Its $12 each for shipping, and then $1 more for groupon. Do yourself a favor and only order directly from the my heritage website for their products. Leave groupon out of the equation completely. Groupon just takes your money and then you have to go to the products website and pay more money. It cost you more money and time and is deceptive and confusing. It's impossible to get the great deals and discounts of this product offer of $59 if you involve groupon. Don't do it. This was our first time using groupon and our very last!

I bought in groupon wheel alignment and the garage barrack rd tyres they did not do the job claiming that my car had a problem and that it would cost me £60 , I went to the mechanic and he said that there is nothing wrong and went on the national tyres to do the alignment and they did without problems. I request a refund and they not wanting to solve the problem, at least it was not expensive what I paid, very disappointed.

I just want to start out by saying that I have purchased many items and event tickets from Groupon over the years and I have had problems with a few things here and there, but I understand things happen so I haven't complained. However, what happened to me this past Thursday and the way I was treated is NOT ok and your company should be concerned about who is representing you to your loyal customers. I purchased 2 tickets to The Beatles Love show, in Vegas, for Thursday night for my mother and her friend. I saw that the tickets were non-transferable so I made sure to have the name and spelling of her friend so I could add that to the tickets. When I went to make the purchase, I selected 2 tickets and noticed there wasn't a spot to add names for the vouchers. I triple checked to make sure I wasn't missing something but still did not see a place for this information. I made the mistake of trusting that I must be able to add them after the sale. That was not the case. I noticed I received 2 vouchers where my name was automatically added and that it stated my name had to be on the ID to pick both of them up at the box office. I tried contacting Groupon within a minute of the sale and was finally able to get someone through live chat less than 5 minutes after the purchase. This person informed me that there was nothing he could do because they were non-transferable and non-refundable. He also informed me that even if he escalated the situation, I would get the same answer and that I wouldn't receive a call from anyone for 24-48 hours! My next tactic was to try the box office since you cannot even reach anyone by phone at your company. The woman at the box office was VERY nice, sympathetic and helpful even though the problem wasn't hers to solve at all. There was nothing she could do but she tried everything she could with me for about 30 minutes and sincerely apologized every time she came back on the line to say her idea didn't work out. There was nothing she could do but she tried and she was so nice about it with me. That is exactly how customer service should be. After trying with her, I tried Groupon again and this time, I requested a phone call online. Yes, this is how Grouon conducts their customer service business. Someone called me about 30 minutes later but she was not understanding my problem because she wasn't truly listening to me and that was very frustrating. She put me on hold for about 10 minutes and when she came back, she started to tell me how to purchase a Groupon. I was dumbfounded considering I had already spent 10 minutes explaining to her that I had already made the purchase and needed assistance with it. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was placed on hold for another 20 minutes before a very rude man picked up the phone. This is where things got even worse when they should get better. This man has no business being in customer service and I only wish he had provided his name. He refused to let me speak and just kept repeating the policy in the fine print. I was trying to explain that the problem was in the purchasing process but he told me this Groupon was not allowed to be purchased as a gift and I should have realized that. I asked if he was telling me that I was out $158.87 and if he was really not going to try and help me at all and his response was "yeah, I guess that is what i'm saying. I'm not willing to do anything because that is our policy. If you want to talk to someone else, you can request another call on the site" and HUNG UP on me! I have never experienced anything like that in customer service. They ought to be ashamed. I understand company policies but I also understand good business practice and this entire transaction, from start to finish, was not good business practice. It is not my fault that their system didn't ask for names on these vouchers and just automatically added mine. Nowhere on the Groupon, anywhere, does it state that these tickets cannot be purchased as a gift and if I am able to purchase multiple tickets, why would there not be a place to add names, especially if they refuse to assist you after the purchase? I work for a group travel company and have purchased event tickets for multiple people numerous times and through numerous companies. Each and every other company does not even allow you to finish the sale without physically typing in a name for each voucher, when they are non-transferable. Even the woman at the box office used the excuse that the tickets are like a plane ticket! You cannot purchase a plane ticket, or any other non-transferable ticket, without prompting the customer for names to show on the front. Also, even airlines will allow you to change the names on your plane ticket. Groupon just added my name automatically and then basically told me I was out $158.87 without so much as an apology. Of the 3 people I spoke with at Groupon, not one of them even said they were sorry this happened. They made the decision not to assist me in any way, even though they were fully capable of making things right or, at the very least, offering some sort of credit to my account. I am appalled at the way this was handled and the way I was treated and you can be sure I will never purchase another thing from Groupon.

Don't touch it if you are a merchant. Customer support is horrible and you will never make a profit if you run offers with Groupon.

We ordered a mattress a couple of weeks ago only to be delivered a much cheaper mattress very different to the one purchased. Groupon offered £20 worth of groupon vouchers as an apology. After stating we want a refund or replacement with the product we ordered they have still been unable to offer us a solution. I would not purchase from this site again. Very disappointing 😞

I would've given ZERO stars to the customer service department. The only skills those agents have are copy and paste. My experiences with them have been VERY overwhelmingly stressful and frustrating. There was only ONE agent who was helpful in assisting in my issues!

customer service is a painful process, no direct contact u have to go jump through 100 hoops to get in touch with these people. and so much waste of time to get the simplest problem solved, groupon used to be great but now its standard has gone down so much, i am seeing groupon going out of business soon , if it doesnt shape up, loyal customers like myself are getting irritated and disappointed
