“I used to love Gumtree but it's really changed in the most recent remake. It seems they are trying to monetise everything and what I really liked about it originally is that it was easy to use and free. I especially dislike being invited to review a buyer that I've only had a tiny amount of contact with. This seems really unfair and adds a level of stress that is totally counterproductive and unwarranted. I think they must be losing buyers because things no longer sell quickly and prices are rock bottom. I'd rather take stuff to the tip which I feel bad about but who needs more stress in their lives ?”

“Gumtree app cannot be now used on different devices without being continuously signed out. Now when you post you need to insert photos twice as the first insert simply vanishes. Are the Gumtree employees qualify to manage this ap? It’s so unprofessional. Also: Gumtree is charging now ridicules fees for posting: pets eg. gold Fish and for cars. Even for 1 only , private car, they want money now. Clearly it becomes less and less popular in community. Annoying amount of Scammers. If you make a mistake in category, while posting an add, you can’t correct it! You have to delete it and start again ! How bad it is, only on Gumtree. Every so called “update” is making this app worst, more and more unusable. If you keep trying you can still manage to post that “ coffee table”, or “pair of shoes”

“Gumtree has on line - 'change your password.' goody I say.....Easy just punch in your email address to verify its you. Says to check spam just in case. So after no results there. It says that if you don't get an email to contact them! That's a lot harder than that. Heaps information not related to the 'change of password.' time wasters...I'm changing all my passwords as my phone has been compromised. So please Gumtree. Don't bother offering a change of password 'service' to not be able to access or use it. Or a possibility it cannot be accessed. Bad Company policy. Still can't change my password. It's a security solution for me. Is it a security value to Gumtree? if someone is using my account?possibility? Seems not a problem with Gumtree. I've repeatedly put in my usual password. It wont accept it. So all I want is a new password for my Gumtree account. Don't waste people's time by putting up an email address to change the password if it doesn't work. Dont make it hard for people to change their passwords. People are trying to protect their security issues. It should be easy to use.”

“Too much feedback on peoples' stupidity dealing with scammers etc and not actually reviewing the website! I use it a lot and sell most things but the site has too many issues. I have tried to post an ad this evening and continually getting error messages and it won't post. GT update your site and people only review the workability of the site and not your stupidity to get conned by scammers. If you don't read the safety advice, that's your problem.”

“I placed some ads on Gumtree as I needed to make some money for a project. Everything was going ok the ads had views and I sold 1 item then I found some other things I could sell. So I placed them on I had a buyer for some of my items £360 worth. The next time I looked at my account everything had been removed I emailed a few times Gumtree but had no response and they have lost me the sale and the money towards my project. I still have no reply to my questions and still get email adverts from them not to miss out well I have.”

“Gumtree is a waste of money and time. No gurantee you will sell an item or get people to join your group through paid promotions. Done it few times and did not get me the results i wanted. Claims about more replies is misleading customers. Not going to do it anymore in terms of paid posts. Throwing money is not the answer. If you are promoting a group you need to be proactive. Go out distributing leaflets to lots of houses in residential houses and work with local organisations. Gumtree is not the answer.”
