The carpet has stretched . The underlay has separated and all the joins show . The carpet stains despite good stain management .we thought this carpet would last us our lifetime.we had retired so we have to live with it .I’m embarrassed by it the only thing that was right with it was the colour . We were ill advised about the quality and fitting.its a big lounge and has a join from one end to the other that was visible and chose the wrong carpet , wrong quality supposed to be extra hard wearing now it’s . Wrong fitter (Harrison supplied ) Never again . I it’s such a big investment I would advise going to the best and getting their advice .

We had a hardwood floor installed the contractors were wonderful but service we received from our Harrison rep was not great ? They were arranging for our carpet join to be sorted ? We have had no feedback arranged our own contractor very disappointing

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. We were disappointed to hear that you were unhappy about the carpet, however, we never were involved in your carpet job. We completed the laminate job, as quoted and paid to do. The carpet was not something that we could help you with, which was explained to you, as you were wanting repairs for old existing carpet. We did provide you with details for a contract carpet repairman, who we know and trust, but this was something that you were undertaking on your own volition. Kind regards, Customer Care

Victoria from Kapiti gave great service. She supplied me with information for all things that might be needed. Eg trimming of doors etc. Everything went as promised and scheduled. Carpet looks great. Everyone involved were great. Carpet looks great.

I paid $800 extra for the premium underlay. It was lucky I was home when being installed because I noticed the cheaper underlay was being put down. They admitted they had made a mistake and oops.. my underlay wasn’t in NZ - I was going to have to wait another week. We couldn’t live with all our furniture and bedding in the kitchen so my family was forced to move out. They reimbursed me a small amount which didn’t cover the expenses of one weeks unplanned accommodation. Paul was unapologetic and came up with excuses. If you use them be warned .. be home when it’s installed to make sure your getting the right product. I wouldn’t use Harrison’s again.

I hate my carpet everyday. Massive join in middle of lounge. Harrisons said nothing could be done. I wish I had not gone with Harrisons. I have sent photos previously. I know this review will be deleted and nobody will come and look at it. I am so embarrassed when visitors come

Hi Gay, Thank you for your review. I am very sorry that you are still not happy with the join in your carpet. I know that we have sent out our experts and they have redone the join for you. In rooms that have a lot of light, it is very common for joins in wool carpet to be visible. It is less forgiving than solution dyed nylon. Left me to take an inch off my door where it is hollow internally so now can't have a door ?? installer should have stopped the carpet 25mm shorter as told to prevent it... not happy. They didn't vaccume or tidy large amount of concrete dust and bits of carpet(took 3 hours to clean), not ideal when having a 3 month old baby. They started to bring in furniture while the floor was so messy so we had to move it all again to clean the mess they left As a trade my self you would think you would pre think the door issue, as well as have some pride of work and not leaving the house in such a mess, and quite frankly disrespectful.

Install was cancelled after asking for a confirmation off install date, very rude to deal with won’t recommend Harrisons at all. No flooring going into winter

As probably explained, installs need to be booked, as the installers are very busy, and can't be requested at very short notice as other customers who are already booked would then be disadvantaged. Hi I recently had some carpets replaced by your Porirua branch. The service was good as was the laying. The colour was the only acceptable thing about the carpet The carpet it's self is rubbish. It was never explained to us the carpet we chose was subject to tracking marks. The consequences are that the finished product detracts rather than enhancing the rooms. I believe this product is sub standard. I am extremely dissapointed with the result

We contacted Harrisons for the latest deal in Feb and after 2 call center calls and no contact from the Palmerston North Branch to carpet a 3 bd home we are most disappointed when the call center assured us of a return call within 2 working days and we called twice once on the 1st of Feb the second the following day

Installers didn't turn up as expected, we had to chase around following up on that. No check up calls during or after job complete and shocking and unbelievable experience with customer service after a scratch was made - NO ONE came to look at it yet we were told we did it!! Final carpet looks pretty good but in all honestly wouldn't use Harrisons again if they paid us!

Hi, Thank you for your feedback. It is disappointing when things do not go as you had anticipated. Unfortunately the installer did not come on time as the installers mother in law had a medical event the night before. With the scratch, we arranged for a hard floor specialist to come out to view this but you failed to arrange a suitable time with them once they contacted you. The area where this occured was not an area that our team were working in but they noted that you did have a camera in that area so maybe that would be helpful as to where this scratch came from. Pictures of the scratch were reviewed by 3 hard flooring specialists and they believed that it has come, not from a knife, but a furniture drag or stone scratch. The team did mention that they observed a fridge being dragged by other workers (Not Harrisons) in that area of the scratch. Thanks, Customer Care

We poor had extremely poor service and highly unsatisfactory outcome from Harrisons Whangarei for the installation of vinyl at our bach in Woolleys Bay. I would not recommend them for vinyl installation under any circumstances. Ben Chrystall

Great product, never heard back from the salesman after we said we wanted to go ahead with the order. Brought elsewhere after waiting 4 x weeks.

Had to wait 6 months for the vinyl going down before being able to put the house on the market. Wished we had gone with someone else - just given excuses & the run around. Not a good experience 😕

Salesman lovely but actual instal was terrible. Installers couldn't speak a word of English, the joins in the carpet are very obvious and it's just a solid colour, there was damage to the walls from the instal and parts of the carpet were not laid well against the wall. Very poor quality and very disappointing when paying such a high price for what we thought was a high quality product. Definitely would not recommend.

The initial consultation was very good and the quote came through quite quickly, but once I agreed to go ahead and paid the money as "time was of the essence" then the service deteriorated.

My husband and I having been contacting Harrison’s continuously for the past month to get someone to come and check one of our motorised blinds which is not working. Everytime they’ve taken a call they’ve said someone will come out and see us during the week, or that our details have been passed onto the person who sold us the blinds and a manager will call us and update us on the progress and nothing has been done so far. This is extremely frustrating that we have to keep chasing up on you guys. To be honest Harrison’s customer service is pathetic. The blind which is not working leads out to our outdoor deck area which we haven’t been able to access properly for a month now.

Very disappointed. Harrisons warranties aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. We’ve never had a nylon carpet before, but as it is recommended for people with asthma, we opted for Tramonti 430, a solution dyed nylon carpet classified as ACCS6* REHDS 1* CLDS, 15-year fade and stain warranty & lifetime anti-static & installation warranty with 11mm invincible foam underlay for our upstairs bedrooms and hall. In the master bedroom the carpet is behind the tiles in front of the ranch slider, so it doesn’t go right up to the door. Harrisons recommend\ a window film to reduce fading. We were thinking of replacing the slider, so didn’t bother and were okay with colour fading, after all it’s a bedroom and not a high traffic area. So, imagine our disappointment when, in less than 10 years the carpet has started to disintegrate, I can actually see through the carpet to the pink underlay in multiple places. But the colour of the carpet has not discoloured as much at all. Pity it’s falling apart. The guy that came from Godfrey Hirst, was arrogant with his many years of experience in the industry….. Told us it was sun fade, well yes, we can tell that, but what about the warranty, well that’s not with us, the carpet only has a life span of 5 years, and we are doing well with how long it has lasted. How can you have a 15-year fade warranty on a carpet with a lifespan of 5 years? And apparently the window film isn’t a recommendation, it’s a requirement. In the letter from Godfrey Hirst, they say they have had no other issues with this “batch” and do not consider it faulty. Funny how they only use the work batch not product. The New Zealand sun is very harsh on our furniture, window treatments and flooring. Nylon does perform better than wool, in these high sun areas, but nothing will be invincible unfortunately.
