We come and stay in the village to visit family who live here, over the years of coming we have always stayed in a b&b, this little gem was found as the b&b was full, little did we know at the time what a game changer that would be. The cottage is stunning, decorated and equipped beautifully throughout, with thoughtful touches. We will definitely be staying here again, our b&b days are over after feeling the luxury of this little cottage.

I'll start with the positives, a little gem of a cottage in a picturesque village, ideal for a short stay, nicely presented, tidy, simply minimalistic, home from home happy feel. The reason for our stay is we were attending a near by wedding from the Friday to the Sunday, Upon arrival a mop was left outside so we wasn't sure if the cleaners were still in the cottage, but must of left it outside, Negatives.....The windows look as though they haven't been cleaned for sometime inside & out which was highlighted by the sun coming through & trapped dead insects, A huge cobweb in the living room window - & all of the mirrors had marks & dust on them. The hairdryer in the main bedroom was dirty to the touch, & one & half toilet rolls for 3 people isn't enough - yet we were hardly there, looked in the cupboard next to the toilet thinking some could be in there but nothing but a dusty cupboard with lots of visible splash/dirty marks on it, & some dirty marks on the doors upstairs too. On our last night we were quite cold, the quilt is thin, ideal for the summer months but no obvious spare blankets anywhere. If you were staying longer than a weekend you'd struggle to put your clothes anywhere as no storage or wardrobe or much hanging facilities are available. The cottage could do with a deeper clean rather than a quick once over before some one arrives as it would make the world of difference, & its a real shame that there was no flexibility on a slightly later checkout. Hopefully this will be taken as constructive criticism, needless to say - we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay, what a beautiful part of the country.

We stayed in the Roscoe street property in Liverpool last weekend and it was perfect for what we needed for a hen do. Walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. Enough room to not make it feel cramped with 10 of us staying there. Downside is that host and stay weren’t very informative about parking prior to the booking. The host themselves have 1 parking pass you can use at the property but when contacting host and stay they never mentioned this. The second is the main bathroom shower only provides cold showers meaning all guest had to use the. En-suite which made it busy in the morning. Also due to the cleaning schedule it is very strict with arrival and departure times no room for movement.

The fist thing I want to say how disappointed we were that we had to pay a £500 deposit one week before our booking and won’t get it back for up to two weeks after our booking and then pay a £15 transaction fee, could be up to four weeks with our £500 in their account. We won’t be using Host & Stay again. The house it self was ok. There was plenty of room for four couples. The roof in the kitchen leaked which we reported. The biggest problem was the noise. The floorboards had all been sanded and left which meant you could hear everything throughout the house. Underlay and carpeting would have certainly helped. The house was very well located near the beach and 5 mins from the train and bus stamps.

I would avoid this host, the apartment is great but having to deal with Hotel & Stay was difficult, stressful & not the start I was hoping to my holiday. Just bare in mind if you do book they'll demand that you pay a £250 deposit. -the apartment itself is lovely & extremely central, 30 second walk from John Lewis -it was not the cleanest, I would take slippers because our socks were filthy - I will not be booking with Host & Stay again, they made the process so unnecessarily stressful & were not at all kind. They demand a £250 deposit to realise check in details, air b&b advises against this. Despite having agreed with the host that I would not be giving them any money outside of the app. they left me waiting 45 minutes stood outside the apparent waiting for a manger to call me, who never did. -if they had asked sooner (not in the week leading up to the reservation) for the additional funds I would have cancelled, but it's designed so that you do not have this opportunity. -communication is pretty rubbish, they just send automated messages -the apartment isn't isn't nice enough to warrant dealing with the host

Hi we enjoyed ouer stay in sort of way… Before we arrived we shopping food we are going to make for the days we are going to stay. So we had bought frozen food and so on as well because we now it was a fridge there…. But the fridge was frozen all over so we couldnt put in anything there. So we have to drive to ouer relatives and put the food in there fridge.. We contact host and stay and told about the fridge and sent photo of the fridge.. We got another phonenumber to call but we feelt that how can the do it work, Its taking days to get red off all the Ice in the hole fridge. One of us working on the computer so didnt want to have people and noise around in the kitchen when defrost.. So it wasnt a good start. If we didnt have the relatives we had to throw all the frozen food away. So it was uppsetting because we booked a flat to stay because we should cooking food. I took even a picture on the stowe it was ingraid dirty so we didnt use that. We didnt even look in the oven!! Its hanging a lot of dust on the wall over the doublebed you see when you turn on the light… I didnt even look in the other room..

We rated this as 5 star to get the attention of anyone who like us, looks for the positives. Most poor reviews go unnoticed. We looked at the positive reviews and wish we had taken notice of the poor reviews when booking our stay at a Host & Stay, poor service, cleanliness and maintenance not appreciated

The property was beautiful and spotless With quality amenities, everything you could possibly need , the little front yard/garden was a sun trap ideal for a glass of wine 🙂 such a comfortable house . The views from the main bedroom are amazing 🤩 Location was good to walk into town 15/20 minutes down a hill , walking back was a challenge , but lots of taxis if you feel tired after a shopping spree. We had the best fish&chips we have ever tasted ! at the local chip shop , turn right out of front gate 3 minute walk 😋 Great pubs in walking distance too the Farmacy and the Reading Room 7 minutes down the hill . So much to see and do , walkers delight Will be returning to Rock End Matlock next year 🙂🙂🙂

The stay was absolutely fantastic apartment lovely and clean suited all our needs, would’ve liked another extra key instead of one. Look forward to stay again looking to book next year once I’ve got dates finalised.

Had a lovely few days in Whitby and staying at Allium House, lots of good amenities in the house, plenty of crockery, glasses and cutlery and the hot tub a bonus, kids loved it. Parking right outside the house too which is good. It is a nice quiet area and central for getting to and from. But I do have a few little irritations though, bulbs out in lamps, and the dust and cobwebs were noticeable. The water pressure for the showers was very slow. I have to say on pulling up outside the house I was disappointed on the front garden which was full of weeds and overgrown plants that had not been touched in weeks, so not good curb appeal. Windows hadn't been cleaned in weeks either. The bin inside the house had not been cleaned as food left in it. Considering the amount of money you pay for the house I would have expected better. Sorry to have to say the house is looking a bit tired.

Excellent experience from start to finish, communication and information prior to arrival was perfect, the property was gorgeous and in a super location. Clean, comfortable and full of character, with lots of nice little extras like tea, coffee, milk, toiletries, firewood and more, that put the finishing touches on a most relaxing visit. We’ll stay there again.

Property was ok. But only 1 wine glass, no bread knife and 3 spoons. Microwave was absolutely manky - dirty and rust on bottom. Dining table was rickety and pink bedroom needs another bedside table and lamp. If these were sorted it would be an excellent property. It’s modern, warm and in a good area. Lots of walks and a lovely town and beach
