I saw a mortgage broker who did not understand the Assured Shorthold Tenancy and presented it incorrectly, resulting in a query, which after one week has not been resolved. Appalling lack of service. Would avoid like the plague. Terrible Terrible service. As a retired broker, I know what level of service should be offered, and this does not come close

The worst bank in the UK. Branches open inconvenient hours, appointments difficult to book, bare bones staff at branches. Staff have poor knowledge of banking. Much better banks out there. Avoid this bank if you're in the UK.

My current account was with HSBC ( formerly Midlands Bank ) for 30 years. I was disappointed with their online banking and also I didn't like it when they removed accounts from my payee list without my permission. I called Santander to transfer the account. It was very easy. The transfer to Santander took only one week and all the direct debit arrangements from HSBC was transferred to Santander with no issues. I suggest you all move to another bank rather than stay with HSBC.

New platform is not working and therefore I have no access to any of my funds as there is no payees anymore nad no button to add a payee. Incredible after 2 months of calls and emails and complaints they still can't resolve this so I have no way to access my money.

Just received a letter from Amand Murphy, Head of Commercial banking at HSBC UK which was sent to someone who died two years ago, at an address with which he had no connection telling him inter alia about new Selfie ID service. Is it really possible to use software to distinguich whose ashes are in the cremation urn?

Totally agree with all of these negative comments. The new internet banking website is utter rubbish. The functionality is awful. What was wrong with the old website format. Now I can only view the half dozen most recent transactions on the ridiculous dashboard interface, and have to download and trawl through PDFs to view earlier transactions. Terrible user experience. Sort it out HSBC.

I have used HSBC online banking for YEARS - it was fine and easy to navigate - Been a while but logged back and faced with this useless new dashboard - Have LOST all my payees and cant get statements easily or back far enough - What overpaid 20's something and what equally idiotic Executive thought this was an "improved customer experience" It really is the pits. HSBC, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND OFFER THE OLD PLATFORM - CALL IT "CLASSIC HSBC" if you need, but ditch this rubbish

The new online banking application is not as clear and simple as the one it replaces. Is this PROGRESS? Apparently cheques can now be deposited without going to a physical bank. GOOD, I call that progress. HOWEVER, the app won't install on my late model iPhone. It has been explained by customer service that there are "issues" with the app which are creating problems in enabling the new enhanced services -- like depositing cheques. One advantage to the online cheque depositing service is post-dated cheques can now be deposited remotely from a physical bank on the date of the cheque. GOOD! Please know I’ve been advised HSBC no longer accepts post-dated cheques. The conundrum is -- a customer with a post-dated cheque or an iPhone with a corrupted app can't deposit a post-dated cheque until the date on the cheque. If HSBC had branches everywhere this wouldn't be a problem. THEY clearly don't. This leaves the customer vulnerable. Thanks for nothing HSBC. It's time to look for another bank which provides services that work. But aren't banks a service industry? Somehow they are forgetting customers provide THEM with money to be able to operate. Banks need to remember they were not needed prior to customers needing somewhere to put their money for safekeeping -- a simple SERVICE. From that simple SERVICE, all the rest of banking has grown. Perhaps customers need to remember we hold the key, not the banks.

After only one month I will now be leaving hsbc

I am very dissatisfied with the new online banking layout. It is hugely inferior to the previous one, which was easy to use and comprehensible at a glance, to the extent that one hardly needed to think about it. Now, at every visit I have to refathom the system by trial and error. And this is presented as an enhanced layout that takes account of my needs! Not MY needs, I'm afraid. I would very much like to change to another bank, if only I knew which one would be any better.

I have had quite a few problems with HSBC over the years, however I've stayed with them due to banking with them since I was a child. Numerous complaints about them from depositing one of my birthday cheques into another families bank account to asking to call me back from telephone banking on "withheld" numbers asking for my security questions etc. Not the way a bank should be. Not to mention the appalling customer service, who either cannot be understood or are unable to help in any way. My partner banks with Natwest and I have seen the light! I shall be switching banks as of Monday!

Online banking pages are awful. Over complicated, unintuitive layout. It feels like they've dropped a box of expensive lego onto the floor and turned that into a website.

HSBC internet banking is very poor. Page froze the other day. Have to search for payees instead of them being listed. Not sure all details present. Payees vanish after 13 months. Closed accounts vanish. A/c history doesn't go back far enough. Can't use quick transfer to pay off credit card. No simple method of seeing total interest of all accounts per year. Interest rates are not shown next to account name. Account list is too spaced out.....

The new online banking system is terrible. I use internet for banking, shopping, credit cards, utilities constantly - this is easily the worst I have seen. It will not refresh. Will not show all accounts easily on one page. Shows one account at the top of the screen but lists transactions from another account. The previous system was much better - and yet they persist with this. Appalling. Why treat customers with such contempt.
