“We spent over slightly over $1000 just for a front bay window. They are double paned. We were initially told that we would get 50% reduction, but later we were told "up to 40% reduction" of any road noise". There was absolutely no improvement in the reduction of road noise. Anything with low frequency noise (tractor trailers, rumbling truck exhaust, motorcycles) were at the same level as before the installation (as determined by a sound meter). Delivery time was expedited when it was found that the dealer delayed sending in the order, so that was good. Customer service was OK, e-mail responses usually within 24 hours We prepared 3 other windows (at some expense) to widen the trim area to fit the anticipated Indows per the dealer's recommendation, but we're not going to order any new Indows due to the results we got from the first set. Not impressed with the results, costs, etc. of this product. I would love to get some sort of refund for this expenditure.”

Thanks for the feedback. While every sound situation is different and low frequencies are the most difficult to mitigate, we are surprised to hear of your experience. We would love the opportunity to work with you to ensure the inserts have been installed correctly and are creating the proper seal and spacing to maximize the noise reduction properties. Indow inserts will reduce noise coming through the window openings, but it is not uncommon to require additional noise mitigation for other areas of entry such as walls, doors, soffits, etc. Both Indow and our resellers around the country do our best to assess spaces to provide the best recommendations along this journey.

“The inserts themselves are good. My only knock is the shipping time. I understand COVID disrupted things, but it took forever for these to arrive.”

“We were kept well-informed of production delays due to Covid. Our Indows finally arrived well protected but lots of packing materials to recycle including lumber which may be problematic for some people. Our windows are fairly large so installation was somewhat cumbersome, but they fit well. They have definitely decreased the amount of traffic noise we hear and have made our bedroom a much more quiet and peaceful place to sleep. They are expensive but still cheaper than a triple or offset double pane replacement window.”

“After our first summer with Indow inserts in 3 older bay windows in our living room, we are thoroughly impressed with how much they have reduced road noise and improved temperature comfort in the room. Two minor things to be even better would have been a true white frame option and a reusable container for off-season storage.”

“I live on a busy road and purchased these for noise reduction. I am deeply disappointed in the efficacy. I would not recommend this solution and feel like it was a waste of money. Noise reduction was maybe 10-20%. Was told 10-12 week delivery time frame; it took 16 weeks. We’re nearly 2 years into the pandemic - you can figure out how to quote customers by now and not use that as a constant excuse.”

We are surprised at your results, as it does not match the performance reported in both the independent tests and our customer testimonials. We would welcome the chance to discuss your situation and ensure that your inserts are properly fit to maximize noise reduction. You concern about the extended lead times is noted. It has been extremely challenging for the manufacturing sector during the pandemic. This has been especially true for manufacturers who use the materials we use. “Please post the following the following review if need: I have 2 bedroom windows. One faces an a cross intersection of a major boulevard and highway. It is fair to say that placing this insert in the noise facing window has eliminated all traffic noise. I am shocked how much of an impact this has had.”

“Definitely worth the price. I live at a busy cross-section, speed limit is 35 mph, cars will usually spin out ,screech their tires and travel in excess of 50 mph. Easiest way to describe the windows performance would be that I no longer hear cars or midsize trucks go by. Screeching tires, vehicles that are modified to make noise are now reduced by about 65% I’m no longer shuttering every time any vehicle blast past my house. I’m able to sleep in this room with my head next to the window without any issue. It is allowed me to be in my living room in peace and without distraction. I would definitely recommend this product fortunately no other windows in the house have this noise problem otherwise I would purchase a second if needed.”

“Bought enough acoustic inserts to cover my entire second floor (open concept) and my main bedroom. A few of the inserts didn't fit as snug as the majority but they seem to be secure. Bedroom (third floor) was a nice improvement. Second floor left a little more to be desired but it was still an improvement than without. I'd guess 35% noise reduction with my double pane windows. I do plan to buy inserts for the remainder of my windows.”

“I ordered my insert on April 28. I was told a 10-week turnaround time, then a 12 week, then 14 weeks. It has now been 15 weeks, and I keep getting told my insert should ship out next week. At this point, I'll believe it when I see it. It is affecting my business. Find another option. Not having a definitive delivery time is not a good way to do business, and you can't keep blaming it on the pandemic.”

“The order process has been a nightmare. I ordered April 26 and was told to expect about an 8 week turnaround. That quickly slipped to 10-12 and then up to 14. Finally, on July 28 I received an email that my inserts were complete and to expect shipping information within 1-2 business days. It is now August 10 and they have not shipped. Supposedly on top of supply chain delays, they poorly planned a facility move which further delayed orders. I hope I am completely blown away by the product but DO NOT recommend until they can fulfill orders in a timely manner. They also need to reconsider requiring a full deposit at the time of order when delivery times are completely unknown.”
