“Works beautifully. Had my Handyman come and install it. You cannot tell that you even have an insert in front of the window!”

Diana, Great to hear. So glad you mentioned how "invisible" they appear in the window. This is an aspect that so many customers are looking for in an interior storm window. The optical grade acrylic (clearer than glass) and unobtrusive trim really do help retain focus on what is important: the view, and the look of the existing window. Thanks again for the review.

“I have a large picture window in my living room that faces a very busy street. The insert has helped reduce the noise and I'm optimistic it will also help insulate the room when the weather turns cold. When I measured to order the insert, I didn't know that I had to consider space to accommodate opening the louvers of my four plantation shutters with the insert in place. Sadly, I can now only open the two middle panels of shutters unless I pull the shutters away from the insert because the side panels bump into the insert and don't have enough room to open. An Indow tech tried to help, but there wasn't a good solution. I may order new shutters with smaller louvers.”

“Now I cannot write a review on cleaning/maintenance or anything to the longevity of the insert but as far as noise reduction is concerned this is a great product. I live adjacent to a highway which causes a bit of noise in our bedroom. Since installing the inserts we have noticed a drastic reduction in highway noise.”

“While there were a few bumps along the way after ordering the Indow inserts (incorrect address on the shipping label after confirming it twice with a representative prior to shipment; 15 week production time due to supply issues) they have ultimately been a success for our tenant, who says they reduce noise pollution by 70-80%. Great product.”

Thanks for the question. Yes, the manufacturing sector has experienced extended supply chain and labor issues related to the pandemic. Both acrylic and silicone supply and distribution channels were affected. We have worked hard to limit the effects on lead times and communicate delays throughout. We have also taken steps to increase our production potential in anticipation of the resolution of supply chain issues. We are beginning to see indications of such resolutions and project a return to reduced lead times in the near future.

“Honestly they did very little too absorb the outside traffic noise. ,they are very well made but too be quite honest way overpriced and took way too long too make.i expected them too block outside noise dramatically but did very little too stop the street noise and we purchased your top of the line window inserts...your product does not do at all what you say it does.small reduction in outside noise. but not enough too really make a major difference.”

We would love the opportunity to work with you to ensure the inserts have been installed correctly and are creating the proper seal and spacing to maximize the noise reduction properties. All sound situations are different. Indow inserts will reduce noise coming through the window openings, but it is not uncommon to require additional noise mitigation for other areas of entry such as walls, doors, soffits, etc. Thank you for the mention on build quality. “When the cold weather sets in that will be the test! I found the process relatively easy after a few false starts. I used the videos to help me. It was a little difficult for me to use the laser measuring tool, because I already had blinds installed and my windows are tall - I am short - and I didn't know how to take them down and reinstall, and I really didn't want to do that. So there was a bit of guess work involved. I held my breath when the inserts arrived. It was a really tight fit, but I got them in. The hard part was getting them up underneath the blinds and shoving them into place, but I did it. They fit snuggly. Now I have to figure out how to better insulate my front door and I should be comfortable in my downstairs this winter. Builders grade is almost as bad as Historic Preservation sometimes. Wish me luck.”

“The only issue I had was with the delay. I understand you had problems with material but your long email explanation blaming the delay on your moving to a new facility left me baffled. Too much info”

“We spent over slightly over $1000 just for a front bay window. They are double paned. We were initially told that we would get 50% reduction, but later we were told "up to 40% reduction" of any road noise". There was absolutely no improvement in the reduction of road noise. Anything with low frequency noise (tractor trailers, rumbling truck exhaust, motorcycles) were at the same level as before the installation (as determined by a sound meter). Delivery time was expedited when it was found that the dealer delayed sending in the order, so that was good. Customer service was OK, e-mail responses usually within 24 hours We prepared 3 other windows (at some expense) to widen the trim area to fit the anticipated Indows per the dealer's recommendation, but we're not going to order any new Indows due to the results we got from the first set. Not impressed with the results, costs, etc. of this product. I would love to get some sort of refund for this expenditure.”

“We were kept well-informed of production delays due to Covid. Our Indows finally arrived well protected but lots of packing materials to recycle including lumber which may be problematic for some people. Our windows are fairly large so installation was somewhat cumbersome, but they fit well. They have definitely decreased the amount of traffic noise we hear and have made our bedroom a much more quiet and peaceful place to sleep. They are expensive but still cheaper than a triple or offset double pane replacement window.”

“After our first summer with Indow inserts in 3 older bay windows in our living room, we are thoroughly impressed with how much they have reduced road noise and improved temperature comfort in the room. “I live on a busy road and purchased these for noise reduction. I am deeply disappointed in the efficacy. I would not recommend this solution and feel like it was a waste of money. Noise reduction was maybe 10-20%. Was told 10-12 week delivery time frame; it took 16 weeks. We’re nearly 2 years into the pandemic - you can figure out how to quote customers by now and not use that as a constant excuse.”
