“A golden wedding treat so a bit more expensive than we might perhaps usually buy. Although the flights were 'no frills' all went smoothly and we were met by a lovely lady with a showroom Mercedes which she drove with great skill to the excellent hotel in the centre of Verona old town. Hotel and staff were of the best. Seats at the opera were excellent and the performance out of this world. We spent 101 euros each for slightly cheaper seats for the following night but these were very uncomfortable although the opera was again stunning. A trip to lake Como completed our visit on the final full day, an easy journey by train and ferry. Journey home reflected the outward journey in punctuality. Only complaint was the airport; it really is time for expansion and upgrade. All staff at Weekend Short Breaks were lovely to deal with. Hotel staff could not have been more helpful. A great holiday and one that we will always remember.”

“Everything worked, taxis on time etc. The hotel was lovely and very central, easy walking distance to everywhere, but still quiet. Excellent tickets for the opera. We had a great time and would definitely consider another short break with this company.”

“This was a perfect short break of 3 nights in Verona. Everything went as clockwork from the moment we landed to return. The hotel was excellent, the opera seats perfect, the City beautiful. We could not have asked for more. Thankyou”

“Opera weekend in Lucca Airports apart, we had a fabulous weekend. The hotel was quiet, air conditioned (34 outside) and well positioned for sightseeing. The transport was exceptional! Nothing was too much trouble. We asked to be picked up an hour earlier so we could have supper by the lake before the opera which we would highly recommend. The tickets were brilliant and Tosca outstanding. So all in all a great success. Many thanks for organising it so well. Margret Lillington and Friends”

“We enjoyed a special few days in Italy to celebrate an important birthday. Week-end a la Carte were overall efficient, friendly and very helpful. They absolutely delivered what was requested and personalised our arrangements to include a surprise on arrival. We had one hiccup but it was resolved quickly with no fuss. Man thanks”

“Verona and the Opera was spectacular as was Hotel Accademia. Overall the trip went well and we had a most enjoyable short break. The seating at the opera was perfect and allowed a great view of the fantastic show.”

“It was lovely to be taken care of and not have to worry about getting to a good hotel or book really good tickets for the opera. We appreciated the congratulation bottle of Prosecco on arrival. The transfers to our boat trip was good as was being collected and taken to our hotel in Lake Garda. Basically just having the strain of organisation sorted out for us.”

“Very good and straightforward booking with friendly advice. The recommended hotel (Accademia in Verona) was very comfortable, with friendly staff and was very convenient for the opera arena and the main shopping areas and sights. The pre-booked seats for the opera were excellent, almost the best in the house. My only small complaint is that the driver taking us back to the airport at the end of the trip was ten minutes late picking us up at the hotel and dropped us at the entrance to the short stay car park leaving us to walk across the car park with our suitcases to the terminal.”

“Fabulous hotel in Sienna, very comfortable, perfect location, helpful and friendly staff. Most arrangements very good - our guide Lucia was great. We were slightly disappointed that no one showed us to our contrade district for dinner but managed to locate it ourselves.”

“A wonderful long weekend break! The first and very important point is that the travel documents package was very detailed and covered everything we needed to know - and it all went to plan even though we had made changes to the original itinerary. The Hotel Accademia was just perfect. You couldn't ask for a better location in the centre of Verona - and the rooms were good and staff very helpful and friendly. The only suggestion we would make is that customers should be advised that The Arena do not take credit cards on opera nights. We didn't have enough cash and on the night we couldn't buy a programme or a drink - but a minor point compared to the overall magical experience. We wouldn't fly Easy Jet again, or fly from LGW, but that's a personal choice. A big thank you to the Weekend a La Carte team for a great holiday.”

“Every aspect of our trip, from flight out, collection from Verona airport, the hotel and especially the evening at the opera, followed by our collection from the hotel and the return flight went very smoothly. The hotel staff were both helpful and charming.”

“Excellent care and service from start to finish. The Hotel was a gem. Family run in a quiet area, beautifully decorated, friendly and helpful staff and a good breakfast. The Spa was a pleasant surprise with a sauna, steam room, heated relax beds, jacuzzi and a small pool. With the 2 day Verona pass and airport pick up it was really good value for money as well. Highly recommended.”
