“Small and convenient airport, inside the airport is fairly alright. Outside is a car park rip off, if you go to the free hour car park, the way to get to the airport is very poor, not of a first world country.
And if you stop for a second anywhere in a not very busy airport you will get fined, great business.”
“Dirty, cramped, conveyor belt in baggage not working, causing delays, no comms about this, corrugated steel livestock contraption for passengers to walk for 100s yards and wait before boarding. No trolleys in luggage reclaim inbound.
I have been to many airports including Africa and Asia, which are looking and functioning great.
This airport is a shame for Great Britain and it’s frightening to see such a dilapidated place not being overhauled or closed down.
Unfit for purpose.”
“Returned from Dalaman Turkey at 2.25am in the morning. After being kept on the transfer bus from the plane for over 15 mins, and then queueing to go through security. Collecting luggage was a complete farce. We waited approx 1 hr to get our suitcases, and a plane that landed after ours had their luggage before ours. Didnt leave the airport till after 4am which is 1.5hrs after landing. Totally unacceptable and no comms from Leeds Bradford airport staff”
“Must be one of the worst airports in the world. No cover from any of the car parks to the terminal in the highest airport in the country. Waited one and a half hours on a Saturday night to get through security. Burgers in one of the bars selling for over £18
Then on return waited for one and a half hours to get through border control.Absolutely ashamed of this airport and to cap it all £6.50 to pick somebody up on arrival. Close it down and start again.”
“It took nearly an hour from the plane landing to exiting the terminal building. We were taken by bus to the entrance to the security zone/passport control. We coild not actually enter the building due to the queue for passport control. When we finally reached the end of the queue nothing was moving, what was worse you could see the snake of said queue going along a passage and then returning on the other side of the window. Nothing was moving for five or ten minutes then slowly, bery slowly, we started to advance towards the passport control booths, it took perhaps 25-30 minutes to reach the hall. They Border Force had all it booths open but was just swamped by the number of arrivals, we were told 5 aircraft had arrived in the space of ten minutes. Now this is either bad planning by the airport authorities for allowing so many aircarft at the same time or by the Border Force for not having all their booths open until the queue had reached its enormous length. I have trid to find out if Leeds is installing e-gates to no avail. TBF the outgoing security checks were very efficient, no queues despite five aircraft scheduled to take off around 6am in the morning. Shame about the return welcome.”
“Took 2 hours to get through security on flight out and nearly missed flight Took 1 hour to get through passport control last night at 11pm. Scruffy and dilapidated buildings. Shortage of staff. Terrible”

“I find the security process is the worst I've ever experienced. They will make comments and shout at you. The last time I went a security member checking my boarding pass on my phone told me it was too slow and I should get a new one. Then they shout at you the whole time...it's like a market in the middle ages...they took my shoes and didn't tell me where so I had to go looking for them...I always try to fly from anywhere else... although it's hard since they closed Doncaster airport (can't wait for them to reopen).”
“Dreadful arrived 13th April half the bar restaurant area closed of fir cleaning allegedly, people trying to get a table, eventually let us in,no bar menus,,had to ask for price of each wine,as no drinks menu,,,a joke of a place,worse then ever”
“This airport has the worst parking facilities in the country and the most arrogant and offensive staff … oh machines that don’t work contactless but they don’t tell you that until your at the exit with 10 cars behind 2 lanes out of 4 working .. helpful arrogant staff then have the bright idea for you to go into the terminal … just fix the machines and provide a level service thats all we ask !”
“To call this a third world airport would be an insult to those airports.
It has had money spent on retail facilities but none on customer comfort. Lack of seating, dirty toilets. Had to wait over 20 minutes standing in a corrugated "bus shelter" with a bare concrete floor in 2°C temperature, waiting to board my plane. No seating, being of advanced age it is something I do not want to repeat.
It is an embarrassment to Yorkshire.”
“Arrival on time from Rome today. Disembarked aircraft into shuttle bus to terminal. Arrive at terminal, some of passengers leave bus and head towards building… guy in yellow vest shouts ‘wait for me… I have to go first!’ Passengers continue to leave bus… guys pushes past passengers shouting George out of the way!!! Then all passengers are shouted at to get back on the bus. So like sardines were made to wait for 20 mins, no explanation, no apology to those passengers who were verbally abused. We were then told to enter the terminal building and present passports as usual. This little tin pot power hungry official needs a lesson in customer service and polite etiquette. If he can’t get himself in the correct position to direct passengers who know no difference, he is incompetent, rude and needs to be sacked!!! Really not called for. This was the flight from Rome on 8.3.24 about 3.00pm. I do hope other passengers particularly those who were verbally abused let the authorities know about this incompetent individual!!”
“Only 2 stars as my spare watch was removed from within my handbag during the scanning process. I have been in contact with the lost property since my return from holiday but no joy. It appears to have vanished. Warning to be especially careful when losing sight of your hand luggage during security checks.”

“My review isn’t about the staff they are always super helpful it’s the actual airport itself…. It’s dirty!! The walk to the plane down the walkway is horrible.. I don’t know if it’s a lack of funding or management but I would be ashamed if this is what travellers see when they come into the country for the first time it’s an absolute disgrace”
“Check in staff, absolutely and utterly rude. They would not take our cases off us, and their command of the English language was atrocious, one female member of staff we had to ask her to repeat everything because we couldn't understand a word of what she was saying. Going through security things got from bad to worse. Ignorant, rude, loud shouting and bellowing at travellers, in fact we felt absolutely bullied, in fact on person in particular was a bully, who turned his name tag round so we could not see his name when we complained back at him. It absolutely ruined the start of what should have been an exciting holiday. LBA management should be utterly ashamed at allowing this to go on like it does. Staff re-retraining comes to mind.”
“If only I could give this place no stars. What a dump. It’s been a few years since we flew from here but I doubt they have cleaned the toilets in that time, they are truly vile. In fact the whole experience was horrible, heaven knows how much cash this place generates, but you can be sure none of it is being reinvested, it’s dirty.
Whoever is in charge needs to go and have a look at Newcastle or Teesside airports, that’s how to do it, genuinely whoever is in charge should be ashamed of themselves.”
“Abysmal organisation, as a frequent flyer leeds Bradford is the worst unorganised airport going , 6.00 flight to tenerife first flight of the day , with a scattering of light snow the whole airport comes to a standstill , after being kept on a freezing bus for 45mins , no info then proceed to be kept on the plane for another hour again no info , other than the plane is being defrosted, so does no one keep an eye on the weather reports why on earth do you need to get passengers out of the airport, you really do live up to your name port a cabin airport”
