“Bought two products, fantastic prices, delivery was fast and efficient,I'm not sure I'm ready to sign up for £8 a month subscription but it was easy to unsubscribe, but maybe I will go back and subscribe as the saving on the product more than paid for it”
“They rope you in on the website -- somewhere in the small print --to a recurring-charge subscription. -- The kind of thing that gives internet shopping a bad name.”
“Dramat!!! Draka
Dramat!!!! Ludzie nie zamawiajcie stad!! To oszuści!!! Zabierają z kona 8,99£ za nic!!!! Nie zamawiajcie !!!!!!!! Najgorsza firma, śmiecie... bez wstydu!!!”
“I,too, have been duped by Luxplus on a purchase made in September and they have since taken two payments of £8.99. If an item appears to be much cheaper then it should ring alarm bells as to if there's a catch I.e., sign up to become a member.”
“Didn’t even want to give this horrible company 1 star but I had to so I could leave a review . An absolutely shocking company took money out of my account for this stupid membership didn’t even say they are going to take it out and didn’t even refund . NEVER BUY FROM HERE GUYS!!!”
“What a scam and rip off. It is disgusting . I have lost £100 as I didn't notice for months. It is money I can ill afford to loose.
Luxplus - hang your head in shame. You know that people are unaware of what is happening. I am a pensioner.”
“Good deals on a good range of products, depends how much you order to get the value out of the monthly membership fee of £8.99
For those who state it doesn't tell you about them membership fee, it clearly does when you sign up or checkout.. These people obviously don't read or take notice of what's on a screen in front of them..”
“Avoid this company at all costs! Unknowingly make you a member upon purchasing something, therefore take £8.99 from you every month. I only just realised today, luckily, but they have essentially been stealing from me for months.”
“Please never ever do any shopping on this site . This is the fraud company and they will debit the amount from your account saying membership charge .I never took any membership and they have debited the amount from my account . fraud fraud fraud fraud fraud fraud ,Big fraud .Big fraud .Big fraud .”
“Luxplus is trying to block this review on Trustpilot and has reported me to Trustpilot, despite it being entirely factual. As summary, to save you reading:
Luxplus.co.uk sells products. When a buyer purchases said product/s the checkout process is opaquely written and dupes the buyer into agreeing to become a member of a buying club with a monthly subscription of £8.99. By any measure or metric, this is not clear unless someone warns you in advance, although I take responsibility for not understanding their T&Cs, so I suppose you could say I was honestly tricked. Anyway, I bought some spectacle wipes to clean my glasses, which I paid for and received. The following month, I was charged a further £8.99, despite not purchasing anything else from them. Had I not purchased on PayPal, I would have been unlikely to notice, but PayPal emails me every time it's used, luckily. So they only got away with £8.99 before I cancelled the subscription. Paypal wouldn't refund it, as I'd inadvertently agreed to this in their T&Cs. Avoid this company like the plague.

Hi Mette
Judging by your speedy and detailed response this sounds like a common complaint. As you know, your reviews also confirm this with almost all 678 complaining about your methods on Trustpilot.
Why on earth want to be committed to a subscription for disposable wipes?
Anyway, aside from the sharp practice, please ensure any subscription you believe I have with you is cancelled with immediate effect.
I do not require your services, just a box of spectacle wipes.
Thanks

Hi Matthew
Thank you for contacting us.
You are a member of Luxplus and therefore the monthly membership fee of 8,99 GBP has been deducted from your account. You became a member when you chose to purchase products for our membership prices and accepted the terms and conditions of a membership
The 30 first days of membership are free of charge, thereafter the membership will continue automatically for a fee of 8,99 GBP per month until you cancel it.
It is stated in several places on Luxplus that the membership prices are only for members and that one becomes a member when purchasing products for membership prices. It is stated for example on the starting page, next to every product, under the section “subscription” and “terms”. As a customer you actively have to choose whether you want to buy a product for membership price or normal price. Under the membership price we inform that you start a membership when you purchase a product for a membership price. A membership is also added to your shopping cart when you purchase products for membership prices for the first time. Furthermore, you have received a confirmation to your email with information about your membership when you placed your first order.
I am sorry if you have not seen this and misunderstood our concept, but we do not issue refunds for membership, as we give able information about the membership.
Instead of cancelling your membership I can see that I have the possibility to offer you 30 days of membership free of charge. During this free period you can shop for our member prices and get free shipping without paying for the membership.
Would you like us to activate these free days?
We look forward to your reply.
Mette

Hi there
You seem to have charged my card again.
If you’ve signed me up for some sort of subscription, it’s not something I’d have agreed to, unless you hide it within your T&Cs.
I don’t need anymore spectacle cleaning cloths so please don’t send any and cancel any subscription you believe I have with you.
Thanks

“I must be the worst case on here reading the comments. I have had 26 payments taken of £8.99 I did not check this out and now Iam devastated and so angry. I will take this the courts if I have to. They owe me hundreds. I never signed up to anything all I do is buy my shampoo online nothing else. Fuming”
“I have been victim of their membership fee £9.99. I realised I was being charged after a few months. I was never made aware of it. They refused to make a refund with a lame explanation. The membership is not worth it in any case. What they sell can be purchased from other reliable website at similar or better prices without any membership fee. Be WARNED keep away from them. They are thieves.”
“Much like other reviews I've been paying £8.99 for several months without realising. I realised today that my membership renewed yesterday but they refused to refund me.
The way they sign you up to the membership is very cunning and sneaky. They say that they are a membership service, but if they were, it would be very clear from the beginning and throughout the process. This is simply not the case. You can buy a one-off product and they’ll automatically enrol you into what appears to be a pointless membership. The prices are the very similar if not more expensive than competitor sites which don’t have this membership fee. They still charge for P&P. So it’s unclear to me what this £8.99 a month is for. I’ve even spotted in the ‘Luxliving’ section of the site that some of the ‘membership’ prices were more expensive than the ‘normal’ price, so their algorithms don’t even work properly. Having worked in the e-commerce industry for 15 years this site is very poor designed for the end-user but cleverly designed to trick the end-user into losing £8.99 a month. I expect this makes up a large amount of their monthly income.
This company doesn’t deserve any of your money. Use on it a reputable, honest company that will do some good to the world.”
“Just like everybody has written here, the scam is real. When you buy 1 product, you get auto enrolled into their membership and you will pay £8.99 a month for the rest of time. I tried to get a refund on the £8.99 that had just come out of my account (1 day ago) and they refused. Their prices are even that competitive and sometimes the 'membership price' is more than their 'normal price' which is a total joke.”
“They are a scam. Nowhere on their website when you buy a product is there any information of you joining a membership scheme... £8.99 was being taken out of my account every month unauthorised. BEWARE!”
