“Do not buy from this website.
Unbeknownst to me and many others, £8.99 was taken from my account a month after ordering one single item. This website signs you up for an automatic membership and it obviously isn't stated clearly enough that this is the case.
Luckily I caught the first automatic payment and cancelled immediately, I really feel for those who have had money taken from them for years without realising due to this websites shady tactics.”
“This company has removed nearly £270 from my bank account. For a “ membership” I wasn’t aware off, or that I agreed to. Please be aware of this scam whilst purchasing from this company. In fact don’t their prices aren’t that great. Purchase your product elsewhere, where there’s no hidden fees.”
“DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from these scammers, they are not interested in selling! all they do is once you purchase something they automatically set up a MONTHLY membership of £8.99 and you get nothing in return, even if you do not tick the subscribe to membership box (like I did) they'll still sign you up to it!!! This is illegal and I have already reported the issue to PayPal and I will be contacting other services about this FRAUD. If you were robbed by Luxplus dont just leave a review but report them, those thieves deserve to get huge fines. Their customer support doesn't even exists, they just send prewritten emails.”
“I bought an item worth £13 on their website without any information on subscription and never added the cost to my basket. However, after a few days, they went and collected money from my account. Though still ignorant of it, on the second month they did just same. It was after the latter that I noticed and since then they've failed to acknowledge their deceit, answer my questions and refund me.
It's worth noting that these guys are scammers, nothing about them is straight. With their deceit, I spent £13 and then lost £17.89 for an unknown subscription. Honestly, someone/government needs to close that company, they are ripping people off of their hard earned cash - without any form of knowledge/awareness. Luxplus is an internet scammer, thief and full of deceit, since they can't make their membership obvious for people to be aware of.”
“If I could give 0 stars to this company, I would!
Tricksters and scammers!
They trick you into signing something you never want to and keep taking money from your bank account! I don’t understand how signing up for something as this you only need to click one button! Even if you click “no”to start with (which I assumed got rid of that “member” option, on the next step it still was selected as a member price! Obviously didn’t realise, that it was on again! Another thing- the terms and conditions (£9 monthly charge for nothing) are written down totally separately and not where it should be! They should be penalised for doing so! I’ve bought and item once (which was absolute rubbish and did not work) and kept taking money from my bank account several months after!”
“took my niave 16 year old daughter £8.99 without really telling her this is for membership, really, who charges a monthly subscription to buy make up , scam beware,”
“The way their website is setup you don’t realise that you become a member for life paying £8.99per month for nothing BE VERY AWARE!watch your bank account!
The biggest scam going and PayPal gives them a platform to do so!”
“I bought an item 3 years ago and just found a have being a membership fee for 3 years, which I did not sign up! Criminals. Very dodgy company, what membership goes on for ever?”
“Items (2 x glass bottles of foundation) packed in only a flimsy jiffy bag, despite P&P being £4.95. One of the them had not surprisingly shattered in transit. On opening, I cut my finger and got foundation all over my jumper and jeans. Totally ruined. What is most shocking is that Luxplus customer 'service' refused to take responsibility. They refunded me for the one bottle, but told me to claim 'through my insurance' for my ruined clothes. All other companies I have ever dealt with send bottles in sturdy cardboard boxes. Will never touch this company again. LUXPLUS - READ THE REVIEWS. YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE NOT HAPPY!”
“Scam, I did not know I was subscribing to a memberships, I want my £17.98 Back, this is so unfair, no other website has problems with sales and forced memberships. These are hard times and we cannot have this”
“Hello there.
I purchased with Luxplus on 13 October (Order number: 4699884)
and did not realize that I will be tied up in a contract.
In the mean time, I was going though some very difficult time and lots of health issues.
I did not realize that I am being charged £8.99 each month for something I did not want.
My credit card has already been charged £17.98 so far...
This is ridiculous, I did not subscribe to your membership and I DO NOT WANT your membership.
Please return my £17.98 to my credit card with immediate effect.
If not I will complain to the regulator and sue your company.
You can trace my details if look at order details mentioned above.”
