“Bought a wood burner. Good product but expensive delivery charge and the driver only drops a heavy pallet at the pavement edge, so if you don't have any help to carry a large item you're pretty stuffed.”

“We bought a Clarke 720 Generator advertised in the machine mart book and on the box as a Quiet Generator ideal for camping. THIS GENERATOR IS NOT QUIET! Also it's advertised as 65 DB but it's actually 95db...Apparently it's 65 DB from 7 metres away ! Who has their Generator 7 metres away from their motor home?? Machine Mart refused a refund and said if we wanted a credit note the generator had to be sent away for a check and this would take 2 weeks. I've spent a lot of money in their store but will think twice about going there again!”

“Went into the shop to buy an oil pan was asked for my address name and post code ,when i questioned why i was made out to have an attitude by the manager because i asked this question,ended up going else were.if this is the attidude that machine mart staff have to customers who ask a simple question i would note an that there needs to be an overall training on customer service.the shop i refer to is the one on LONDON RD CARLISLE”

“such a shame they used to stock stuff but Now its all 7 days delivey. or like a laser torx bit i wanted for collection 7-10 days. How much longer are they going to last running like this when you can order online and get it next day from most places.”

“Hello my name is Giles Rees. On the 13th of April I went into the swindon store and ordered a pair of wire strippers. (I have receipt still) I was told they would take 1week considering the bank holidays as well. I rang 1 week later and was told they were coming. I rang again after another week had passed and was told the same thing. Today I rang and was told my product wasn't even ordered and they would 're order today. Once again another week I have to wait. I said that I was told twice they were coming ( was I blatantly lied to?) Yes he replied and an apology came next. Is that it? I feel cheated and robbed by your company. Plz help. Thank you”

“Living in Jersey, trying to buy anything on line is a nightmare. Most company's will not deliver and many will not deduct VAT (we are not liable for VAT in Channel Islands-we have our own Goods and Service tax). Anyway, yesterday I telephoned Machine Mart to order an item, and ask the above two questions. Very nice chap on the end of the line, but he couldn't answer my question, but said he would get someone from Sales to ring me. Well, I'm still waiting.”

“Awful customer service clarke compressor petrol that cost over £700 broke/ exploded after 41 days will not listen to me when I tell them that its within guarantee and needs to be replaced they want it for two weeks to inspect it to ( so I was told on the phone) tell me it was likely a user error and they will not replace it absolutely disgusting avoid this place at all costs!!! Please see the photo the engine has exploded from the inside how can this be user error. Oh and just to add i have lots of these machines from them no issues with others yet but I have spent an awful lot of money with these thieves and I am being spoken to in a condesending manner and told that it is likely my fault without them even looking at the machine.”
