“I ordered a salmon filet and what I received is not what I expected or was shown in the picture. I am not satisfied and have been trying to resolve this since before Christmas. I've called 5 times and they listen and say they will have the department manager call me and no one calls. I'm about to refuse payment with my credit card company. I've dealt with Mackenzie for over 15 years.”
“Unfortunately, my most recent order of beef wellington was a huge disappointment. The beef was gray in color, and cooked at the minimum recommended time, was still well done. There was virtually no mushroom puree and the overall flavor was bland. I do not recommend this purchase. However, the twice baked potatoes were fine.”
“I was very disappointed with the products I received. The bacon Mac and cheese bites were the only thing they would eat. The rest I had to throw away. The vegetable gratins and mushroom tarts were not good. They were heated according to instructions. I have tried several of your items and overall am not pleased with the products”
“The quiche had no flavor, would not order again, same with the lasagna. Very disappointing. The sweet potatoe casserole was good. All in all, very disappointing. This was a Christmas gift to my sister in Chicago who is having difficulty preparing meals. I was exited to send her some meals that she just had to heat and serve. I felt horrible when she told me how poor tasting the food was.”
“The soup had a very extremely high sodium content. I was not aware of that when I placed the order. Because I have high potention I could not eat them. The portions were smaller than I expected also. For the price of each one It should have been larger potions.”
“I have ordered from Mackenzie quite often in the past and recently double-ordered "Gradma's Cookie Tin" for ~75$ each by mistake. As a result, I had one order returned to me to sample - I was not thrilled. The assortment was nice but the cookies themselves were small, hard and dry (not what my grandma made (ever)) more like chips ahoy which I can get from my local grocery store. I will most definitely look elsewhere next year.”
“Regarding our 2023 end of year holiday season order, all good EXCEPT the Chateaubriand was excessively "chewy" as reported by our family and guests. Meaning that we all had to chew, chew and then chew some more. Was not like this for our 2022 order. Perhaps Mackenzie changed suppliers? This item was simply not acceptable.
Unfortunately, a disappointment for all.”
“An extravagance I will not repeat. Undoubtedly being a good cook, I expected more. Feeling lazy is my excuse! However, for at least more than half the cost, next year I will do it myself.”
“The creme fresh mashed potatoes were soupy and paste like. The individual meatloafs tasted good but were so full of grease. They were supposed to be 8oz each but by the time they cooked they were only 5 Oz maximum. I weighed them.
I have used you before for appetizers. They were excellent but the entree and side were a real disappointment”
“i bought tamales and Beignet and Brie & Raspberry en Croûte
1st let say i ve never seen any of these items so small ,the tamales were so small that i didnt know what they were till i read the package...the same the other item were JUST bite size..........and when we got them they were warm the dry ice was gone,,,it took 3 phone calls a week before xmas to get them replace and they sent me cookie instead of beignets...i dont know about you but i didnt want cookies for breakfast. what i the tamale s had good flavor,,the other stuff was ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but cant imagine order from here again the prices are very high for what you get and all the hassle”
“Prices are high and delivery prices are insane. For the cost of the food, delivery should be included. I reluctantly pay the prices for holiday gifts out of desperation but would never, ever order during other times of the year or for myself.”
“We did not care for two of the three items we ordered. Did not care for the crostini with lobster or the bacon Mac n cheese poppers. Loved the tempura shrimp though!”
“The petit fours were delicious. The hazelback potatoes were awful! Not sure what happened as we had had these before and they were delicious… crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. This batch, two boxes couldn’t be eaten. Insides were hard with a sort of circle in the middle. Threw them all out!!!!! Thoughts?”
