Became less and less interested once they had been paid !!! And demanded an extra 15k .

“Very sorry to finally relay that my experience with Liam Kotrie at Mary Monsons was terrible. I felt he was indifferent to my plight, broken promises ref his personal court attendance and when his juniors did turn up they were sans important required material. To add insult to injury, the fees paid to his firm I was told by other legal professionals were "eye watering" and not appropriate for my low level charge. The whole way through it just felt that money was the motivating factor for them as opposed to justice for me.
Even at this stage they are unprepared to supply me a Costs Schedule to allow the rebate from the court as I was acquitted (almost exclusively imo due to the fantastic Rachel Cooper at Lincoln House Chambers who frankly rescued this whole debacle).
God forbid I am ever caught in the CJS again but I most certainly will NOT be using Monsons again.”
“i would not use this bunch of charlotons . potts an rishton let the police know my defence in advance an potts was sold to me as a solicitor when in fact he only para legal only fit to deal with parking tickets at best . i sacked them an found a proper legal firm do not use this firm wot so ever”
“Horrible Experience... Had a great deal for a commercial property so contacted them to do the paperwork. Even though I have paid their fees in advance, after 5 weeks I received no update in regards to the case. After many phone calls all I received was an answer that "they will start doing the searches as soon as they will have time for me". Because of this I've almost lost the case. When I contacted them to have a refund because no work has been made from their side whatsoever they started to avoid my calls. I am trying to communicate with them but no chance of someone taking your call.
I can't believe that something like this can exist: a solicitor firm to take your money and then avoid any contact with you and ignoring your case in the hope that you will leave it like this. Unbelievable.
Avoid them if you don't want to loose your money and time!”
“This is a very responsive company until you pay the fee note, this is when I was met with a large amount of silence. I have called up to three times a day to be told “she doesn’t start till ten”, “she is in a meeting” and “she finishes at three”. After eight weeks of this I received a two line email! I even signed up to LinkenIn to contact Ms Monson herself but alas after three Inmails not a single response.
My barrister was allocated to me the week before my case after eleven months of planning. He seemed very distracted on the day of my hearing. The questioning was mainly unrelated to my case and very disjointed. You would have been excused for thinking he was defending a different case. All this for a mere £2000 + Vat even though the VAT was charged but not declared on the invoice. I guess he was thinking what to do with his £2000 on the day of my hearing.
I would have no hesitation in recommending these people to anyone I disliked intensely. Unfortunately the service was so poor I am now taking this up with the SRA.”
