“More than pleased I found your website very easy and straight forward which is always a good, many other sites I tried they were very confusing, sometimes simple is best, some websites try too hard and make it more difficult.”

“1. We weren't called about delivery despite paying extra to be given a 3 hour window. Just a call when the delivery was outside. 2. The delivery turned up and there was a chip in the bed 3. There was a chest of drawers missing from the order, to which we rang to be quoted that we would receive our bed side table in January.... we already had 2 delivered 4. We have rang 3 times due to the mix up and not hearing back, mainly because of the bad reviews I have since read 5. I have tweeted and received a pretty rude reply All in all, for £700 I would not recommend shopping here due to the service. Happy to take your money but when things are wrong very slow.”

As discussed, I can confirm that your replacement footboard will be delivered to you on Wednesday and the Chester Drawers will be delivered on Thursday. “We purchased a light fitting from the website, having seen one in Knaresborough shop (they were unable to supply one at the shop). The delivery was swift, and fully trackable. The light was packed extremely well, and was easy to install - a great product. Highly recommended supplier.”

“The whole process was easy, I saw some beautiful chairs at a great price, I ordered 4 and they were hear well packed a couple of weeks later. The quality of the chairs a good and the design superb. I will most certainly use Matalan Direct again.”

“I have been waiting 11 days for a delivery. I have contacted the online help sh o stated that the courier who supposedly delivered my order was being investigated. WHAT DELIVERY! I have payed you £60 for goods I have not received. The contract for my goods was with MATALAN, NOT THE COURIER SERVICE. I want a refund.”

Hello Susan, as your review relates to a purchase on matalan.co.uk as oppose to matalandirect.com (Matalan Direct are the online only furnishing division of Matalan, we provide the larger home furnishing items we're unable to fit into our stores) I have passed your complaint onto our customer service team for them to investigate further and make contact. “Furniture was ok, one of the drill holes in one chair has not been drilled properly so I can't get the bolt in, will have to do this myself. Ordered 6 chairs, paid for one hour delivery slot. Got one email on morning of delivery with a slot, then another half an hour later. Rang Matalan Direct, to discover that 2 chairs were coming at 12pm the remaining 4 at 3pm. From the same warehouse, by the same courier!”

“I ordered a set of shelving units and not all were in stock so I chose to wait for delivery of all three items together. The due delivery date was extended from end of July to end of August and I eventually received the goods at the start of September. Unfortunately, one of the packages contained the incorrect coloured item despite having the correct colour listed on the front. Despite all these inconveniences I have to give full marks to the customer service staff who were always polite, helpful and keen to sort out the problems. Well done guys! P.S. I am really happy with my new furniture now it is in place.”

“As a middle aged woman I am not very tecky!!! Was a very easy website to find what I wanted and order it. The delivery came when they said it would and the whole experience was painless. My bookcase/ shelves is great thanks and was very easy to put together!!!! I would buy again and tell my friends!!”
