“Arrived for table booked for 7pm 7. 20pm before we were seated. Lamp on table would of been nice if it had been lit. Don't expect to book a table and be left waiting for 20 minutes. Service could of been better left long time before order was taken and big gap between courses. Shouldn't take bookings if can't cope. Starter was lovely but afraid main wasn't so good my steak had a lot of fat on it. Overall medoca meal for very expensive price £102.2 steaks and 2 starters 2 drinks. Not impressed. Had better for less”
“Absolute shambles. Was told no Christmas menu was available on arrival even though I'd booked it. Apparently no kitchen prep staff and only one chef. Then told we could have Xmas menu but not the turkey roast or rump steak. I am a food critic and told the waitresses this who then told the manager. Four turkey dinners became available. Potatoes were rock hard. Brussels under cooked flew across the table. Went on to order desserts told no lemon tart, no brandy in Christmas pudding and no popcorn in profiteroles. I asked for hot custard on sticky toffee pudding and this arrived luke warm and the pudding was hard.
The only reason my party didn't walk out as it was too late to book somewhere else and Sharon the waitress was so apologetic I felt sorry for her. Never coming here again!”
“I visited alone hoping to have a pint either in the bar area or outside, however I was told that they were not doing ''drink service'' until the following week.
As there was a large, completely empty bar area and empty outdoor seating area (the restaurant area also appeared to be completely quiet) I asked, ''so the bar area is not being used at all?'' the man disappeared into the restaurant, and returned to advise that the bar area ''is set up for use next week'' (I visited on a Tuesday - how long would it take to clean one table?)
I asked if I ordered a side dish alongside a drink could I then possibly be served, he reluctantly said yes but it would have to be in the restaurant area - I decided to leave it.
I cannot understand why, when the restaurant was completely quiet, I as a lone customer could not have been served a beverage in the large, empty bar area, and the table be cleaned afterwards. I did not feel like there was any desire to serve me or accommodate me. It was clear that the man would rather see me leave than serve me. As mentioned, the entire premises was completely empty!
The man referred to me as ''mate'' throughout the encounter which I found inappropriate and unprofessional.
If you dont want to serve customers why are you open?”
“The worst steak I've ever eaten; touch, stringy, awful. I'd actually ordered a ribeye but it was clearly rump. Could not eat it! Offered a £6 discount on a £21 steak. Manager didn't come over to talk to us about it. Really poor.”
