Transparency was a bit of an issue. I ordered a preorder item on 22nd Feb with manufacturer release on 25th Feb. I waited until 5th March to contact miniature market. They responded on 6th of March which is an acceptable 24hrs but rep told me item would be releasing March 2025...this is where I have issue. 1 - our email exchange was in March and it was kind of a bs answer. 2 - The item was in stock at manufacturer, multiple online retailers and Amazon with 2 day shipping so the excuse is doubly nefarious. 3 and finally the items shipped 7th of March, which makes you believe my email prompted this cs rep to get the warehouse to release the inventory...meaning bad inventory practices and trying to save review scores. As far as the items...they are Games Workshop items and new kits so the quality is actually really great but that's reflective of manufacturer. The packing was actually really good...miniature market oversized box and wrapped the 2 kits very well in bubble wrap. Finally, the discount over msrp was nice, saved about 10 off other retailers and even more off manufacturer direct. This does forgive most ire, they just need to be more honest and forthright

MiniatureMarket sent me a coupon code with a expiration date. I don't begrudge them having an expiration date, but I also don't quite understand why I only had a few days to use the coupon code. On the one hand, it's a gift they are sending me (to spend the gift at their store), on the other hand, why not give me even a year to use it? But none of that is the main point. The main point is that it expired earlier than it should have. I went to use it but I would not apply. I promptly messaged MiniatureMarket about the issue and they promptly replied with a new code and an extended deadline. And /that's/ what's great about MiniatureMarket. I find them always to be a reasonable. Their discounts are reasonable. Boardlandia's are never more than 15%; that's not exciting. MiniatureMarket gives us much bigger discounts much bigger loyal rewards, and much better coupon codes; and more frequently.

I think warehouse changes and changing of the internal guard at MM has mostly hurt the customer experience. I can't speak to how it feels for the owners of the business, and the changes might be great for them, but essentially, due to covid-19 or not, my experience with MM sales and prices feel much less exciting and seem like worse savings since 2019 and 2020. There was a really pronounced dive in how much time I was browsing annually and how excited I was over sales and clearance. The stuff sloshing around at the bottom of the barrel hangs around forever -- the same junk recurring in blowout sales. This stuff just lingers for years during these "big sales" which might just need to be donated to local schools and libraries at this point. Speaking more positively, every phone conversation I've had with anyone at MM has been wonderful. I know it's not a giangantic group of people there, and they work hard, communicate clearly, and are always helpful. Some emails I've sent took over a week to return, however. Other times, it's as short as 2 hours. I wish that there was more inventory of some items which seem to be unavailable often despite (or because) of their popularity; and I really think steeper discounts on actually good, new titles might actually help with the turnover and free up warehouse space. And sometimes, games never seem to get back in stock. For example, I feel like some titles by the publisher "Lookout" I should just find elsewhere. All that honesty aside, I love the website layout and user interface of MM better than competitors. And the shipping rates and free shipping threshold are great. So why do I not shop MM more like I once did? In closing, I'd blame MSRPs going up, but mostly they have not. MM is simply not discounting games like before. Some times, maybe, but there's no way I'm making up my perception of a discounted percentage that was once a little better for the customers. Especially older games which should be less by now. Ticket to Ride is always still cheaper at Target for goodness sake. Terraforming Mars's line and Uwe games are constantly gone. Your "last chance" and "on sale" links are broken on the site, and it's not clear what the difference is between them and "deals." So there's some messaging clarity to align there. I have a deep hobby connection with MM. It was one of my first gaming sites back in 2015. But I've been going to Amazon, Game Nerdz, and Cardhaus more and more, which I never did 2015-2020. Dan King, the Game Boy Geek, had me constantly checking you site in the past. It's become stale for me. 3.5/5 rounded up for great people working there who carefully and perfectly back and bubblewrap those boxes, and are wonderful to talk to on the phone or emails.

Great sculpts! My only minor gripe is that it seems like one of the printed supports wasn't removed, but that's an easy fix.

Of Dreams & Shadows is a cooperative adventure game set in a dark fantasy world where players make critical choices, battle powerful foes, and shape their own story. Designed by Gordon Alford, the game blends narrative-driven gameplay with dice-based combat and strategic decision-making. The game excels in storytelling, with branching narratives and meaningful choices that impact the unfolding adventure. The artwork and components enhance immersion, though the board layout can feel cluttered. Each hero has unique abilities, encouraging teamwork, while exploration and combat drive the gameplay. However, the dice-driven combat can be swingy, making luck a significant factor. Replayability is strong due to multiple story paths and character choices, but the core mechanics remain consistent. The game is best suited for players who enjoy deep narratives, cooperative strategy, and moral dilemmas. However, those who prefer tactical combat with minimal randomness might find the dice-heavy mechanics frustrating. Pros & Cons -Rich narrative and immersive world-building -Strong cooperative elements and replayability -Dice-driven combat can feel too luck-based - Pacing may be slow for some players Final Verdict: Of Dreams & Shadows is a compelling dark fantasy experience for story-driven gamers, though the reliance on dice may not appeal to everyone. 7.5/10

The box was rather oversized for the book that was shipped. Otherwise, it arrived in good shape. Haven't had a chance to delve deeply into it.
