Poor quality food and the worst customer service ever. Avoid. Misfits Markets is the worst and they bought out imperfect foods which used to be good, but now they too aRe infected by misfit’s poor management. Zero stars.

Theifs! I signed up for the service assuming I would have a say in what I order, but no! They processed the order without my approval and shipped the produce while I was out of town—such a waste. Please don't use them! Also, forget trying to contact them. I emailed them, and they still haven't responded.

Actually less than 0 To look at offerings must enter banking information. Unable to contact by phone. Billed for order never placed, never placed an order, ever. Prices are higher for better quality organic produce in my local supermarket. Big disappointment!

Shipment so poorly packaged that the majority of contents not useable. Box too large contents damaged each other. something did leak which made other things a risk to use Bread crushed , Biscuits smashed and produce that arrived was more than a bit irregular due to the poor packaging which set up lots of damage in transit. There was no damage to outside of box so it is a Misfit Market Issue.

I visited Misfits Market website from a Facebook ad simply to see what they had to offer. This organization forces you to enter your personal information in order to look at their selection or see prices, which is all I wanted to do. I was checking their prices on meats. Reputable online merchants have a checkout procedure where you confirm what you are buying and complete your purchase, but not these scammers. I determined after "shopping" that I had no interest in their products and left the site. The next day, I see that I have a charge to my card that I did not authorize. I attempted to contact Misfits Market immediately (within the hour) to correct what I was sure was an innocent error on their part. I sent several messages via their "Contact Us" link, and called a phone number I found online which returned a constant busy signal whenever I called. Then after several days of no response from Misfits Market I received an email saying that my "order" had shipped and listing some vegetables that I would never have ordered. Then I finally received two emails from Misfits Market telling me that I had agreed to a grocery "subscription" service in which they decide what I would get. They also stated that since my so-called order had shipped that they would not refund the $38.07 they fraudulently charged to my card, but they would cancel my so-called "membership". They offered me a "credit" for the amount charged, but only if I re-activated my "subscription", exposing my card to further unauthorized charges. Any reputable merchant would have responded the day of contact, canceed the so-called "order", and issued a refund. But Misfits Market ignored contact until after they shipped and now are saying, "tough luck". Looking online I see dozens of complaints about Misfits Market's deceptive business practices, which include recurring charges to people's credit cards as well as other issues. I actually had to cancel my bank card and have a new one issued to safeguard my bank account from further charges. This is a major inconvenience since I will have to change my card number with the many legitimate online vendors I do business with. These scammers responded with two emails that are obviously form letter responses basically saying "You signed up and should have read the fine print. Oh and we don't have a phone number of any kind you can call, and we are not refunding your money." Clearly they are quite used to answering complaints just like mine. Looking at their "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau, I note that they have a form letter which is their response to all complaints. What sort of legitimate business operates in this way, and claims not to have a telephone line? At this point, the small amount of money they charged is no longer the issue. I just need to let others know what sort of organization this is to protect others. So, if you want to do business with these scammers just understand that their business model obviously is based on capturing your personal information and sending you an "order" you never placed, go ahead. You have been warned.

If I could zero stars I would. This business is a total scam. You can’t even look at their inventory or pricing until you sign up for an account, and then they just automatically shop you food. I did NOT agree to any subscription service upon sign up.. got an email saying my card has been charged and they’ve shipped me a bunch of food I have no use for. For a company that prides itself on not wasting good, their business model is quite the opposite. Can’t seem to get a refund per their “strict policy”

When you sign up for their sight, it is not made clear that you are signing up for an automatic and subscription-based service. That is something they hide in the 'Terms and conditions'. If you make an account, and don't immediately cancel your subscription, they will automatically bill you for an order that THEY create, and you will be paying WAY more than store prices for everything (which is stuff you don't want and didn't order, anyway). Additionally, their marketing itself is a scam. NONE of the products I received were deformed/substandard in any way. Besides one piece of corn, which was ROTTEN. Absolutely a horrible company that preys on unsuspecting people.

Do I have to give them even one star???? Just to be able to type into the review box. Ok. But it doesn't reflect my opinion of them . They get not even one star!!!!!!!!! This is a criminal outfit. They wouldn't allow me to search the market until I put my credit card number in. They even have a drop down banner that states " don't worry you will not be charged until your order is finalized" . I simply browsed the site and compared prices, put it on the back burner for a few days and the next thing you know. They charged my credit card 75.00 and shipped an order full of things that I don't even eat nor would I consider buying or eating. They even shipped items I'm allergic to. In the areas on their site to report an issue , I reported numerous times and was sent an email that a REAL PERSON would contact me. This was while my credit card was still PENDING. Eventually they CHARGED IT! I just wanted my card reimbursed . I DIDN'T ORDER THAT BOX OF GROCERIES. This is simply THEFT! I am very concerned about elderly folks that might wander onto their site. WE ARE SENIORS OURSELVES...BUT NOT STUPID , AS MISFITS ASSUMES! Not only did they charge my account, SHIP an order (that someone else picked out for us ) BUT they were also cued up to send me another shipment the following SIX WEEKS!!!! Thank God I checked my emails and put a stop to their criminal activity. Yes. I got the groceries delivered. I am giving it away to others who may need it. After the whole credit card theft, and the upcoming weeks worth of theft they had lined up, do they really expect me to go out and get the makings to send a refrigerated box back? . Sorry . but NOPE. The ice had long melted anyways. It's not my problem. They made no attempts to reimburse me, contact, me and " make it right ". As a person with a Marketing and Public Relations background..... I am literally in shock. And of course with that background I feel that is my duty to let everyone I know to stay as far away from Misfits site as possible. Obviously, they don't care about customers or anything but the almighty dollar. Not one single person reached out to try and help me. I got an automated response or two ..but that's it. This is the first review published on my mission to let the public know the truth about what they are doing.

Produce handling has increasingly gone downhill. The romaine was smashed into the box and bent into pieces. The parsley had the same thing and once I prepped it only a small amount was usable. Apples come with bad spots. I think my onion is totally rotten but I haven't cut it yet. The tomato looks underripe. Misfit advertises that its produce is the wrong size or color. It's not supposed to be rotten and mishandled.

Your ad for FRESH vegetables/ FOODS are misrepresenting. In the event my box is delivered to my door, I receive mismatched vegetables. Half are rotten. I’m ok with ugly. Money is wasted on your rotten merchandise. Overall, delivery is horrible. I discover more orders down the corridor by the mailbox’s. Really???? My order was due MONDAY MARCH 8th. Confirmation was issued for Tuesday delivery. Today is MARCH 14th and “lo and behold” the box was dropped off by a different entrance.

We were very happy with the vegetables. Huge radishes beautiful Kale and Collard greens. Some veggies were occasionally damaged they are misfits but for the most part no complaints. Freezing weather did affect them during the 2 snowstorms in the northeast and they credited us and added a different insulation rather than the thick paper. No problem there. I figured cold that could be a problem so just ordered vegetables that could take the extreme cold.Availability was frustrating as many vegetables offered were out and so you were choosing from a very limited list. I guess understandable. We tried to figure out the best day to order for more choices but it did not make a difference. The substitution in our last box was not so great as red leaf lettuce rots so quickly I dont buy it from the regular grocery store and I had ordered endive 2 heads no less and got 2 huge heads of red leaf lettuce half of which had to be tossed. The major problem we had this week we got a message saying that our bank refused the draw. We contacted the bank and we were told there was no attempt to draw. After multiple emails we missed our order day waiting for replies and in frustration to get it resolved my husband asked them to call to which he was told they are not set up for that. It seems they don't need our orders here and it is not worth it to them to get it straightened out.

We're pleased to read you have enjoyed the produce we have sent to you. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback with us. We definitely do want you to be with us and would love to continue to send our boxes to you. We checked into this with our Customer Success team and after reviewing your charge history we re-confirmed that we did in fact attempt to charge for this order twice on 3/10/21. Due to the various scheduling and logistics requirements of shipping our boxes to arrive at your location, we are not able to attempt to bill your payment method a third time if the second charge attempt is also declined (https://help.misfitsmarket.com/en_us/my-payment-was-declined-SJdUwuYxu). Whenever we attempt to charge for our service we do not have control over whether the financial institution allows it to process or not. Therefore, this would need to be discussed with your financial institution as to what could be happening on their end. In the meantime, we welcome you to enter another payment method in your account to see if that helps for a future order. Instructions can be found on how to do this here: https://help.misfitsmarket.com/en_us/change-my-payment-method-rJRaNbmmP We appreciated you reaching out to our Customer Success team. We currently do not provide phone support and our Customer Success team is more than capable of assisting you via email as they have in the past. If you have any questions about this or need anything further from us, please let us know at https://www.misfitsmarket.com/contact-us.

Terrible. They send you not oddly shaped veggies (which would be fine) but overgrown produce. Their selection for your box (because they pick, not you) doesn't make any sense. For instance, I got two potatoes for the week. A very stingy box. Worst of all, only two of the items had the organic label. The rest, as far as I see, is not organic, even though they say it is. Why no label? are we supposed to just believe what they say? It doesn't make any sense. A total rip off.

Thank you for posting and giving us a try. All the fruits and veggies we offer in our core subscription box are non-GMO and certified organic. We work with carefully selected, certified-organic growers and we source only high-quality produce from our list of farms & partners. As misfit items, you may see differences in size, packaging, and labeling, as in this case. However, rest assured these items are still certified organic. We also wanted to share some exciting product developments with you that you may not be aware of. While we do offer "mystery" boxes, we also offer the ability for our customers to customize their boxes at no extra charge. Many of our customers have told us they enjoy having the flexibility to choose what is in their boxes. We hope that if you haven't already you will try our customization feature. We appreciate your feedback and opinion on this and have shared it with our team. The second box I received was wet and the produce was moldy and had a rotten smell -threw all of it away. Since my first box was great, I contacted customer service in hopes they would make it right. Never did hear from customer service after 2 attempts so I cancelled.

I heard about this company through a family member and I loved the idea of it, taking produce that no one else was going to eat and keeping it from being wasted is great because I know how much food goes to waste for being a little damaged or not perfect enough for grocery stores. However, execution on this 'solution' is not good. So the way the website works is that you can 'build your box' 4-5 days before it will be delivered (i.e. I would build on Monday to get the box on Saturday). However, when building the box items are sorted into 3-4 categories and you have to choose a certain number of items from each group (even if you don't want them?) Typically I plan out meals for the week on the Thursday/Friday before and go grocery shopping on Saturday. This box made it completely impossible to plan. On my first box I planned fajitas because one of the things I was sort of forced to get was limes as I just needed another pick from that category and I didn't want to waste. I made plans for all the veggies I was supposed to get in the box but was very disappointed when it arrived. I had some squash in the box that had been thrown in together with everything else causing my green peppers to be smashed (no big deal I just was going to cut them up anyway) but they didn't include sweet potatoes I had ordered and seemed maybe instead they sent me more limes?? I received 4 limes, in what world is that 1-2 servings of lime?? Needless to say I wasn't terribly impressed, but in the name of fairness I decided to give them one more chance, but the second box was even worse than the first! At least I was able to use everything in the first box. The second box was two days late. They said it might be held up by the snowstorm, but there was absolutely no more snow and should not have been delayed because of that (so I had to make plans and go shopping without being sure of what/how much produce I would be getting from Misfits). In my second box I ordered romaine lettuce, green leaf lettuce and spinach, it seems as though they just substitute if they don't have what you actually ordered, which is absolutely ridiculous since they're limiting your choices so much in the first place but I received RED leaf lettuce (seemed much more bitter than the green) and two bunches of spinach with no other lettuce to speak of. This was not in my plans-so now what was I going to do with all this spinach? (which still had the roots and was covered in dirt that got everywhere in the box) I also didn't get the broccoli that I ordered and the tomatoes I got were very soft (they were supposed to be beefsteak so soft to the touch is not what I anticipated.) And when I cut into the onion I got it was rotten inside. I ended up going to the store to get $15 more dollars in produce to replace what I NEEDED for the week. This service is not convenient and doesn't save me any money because I honestly end up with a lot of produce I don't know what to do with. You'd be better off simply buying what you WANT from the store than getting a box of random stuff of questionable quality.

Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry you were not pleased with some of what you received. Weather-related delays affect the entire logistics chain. So even though the weather may not be severe in your immediate area delays can still occur. Fortunately, weather delays while out of anyone's control is not the norm. We would like to look more into this for you but we will need some more information to identify your account.
