Hi Thomas, Thank you for your feedback. Aside from the removal of the notch military dog tags have not changed in size since WW2. Our tags are the same as issued by the US military, there is no difference in the size. You ordered tags with debossed text which is much more difficult to read as it was originally intended to make carbon copies of the tag's information on to medical paperwork. Debossed text is period accurate for tags issued between WW2 and Vietnam, and are even still issued on some bases where old machines are still in use. While recreating older tags some customers will choose modern embossed text, where the letters are pressed up rather than down into the metal, instead as that is much easier to read. We would be happy to make you a set of tags with embossed text.

“The tags turned out great. When I wanted to get a set to to replace my Dad's originals I did a lot of research. I knew his serial number and all the info to get a set done. When I found your website during a search, I knew that you could make them as they were when he got his. The older version with the notch in it were the ones issued during his time frame. He had gone to basic training in the summer of 1954. He pretty much got rid of all of his issued gear and uniforms after he left the Army. He served for thirteen years and left a Captain. It was just something he did and never saw it as a big deal. I made it a big to him because he deserved it. My three sons have served and are still serving in the military as did I. I have a shelf with our boot camp and basic training portraits along side my Dad's. The dog tags made it all perfect. He is gone now and I still salute his portrait everyday. Thank you for the great tags and the quick delivery.”

“The glossy Dog Tag that I have ordered for my 5 dogs that include dog's name and my phone number has larger font, spaced with name atop and my phone number beneath; are clear to human eyes and when there is a layer of dirt on the printed side of your Dog Tag. I choose your Dog Tags to be accompanied by DocuPet's round licence; allowing the two metals to resonate, whereby I can hear my dogs before I can view them. When I am working my horses in the fields, 2 of any 5 dogs accompany us. If my dogs are not visible to me; I can hear the two metal tags sounding their bugle. Thereafter, I gather them to complete our ride.”

“I ordered 4 sets of tags as copies of my father’s originals that he was issued in 1971 so I could give them to my brothers after his passing. They arrived fast and were perfect! I especially love the fact that they have branch specific templates according to what era you’re looking to recreate. 5 star experience and I highly recommend them.”
