Most unprofessional travel agent I have ever worked with. Airline company charged my 50 EUR because they failed to perform online check-in on my behalf. No answer to my complaint until I decided to share my experience. And then, the pretend I didn't contact them, a lie. Strongly suggest to avoid them.

Cancelling prime is overly complicated and should be illegal

The memebership is a scam - very hard to cancel and refuse to give you your money back even - no warning no cooling off - in fact pretty close to stealing. Customer service hide behind nonsense about tiny small print about everything being non refundable. AVOID

I booked a flight online through Opodo with the British airways and it was not a cheap flight and before I knew it they send me an email charging me for membership that I was not aware of. There was no email before hand to let me know that I have subscribed. I had no idea that booking through them meant that I had to pay extra money for membership. This was a big con and I am disgusted with their practices. This was the email they sent me: We have received your payment of £ 89.99 for your annual Opodo Prime subscription. Your Prime account membership has been successfully renewed and is valid until 05-08-2025 so you can keep enjoying your Prime benefit. I did try to get my money back but they were adamant there was no refund. Please do not book through them again. The ticket to Turkey together with the membership cost me almost around £750. It would have worked cheaper if I have booked directly with British airways.

Not transparent. Unethical. I felt tricked. Scam company I paid about £40 more for the Opodo Super Flex ticket which allows some flexibility for changes / cancellations. Two days later, they inform me that another £89.99 would be debited from my card unauthorised. The reason they gave (very complex and makes no sense) is that at time of purchase I was auto-discounted £49 for their 'prime discount'. They said that because I had a similar prime discount from them on one occasion 3 years ago (which I don't remember), I was no longer eligible for the auto £49 discount. And so they were debiting me for £89.99 for a membership fee for a year that would permit the £49 discount. They are refusing for me to either cancel their membership fee of £89.99 and pay the £49 discount, now that their non-transparent sales methods are exposed. They are also refusing for me to cancel the tickets, on the grounds that they are now more expensive than what was apparent at time of purchase. If their can detect a customer as a returning customer after the sale, surely their technology can identify the customer at the point of sale so that the customer will be aware of what they will be charged.

I recently had a deeply disappointing experience with Opodo that I feel compelled to share. If you are considering using this service, I urge you to think twice. Here’s why: Unauthorized Prime Membership Enrollment and Charges Despite carefully opting out of their Prime membership while booking, Opodo signed me up anyway. Worse still, they charged me twice without my consent: £59.99 last year and £69.99 this year. This happened without any clear warning or permission, which is nothing short of a deceptive practice. Difficulty in Canceling Prime Membership Attempting to cancel this unauthorized membership turned into a nightmare. Opodo requires you to call them directly to cancel Prime, a process that’s deliberately made as difficult as possible. When I finally got through to an agent, I was told I would not receive a refund for the unauthorized charges. They offered only to cancel the membership moving forward, which felt like adding insult to injury. Misleading Prime Membership Benefits Opodo markets their Prime membership as offering the best travel deals, but I found this to be misleading. I easily found cheaper options on other, more reputable websites. Their claims of savings are false, and the supposed benefits of Prime membership are, in my experience, nonexistent. Questionable Reviews on Trustpilot The positive, 5-star reviews on Trustpilot appear highly suspicious. It’s hard not to believe that these glowing reviews might be fabricated by Opodo’s own staff to lure unsuspecting customers into their trap. The contrast between these reviews and my own experience is stark. A Final Word: Avoid at All Costs Opodo’s practices are nothing short of a scam. They lure you in with promises of savings, only to charge you annually for a membership that offers no real benefits. Their customer service is abysmal, designed to frustrate you into giving up on getting your money back. It’s shocking that a company like this is still operating. If you value your money, time, and peace of mind, I strongly recommend avoiding Opodo altogether. There are plenty of legitimate travel booking websites out there that offer better deals, transparency, and respect for their customers.

Called to cancel in plenty of time. The agent on the phone tried everything to keep me as a member including offering 50%off and vouchers. I said I wouldn’t accept this but to email be any details so I could consider later. They didn’t cancel my membership and charged me!!

They will draw you in with a free trial and then it is a nightmare to unsubscribe. You are unable to delete your payment method. They will charge you £70 year for nothing. The flight deals aren't even that good either!

The tickets that I've bought through them required checkin in personally in the airport causing a major time waisting. The prime membership contact center agents are just useless, they don't posses necessary information and always try to lie their way out of the situation. Really really bad experience

We were left sitting on costs in true Scan fashion. We were entitled to our money because our flight was canceled. We were put off and delayed for ONE YEAR. Then nothing was done. Called several times and tried to get our compensation somehow. The people at Opodo were not very hopeful, slick and always made excuses. The number for refunds was changed several times during the period, so that we had to start all over again. Then at some point they claimed "money has been transferred". Nothing arrived. Opodo couldn't/wouldn't say to which account and when at all. At some point simply nothing more. The previous email address at Opodo has now also been deleted. A complete scam.

Opodo is a scam company that preys on unsuspecting customers. **What happened: They sneakily auto-enrolled me into a dodgy subscription service without my consent. For over a year, I didn’t receive a single email or notice from them, yet out of nowhere, they charged me £90! The most infuriating part is that there's no straightforward way to unsubscribe online—you have to call them. I called three times to unsubscribe and was repeatedly promised a confirmation email, which never came. They even promised a full refund, but surprise, nothing happened. It wasn't until I threatened legal action that they finally sent me the confirmation email. **What you can do: This company is unethical and deceptive. I strongly urge everyone to avoid Opodo. Boycott companies like this and drive them out of business. Don't let them get away with these shady practices!

Unreliable company. If it would possible I would give zero stars 1. No contact email - none of your complaints will have written documentation. After I insisted to have an email address I was given an intentionally wrong one (“address not found” when I tried to send). When I managed to find a correct address (not from their support, just based on a knowledge how real email address should look like) - I received a notification, that my email was blocked due to their organizational setting. 2. Nobody responds to chat - I waited just of interest for more than 2 hours - nobody! 3. The only way to catch the support - international call to UK line with waiting time of 10-15 minutes at least 4. “Member benefits” and service fees in addition: You pay 89 euros membership fee in order to get 50 euros off for your first flight (they call this “member welcome discount). Still 49 euros saving? No! My flight was rescheduled by an airline and didn’t suit my needs. The airline suggested an option of a full refund and did it. Opodo charged 36 euros “service fee” without even thinking to suggest me to use 50 euros that they actually took back once the flight was cancelled. The simple calculation is: 89 euros membership minus 50 euros discount, that I didn’t use, because the flight schedule was changed and I had to cancel = 39 euros. 39 minus 36 =3 euros! This is a great discount! 5. Membership discounts - yes, Opodo suggests a discounted flight from Cork to London in just 104 euros per person (Aer lingus) but it’s 35 euros if you go to Ryanair website. Or maybe a discounted flight from Dublin to Berlin in 324 euros by Aer Lingus instead of 131 euros by the same airline if you search in Skyscanner? I cancelled my membership and I try to make as much as possible people to be aware of the scam, that Opodo does.

Terrible customer service. Flight tickets are not issued until after your flight date. Then they hide fees in the small print and help themselves to your money at a later date for a surprise subscription that you neither want nor need. They offer a partial refund but only if you do not cancel your subscription so that they can rip you off again at a later date! Avoid at all costs.
