About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Having made a mistake with the online order I immediately emailed Outback Equipment following this up with unsuccessful attempts to telephone to confirm as the company would not pick up the call. Eventually a response was received to the email to the effect that the order could not be altered.

Hello the haymen and rees sleeve is about 5ml to big it shakes alot we spent nearly $1000 and its so loud. My car is a bmw x5 e70

On the 29th of March we received our invoice for the goods we ordered, Today is the 2nd of May and we still have not received our goods. The order was only small items so there is no excuse for bulky items. As a comparison, I order some goods from the UK and they arrived within 7 days. I would like to tell you how good your products are but we are yet to see them, maybe finding a more reliable courier service, or speak to the management at Voltex Electrical about how to run a successful internet supply company

An order sat for a week with no update. Status was "picking". I emailed them for an update with no answer. Called some days later and the customer service rep had an attitude. Shipment was then sorted in a couple of days. My experience with Outback Equipment has generally been good with this exception.

I bought a Breha caravan pump - which was one of the more expensive ones. Unlike the other caravan pumps I have bought in the past, it did not fit the hole in the sink (Millard caravan) and was difficult to install without modification. It is noisy (it has some type of ball-bearing mechanism) and doesn't draw water well. It also has a shorter body than other pumps (which is what the 'short' in the description signifies - now I understand) adding further difficulty to the installation. Also, it took weeks to arrive rather than a few days - glad I ordered well in advance of requirements.

SeaFlo submersible pump failed after first use. Have sent details on your warranty claim. Boat now unprotected as boat is on a mooring in George’s River, Sydney.

Customer service was quite good but tyre deflators are a waste of money ... no calibration and deflate to a level that is unusable

Ordered 1 degree upper control arms Told was In stock then received a call to say 3 week wait. when product arrived I installed to find when chucking the box out I had been sent the 3 degree upper control arms not the right ones.

Was delivered by Toll but another party did the tracking which was hopeless. Took days for some information and a delivery date that came and went without notification.

Item was marked as in stock. Waited two weeks for order to arrive, when it hadnt been delivered, was advised it was out of stock and delivery was being delayed even further.

Sorry, guys, your international packaging leaves a lot to be desired. Order was completely munted on arrival and I was unable to give item as a gift (which was the reason I bought it).

I was disappointed. Our order went unnoticed because of a bulk order coming in just AFTER ours, so they got priority. I know this as when I called 10 days after I’d ordered I was told this by staff. So much for paying extra for express post. No free postage was offered and we got our order 2 weeks after we’d originally ordered it. Look after all customers not just the bulk ordering customers.

I ordered and paid for light fittings on the 4th Jan, 2022 (#N450540) I have phoned twice but have not had any updates on when the order will arrive. I appreciate that transport has become difficult with Covid however Australia Post could do better than this.

I ordered 3 items on 8th Jan, 2 items arrived within 2-3 weeks, however the 3rd item (a directors chair) hasnt arrived. Twice I have chased up and been told 'oh, the supplier has no stock' and twice been promised a follow up and a call back and i still have not recieved an update. Cost was over $110 and no one seems too interested in advsing when i am going to recieve the item i have paid in full for. My frustration here is at the lack of assistance and the last call after i mentioned i was 'still waiting' for the original call back, said i would definietly be called back...... still waiting and not a happy camper at this point!

Very poor customer service. Placed order 24 Th Dec. Got one item on 10 Th Feb. Three items still to come. Emailed to ask what was going on. Almost a week gone and no reply yet. Still waiting!
