About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Website is great, products are great. Shipping was terrible, sent an email to chase order then received tracking info 3 weeks later.

Ordered on the 31.12.2022 and my items arrived on the 17.01.2023. Also rang them and chased up the order to see what was happening with it. Pretty ordinary service when they are not even personalising the items.

Prices are good, shipping times are poor, havn't received product i purchased yet, I didn't realise on purchasing that they mustn't stick all products there they must have to get them from supplier and I'm still waiting been afew weeks.

Some of the brackets didn't arrive so I'm unable to install or use the anti flapper's.

I ordered an anti flap kit from your company in nov 22 . I phoned and made sure the item was what I required. What was delivered was 1 roof rail only . I phoned back and found the kit was out of stock but could be supplied in black .I agreed to take the black but as yet have received no further contact regarding delivery or amended invoice. I have purchased gear over a month ago and some has still not arrived, very disappointed, I will go to a normal store in the future and give purchasing online a total miss

Took more than a month to get the tent. 3 days after my camping trip. We have to hire a motor home for the trip as a result. Took them almost a week to process the order before they sent it off and the delivery cost $40.

Slow shipping and say they have stock when they actually have none. Product eventually turned up at least.

The products and Outback Equipment service was fantastic. I will not purchase from them again until they change courier companies. It took nearly a month to get from Brisbane to Wollongong, absolutely appalling

The products were good but after-sales service was ordinary. Had to return something and all I got was an email quoting the return policy and a surprise VIP account. No advice from the company that return was accepted and had to log into this mysterious VIP account to find that is where a store credit appeared. Ordered some products to consume the store credit and they advised they were ready for delivery the same day, via Auspost. 7 days later they had not moved, so chased them and surprise, the invoice was raised and the goods started to move. Finally arrived 14 days from order.

Still waiting for one of the items from my Order paid in full back in September, despite numerous follow ups and now a request for a refund on the missing item but i still have no idea on when i might receive the outstanding item. Competetive pricing was the reason i ordered, but in the future i will be looking for other more reliable suppliers.

Ordered on the 29.11.22 and still no word on when I will receive my order it is now the 15.12.22 Some communication would be good Spoke to 2 people the first said they would get back to me witch didn’t happen then the other said they don’t no when it’s coming in . Don’t think I will buy from your store again . Would have thought you would only sell items you have and not take payment for items you don’t no when they will arrive to you

While the customer service on both times that we purchased from Outback Equipment was great, on both occasions the products that we bought were damaged. Considering we were purchasing a quality brand (Thule), it is disappointing that these items have defects and a slow/non-response from OE customer support.

Dispatch took almost two weeks. Product didn’t work for my application so I need to return it, however I’ve sent an email and contacted via the website with no reply for over a fortnight. Unable to get through on the phone either.
