“OVO was charging me £7400 for the gas bill, I called them more than 20 times with no luck. I got in touch with citizen advice and within 2 min my problem was solve.

“Total failure to help when they are at fault
Having an OVO account has been really painful. They made a mistake and took money from us in error.
Accidents happen, no problem.
The problem is, we cannot get it back!
I have called them every week or so for months and always end up in the same circle with their support agents. They seem to try to help but also seem like they cannot. Sometimes they create a ticket, sometimes they update an old one. Each time, they say the previous person made a mistake and it'll be alright this time... Well, we're still waiting.
We just need a simple refund, it's not a big ask. It's our money and it's only fair we have it in our account and OVO don't have it in theirs.
Next, we'll have to escalate to the Ombudsman. All for what could have been resolved in minutes with the right procedures.
I really cannot recommend anyone joins OVO, shame :(”

Antiquated billing system that makes no sense! No one knows what’s going on! I just tried to apply for hkmebeat and electric blankets.. Rep said we don’t do that!! Yet it’s all over the Internet they do! The links provided to apply don’t work!
My bills have been wrong since they took over I’ve called emailed and still not resolved! They just say it’s correct! The new monthly billing is ridiculous after I was set up with SSE on quarterly!!
I’m furious with them and sick of chasing after them!
It’s a farce, a complete Circus with too many Clowns!

“Disgusting, incompetent & no regard to people’s well being. Waiting for an engineer as have no gas supply, not turned up. Now have to call during my lunch break tomorrow (12hr shift) to try & get some kind of answer. No doubt I will be without gas now for a further 2 days as I’m working. I have 3 young children in house, it’s their fault the card doesn’t work - my old card was working perfectly fine before this - complete & utter disregard for people’s needs & should not be allowed to be in business. How this company is getting away with this, I really do not know! Absolute SHAMBLES!”
“I was switched to OVO without my say so on further investigation my address was on someone else's account under someone else's name! Complete fraud this company! Then tried to blame my landlord for the switch when they have nothing to do with it major GDPR breach!!! Ive been beyond stressed with this experience with this company its been going for 3 weeks and still trying to get my energy supply taken back by my original energy company.
Had to issue a formal complaint for anyone to even listen to me! Avoid at all costs this company does not want to take any responsibility for any issues they just want to pass the blame around.”

“I wrote a review on Ovo Energy nearly two weeks ago regarding the dismal service they provide. The generic response was that they are sorry and can I email complaints @ ovoenergy.com. I did and surprise, surprise, no one has replied or responded to me. When I called the billing department and asked to speak to a customer service manager Matilda and another of her Ovo colleagues hung up the phone on me twice. This diabolically enept company is a blight on my life. I hate them with a passion. Utterly rotten company with no customer service whatsoever.

“Got switched from SSE wish I had gone elsewhere. Didn't send bills out admited faulty meter changed it.
Problems are. Trying to get through to speak to someone. Getting cut off after being on hold. Staff who contradict each other. Rude staff. No response to emails. Staff don't listen. Aggressive letters, emails and text. OVO you have effected my mental health just writing this review is making me feel anxious. To the handful of helpful staff I have spoken to thank you”
“Thank god I m not with Ovo Energy but with Octopus , but sadly my daughter was and has done her very best to leave them . They are the most incompetent company my daughter have ever had to deal with and I have had to witness . They don t seem to communicate with each other, or have any knowledge of what had previously , supposedly been sorted . They are time wasters and a constant cause of distress if your dealing with them . After a long stressful period where I had too witness My daughter close to tears ,she is now with another company, but still getting letters from Ovo telling her they are sorting it out .Incompetent , stupid , badly run ,bad customer relations .This company should be taken to task for customer miss management .Avoid this company at all cost . “Worst company ever in my 65 years on this planet. I have payg gas meter and when I inserted my new OVO card after they bought out my old company it instantly fried the meter that has worked flawlessly for over 10 years. I asked them if they had purposely did this as they were very insistent I changed to a Smart Meter. I have spent hours over the last few weeks trying to get them to fix this and they have made and cancelled 3 appointments on myself as I refuse a Smart Meter and do let them Fob you off. All engineer vans carry these and even tho they no longer make them they have thousands of brand new stock plus the hundred of thousands they have removed from homes. They have been a complete and utter nightmare to deal with and if I could give them minus 10 stars I would. I am on their priority list due to multiple medical issues and I could only imagine the way they treat the customers who are not priority. I do not use the word hated very often however they have become in my eyes the most hated company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. I have today changed suppliers to another after recommendations from a friend who also left OVO as he also said it was the worst customer service he had ever seen. Steer well clear of them and if you read the other comments you will see why. Go with them at your peril.”
“I need help with OVO billing. I am dealing with the same guys. I hate stress, so I always make sure I pay my bills on time. but I am not winning because OVO always manages to put me on debit. I called them 100 times to fix my bills and start at 0.00 debit. They say you paid everything your account is okay. no debit. I had rest, and 2 months later another debit of over £100 was added to my billing which they they didn't make obvious for me to see. I am losing my peace. I need help. I don't know what to do.”
