“The backbone is a great idea, but it’s bad enough I paid 100 bucks for it, but you also want to charge me to use the app for it too. You lost my interest there. It’s just a third party app. And you charge that much to use it. Na I’m good”

“I give this item a 3 star, same adapter from what came with the system when purchased. I shouldn’t have to remove phone from case in order to use properly. The whole backbone system is cool but I think still needs a lot of work”

“Feel if the controller is nice. Worked great for streaming Xbox Series X or playing games locally on the iPhone. The subscription service, Backbone +, does not appear to be a good value but is not required to use the device as a controller.”

“The product works well overall and is a nice controller. There are two things I don’t like about it. First, I have to remove my phone from the case to use it. This makes me really consider returning it. I don’t have a thick case, but really any case causes it not to fit. Second, some features are hidden behind a monthly subscription. It seems crazy to pay a subscription for a game controller.”

“The controller it’s self is great. It literally turns your phone into a console right! things I reckon id probably change… This SHOULD, be compatible with cases. (Perhaps make the tip of the lightning plug a little longer, then if people want to use it without a case you could make a rubber adapter similar to the opposite side or maybe a port you can adjust the length of with a slider. Could help with design ideas if you get in touch with me) It’s too risky using a £1000 phone without a case Also for longevity purposes you guys should probably look into making it so the lightning plug has some free play or is perhaps the side with the plug is on a joint. Because I feel that the lightning port won’t last long. Also think it would be worth while to integrate a battery so that play sessions can be longer. This would mean car journeys wouldn’t dent your battery life too much because it’s charging your phone as you play rather than draining it I’ll be completely and utterly honest the execution of this is great. The price…. Not so much. £100 for something like this is too much. If it included things mentioned above this would be worth it. And it’s be the greatest mobile phone accessory of all time. But for now it’s an emerging market and difficult to get everything right This is as honest and straight forward as a review gets”

“Purchased my Backbone from Amazon, as the Amazon description said the Backbone is now compatible with iPhone 14 Pro Max via an included updated adapter. However, it shipped with an adapter that was not compatible with iPhone 14 Pro Max. Ordered an updated free adapter from Backbone website, and after receiving it a couple weeks later, the iPhone 14 Pro Max camera lens still touches the Backbone. I am still waiting on a response from Backbone on if I need yet another adapter to try and fix this. No complaints about the Backbone itself, and the app is fantastic, however it has been a poor experience getting it to fit correctly, and as advertised, with an iPhone 14 Pro Max.”

“Good product? However two flaws adapter barely fixed anything. Feels like it fall out still, isn’t a completed flush and that’s with no case. And then second flaw is having to reconnect for a different game.”

“The hardware is good but it still doesn’t quite fit the new iPhones. The adapter helps but it’s not perfect. Additionally, the free trial for backbone plus seems to have gone from 1 free year to only 1 free month. Why? Now I get less value”

“Sorry I really can't give you a review let because this backbone is a Christmas gift for my son. But I have ordered a second Blackbone for Android and waiting for it to be shipped. When I get that one then I can give you a review for that one because it's for me. The scale is not right”
