“the installation went well, with very professional electricians. we had a power cut after the battery was installed, but found only one backup circuit, which our fridge is on. unfortunately we can't find any extra power sockets on the same circuit, so can't plug anything else in. we did contact plico, whom informed us nothing could be done about it unless we pay extra
I wish the backup circuit was better investigated during the installation process.

Our blackout protection is designed to provide backup for the essentials in your home, usually connected to one or two circuits with low loads. The existing wiring in the home, loads and other factors guide what is on this backup. This often results in the fridge being backed up (to avoid food waste during a power outage) and sometimes an additional lighting circuit. While it's not designed to run high energy-use appliances, it should allow you the freedom to plug in your essential appliances. “I’ve been with Plico for three months now and “so far so good.” There was no hassle when dealing with them right from the start. Everything was explained and clear. I’ve had two issues with the Alpha batteries one was when they had a global maintenance done a month ago (issue was a system error displayed on the battery) and just recenly when alpha ess decided to upgrade the monitoring platform again. The issue was failure of battery to charge from the grid. Both issues where resolved with Plico’s support system and had been resolved in less than 24 hours.”

You guys are really listening. At some point we weren't getting SMS anymore which made it hard for us to plan around vvp events (turn on airconditioning before vvp start time; plan to go out for dinner at night etc) but you turned it around and we're getting the notification again.
Why I didn't give a perfect score is because I am still not sure how the compensation is going to work. Particularly when members have paid for the system upfront. Also I would imagine that the size of system should be a factor for compensation. It would be good to also understand better how much flex was provided (I understand 2mw? - seems low for 2000members) and what the market prices were for the events.”
