"Postpartum from my first child rocked my world. It was unlike I had ever experienced. Having two littles back to back at 41 was a reality shift in the most basic of explanations, deeper reflections reveal it changes you mentally, physically and emotionally, in ways you haven’t seen since puberty. Ever heard of matrescence? Me neither! Luckily, my coach knew I needed to know this term! Honestly, just having a name for what you’re going through makes all the difference. This book was a good read and great recommendation. I got Prospera on board to ensure my 2nd bout with postpartum didn’t upheave my life like the first time around! And thankfully, it helped so much! I didn’t feel as crazy, I felt way more in control and talking to someone else normalized my thoughts and emotions. And it’s helpful to have someone besides your spouse to dump all of this onto. Your relationship isn’t meant to carry the load of all the thoughts in your head and all the emotions in your chest, especially not the hormonal driven ones from postpartum! Prospera helped save my marriage! I don’t like thin ice and this program helps thicken the ice to give you the confidence to skate right through it! Everyone’s experience is different and I’m thankful I was placed with the right coach for me. From the first phone call to place you with a coach I felt relief. If you’re looking for that, Prospera has a way of offering it to you in a gentle and very human way! Real people, real WOMEN, who have experienced this. And in truth, no one can prepare you for what motherhood will do to you, but that’s part of the magic! You have to go through it, through the thick of it, the ugly, the dirty, the shift is where the magic is found! And the mirror does not lie, you won’t recognize yourself, but that’s ok, the new you is here and Prospera helps you realize you aren’t alone in this new season. Every woman on earth who becomes a mom goes through this, you definitely aren’t alone. And we call it a season because there’s a change that occurs. A shift in temperature, scenery and overall mood. Lean into the change, don’t fight it. And it’s our responsibility as women, to inform the next new mamas of what to expect. Modern society has stripped the communal aspect of labor and delivery and pregnancy as a whole. The best we can do now is talk about this postpartum shift and what to expect and most importantly, teach the men! Once you realize the magnitude of what you’re going through, imagine a man trying to make sense of this! We need to teach them of this change that will occur, then maybe they can learn to support us better. Knowing that most of my issues occurred when I’m hungry or tired helped me translate real solutions for my husband to understand and fix! Anna has been a great help! She is kind, calm and helps me reframe my thoughts, which in turn helps me monitor my emotions! Priceless! I look forward to my chats with Anna and knowing I have someone to check in with weekly decreases my anxiety and keeps me accountable. I look forward to having someone to share my successes with and also share my fears with. A lot can happen in a week, I can feel sad, guilty and enraged in lightning speed, my coach helps me categorize these and determine their importance. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll need this service, but for this insanely important transition in my life, I’m not getting rid of this luxury! My nails can wait, my hair can wait, but my mental state, that can’t wait. It’s probably THE most important part of my routine and one that I prioritize! I answered my zoom call in the middle of the NiCU! I couldn’t find a reason not to. It was good/necessary for me to talk at that time. And if other moms/dads/nurses saw or heard me, great! Maybe they’ll start to see how important it is too! Grandmas, friends, aunts and sisters, looking for the most influential gift for new moms?? Postpartum therapy is so thoughtful and needed, give the gift of mental stability, emotional support and priceless guidance! You can’t put it in a gift bag at the baby shower, but let’s shower the new mom with strength, comfort and grace! I’ve found relief and I want that for all new moms, Prospera, highly recommend!
-Jessica Kennedy"

"My experience with Prospera has been truly life-changing, and I share this with deep gratitude and hope for other moms who may be struggling in silence.

After the birth of my first child, I went through an extremely difficult postpartum period marked by depression, anxiety, and even rage. It was one of the most frightening and isolating experiences of my life. Even as my daughter is now almost four years old, the fear of going through that again made the idea of trying for a second baby feel overwhelming. Yet this year, we knew in our hearts that we wanted to grow our family, and I also knew that I needed real, specialized support to do so in a healthy way.

That’s when I found Prospera. I was honestly quite desperate and needed someone who truly understood postpartum mental health and could help me find my way forward.

I have now had about five sessions with my coach, Sarah, and I can say without hesitation that she has been the single most helpful and impactful person I have ever worked with. Sarah is not only deeply compassionate and validating, but she also helps me truly understand my own thought patterns and emotional responses. She empowers me to see my strength and gives me the tools to work through challenges myself. That kind of empowerment has been incredibly healing. This is still ongoing work, but for the first time, I feel supported, understood, and hopeful.

I also deeply admire Prospera’s mission. They are providing something so needed for mothers—specialized, accessible mental health care at a cost that is far more affordable than traditional therapy. In fact, an entire month with Prospera costs about the same as just one or two sessions with many other providers. That kind of accessibility can make all the difference for moms who might otherwise go without help.

I am profoundly grateful that Prospera exists. I have already shared my experience with several of my mom friends, and I will continue to do so. To any mom who is struggling: you are not alone, and you do not have to carry this by yourself. Reaching out was one of the most important and healing decisions I have ever made, and I hope more mothers will give themselves the same gift of support and care."
